The Colts worked out eight players on Monday.

The Indianapolis Colts worked out eight players at various positions, according to the league’s transaction wire Monday.

As they look to bounce back from the season-opening loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts will continue to look for depth across the roster.

Here are the eight players the Colts worked out Monday:

Chiefs release 2021 fourth-round pick Joshua Kaindoh

The Kansas City #Chiefs released 2021 fourth-round pick Joshua Kaindoh on Tuesday as they cut their roster down to 53 players. | from @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs made a significant move in their cuts to get to 53 players on Tuesday.

According to A to Z Sports’ Charles Goldman, the Chiefs have released defensive end Joshua Kaindoh as part of the team’s roster trimming before the start of the regular season. Kaindoh was a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chiefs out of Florida State and played only three games for the franchise.

He showed explosion and plenty of promise with his size and speed but couldn’t get on the field enough for the Chiefs. The continued growth, injuries, and additions on the defensive line pushed the former IMG Academy standout further down the depth chart.

If Kaindoh clears waivers, he could be a strong candidate to return as a member of the practice squad. He played well in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns, recording a sack in the victory.

10 players on Chiefs’ roster bubble heading into final preseason game vs. Browns

These 10 players could see their time with the #Chiefs come to an abrupt end next week when Kansas City cuts down its roster to 53-players.

The Kansas City Chiefs have just one preseason game left on their exhibition schedule in August, and several players will have to put together outstanding performances against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday to earn a spot on the team’s 53-man roster.

While the Chiefs certainly wish that they could keep all 90 players who are currently on their payroll as they head into the regular season, the NFL mandates that teams cut nearly half of the athletes on their roster at the conclusion of the preseason.

Check out these 10 players who are currently on the outside looking in ahead of Kansas City’s final preseason tilt:

10 Chiefs with the most to prove in Kansas City’s preseason matchup vs. Saints

These 10 #Chiefs have the most to prove in Kansas City’s preseason kickoff against the #Saints on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs intend to defend their Super Bowl LVII title in 2023 and are in the process of determining which players belong on their 53-man roster ahead of the new season. Preseason exhibitions are an ideal time for younger athletes to make their case for a spot on the team, and several Chiefs will have something to prove ahead of Kansas City’s kickoff on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Guys like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Creed Humphrey, and L’Jarius Sneed have nothing to fear heading into the highly anticipated preseason matchup, but others will be fighting for their jobs in the Big Easy. Expectations are high for the Chiefs, and they can’t afford to keep anyone who hasn’t proven to be the best of the best if they want to win a second straight championship.

Here are 10 players who have the most to prove in Kansas City’s tilt against New Orleans on Sunday:

Check out all of Kansas City’s risers and fallers on this training camp edition of #Chiefs stock watch.

The Kansas City Chiefs will need contributions from every player they carry into the 2023 regular season as they endeavor to defend their Super Bowl LVII title. Several Chiefs have seen their stock rise over the course of nine days of practices in St. Joseph, while others have yet to prove that they belong on Kansas City’s championship-caliber roster.

With the preseason just a week away, now is the time for players on both sides of the ball to show coaches exactly what they can bring to the field next season.

8 Chiefs with something to prove in training camp Week 2

These eight #Chiefs have something to prove in Kansas City’s second week of training camp.

The Kansas City Chiefs face sky-high expectations ahead of the 2023 regular season, and preparations for their championship defense campaign have already begun in earnest at their training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri. While the Chiefs’ up-and-coming receiving corps has been the object of intense adulation at Missouri Western State University, players in other position groups are still trying to break through to secure themselves a spot on Kansas City’s final 53-man roster.

Here are eight Chiefs who have something to prove during Kansas City’s second week of training camp:

These 6 Chiefs could play their way onto the 53-man roster

Our @goldmctNFL takes a look at some #Chiefs who could play their way onto the 53-man roster during training camp and the preseason.

Every year there seem to be a few players who sneak onto the Kansas City Chiefs’ 53-man roster after strong performances during training camp and the preseason.

