Social media reacts to Colorado landing top-ranked 2024 OT Jordan Seaton

Here’s how social media reacted to Jordan Seaton’s surprise commitment:

Jordan Seaton may have just pulled off one of the biggest troll jobs in college football recruiting history. Only days after removing Colorado from his top list of schools, the No. 1 ranked 2024 offensive tackle surprised many when he committed to the Buffs on Thursday morning.

Seaton, a 6-foot-5, 287-pound prospect out of IMG Academy in Florida, made his announcement live on FS1’s “Undisputed” alongside Skip Bayless, Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin.

On social media, Colorado fans and players were quick to show their excitement over head coach Deion Sanders’ latest recruiting pull. Below are some of the best reactions to Seaton’s commitment:

Five-star OT Jordan Seaton commits to Colorado, Deion Sanders

The savior is coming to Boulder

If you were hoping for the downfall of the Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders, look away. On Thursday morning, Coach Prime secured the commitment of 2024 five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton as he announced his decision on “Undisputed.”

Only a few days ago, things did not look for CU in the Seaton sweepstakes after he left the Buffaloes outside of his top six. But with former NFL offensive lineman Phil Loadholt now reportedly on Sanders’ staff, Colorado landed one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history.

Much like Coach Prime has done in the previous two recruiting cycles in picking up talents like Travis Hunter and Cormani McClain, Sanders has landed another superstar. The 6-foot-5, 287-pound monster from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida is the No. 1 ranked OT and the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 class (247Sports Composite).

Duck fans react to 5-star OT Jordan Seaton’s surprise commitment to Colorado over Oregon

5-star OT Jordan Seaton committed to the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday, leaving college football fans surprised across the nation.

Ever since he was at Jackson State and landed a shocking commitment from Travis Hunter, the No. 1 rated player in the nation, Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders has been known to pull off a surprise here and there.

So when 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, the No. 1 uncommitted player in the 2024 class, announced his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday morning, it made a little bit of sense.

I say a little bit of sense because a top-ranked player choosing to play for Sanders is not a surprise. However, Seaton choosing the Buffs over schools like the Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Alabama Crimson Tide was not expected at all. Seaton was expected to make his commitment on Thursday, with those four teams, plus Florida and Maryland, but he threw everyone a curveball and went with Colorado, unexpectedly.

On Thursday morning, Duck fans reacted to the news on social media.

Ohio State football misses on it’s top remaining offensive tackle recruit

Not great news for the Buckeyes, a huge recruiting miss

After