Last season, Brett Veach indicated that four players managed to play their way onto the 53-man roster. Which players could be in line to have similar types of performances in the coming weeks and play their way onto the initial 53-man roster for the 2023 NFL season?

We’ll take a look at a few key candidates down below:

Chiefs 2021 rookie season review: DE Joshua Kaindoh

#Chiefs DE Joshua Kaindoh didn’t play much as a rookie and could be the biggest wild card for the team heading into 2022.

The Kansas City Chiefs added six draft picks in the 2021 NFL draft. Several of those rookies made contributions on offense, defense and special teams during the course of the 2021 regular season and postseason. One rookie managed to appear in a few games but didn’t make much of an on-field impact.

Let’s take a look at Joshua Kaindoh’s rookie season and see what we can project for the future.

Chiefs activate DE Joshua Kaindoh to 53-man roster from injured reserve

#Chiefs rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh is officially back on the 53-man roster after a stint on injured reserve.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a reinforcement on the defensive side of the ball to start the practice week.

Chiefs rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh is back on the 53-man roster after a two-month stay on injured reserve according to the NFL’s personnel notice for Tuesday. Kaindoh was placed on injured reserve in October with an ankle injury. He was designated to return from injured reserve on December 22nd, and has spent the past three weeks getting back up to speed.

A fourth-round draft pick out of Florida State in the 2021 NFL draft, Kaindoh hasn’t made much of an impact in his rookie year. He appeared in just three games prior to his injury, playing  46 total defensive snaps in that span. He’s recorded no official statistics yet, but it did feel like he was getting close to a breakthrough before his injury.

With a rotation that features Frank Clark, Melvin Ingram, Mike Danna and Alex Okafor, the Chiefs are unlikely to have Kaindoh as a gameday active unless there is an injury. This does provide them with some depth if one of their defensive ends were to get hurt during the playoff run.

The Chiefs had a free spot on the 53-man roster due to placing Lucas Niang on injured reserve last week. That means no corresponding roster move was necessary to make room for Kaindoh on the active roster. With Khalen Saunders and Chris Lammons both designated to return from injured reserve, there could be some transactions in the coming days to make room for them on the 53-man roster.

4 Chiefs players returned to practice on Wednesday

#Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed that four players returned to practice on Wednesday, two from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, one from injured reserve, and one from a personal absence.

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting some good news about their roster ahead of the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Several Chiefs players who had been absent for a variety of reasons ranging from COVID-19 to personal to injury-related returned for the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Kansas City Star beat writer Herbie Teope spotted four players returning to practice, all of whom hadn’t practiced when the team last took the field for practice over a week ago. Those players included WR Josh Gordon, LB Willie Gay Jr., CB L’Jarius Sneed and rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh.

Gordon and Gay’s presence at practice signals that they’ve been activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Both were placed on the list last week and missed Week 15 as a result. Andy Reid confirmed during his media availability on Wednesday that both players had officially been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Also returning to practice is CB L’Jarius Sneed. He missed the past two games following the death of his oldest brother. He officially rejoined the team last week, but he was unable to play with the short week of preparation ahead of “Thursday Night Football.”

“We’re glad that he’s back,” Reid said of Sneed. “L’Jarius has had a rough couple of weeks here, but he is in a good place and ready to go. It’s great to get him back in, I think it’s great for the team, I think it’s also great for him just overall to get his mind off the other thing. He’ll be able to move forward there. Everybody is fired up to have him back.”

Finally, there’s the return of rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh. He was placed on injured reserve in October with an ankle injury. His involvement at practice signals that he has been designated to return from injured reserve. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he will play this week. The team now has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster from injured reserve. Should he not be activated, he’ll remain on the injured reserve list for the rest of the season.

“He’s made great progress,” Reid said of Kaindoh. “We’re glad that he’s back and healthy. We’ll just see how things go.”

The Chiefs are hopeful that they’ll get more players back as the week progresses, specifically, more players returning from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Still, this is a good spot to be in to start the practice week, all things considered.
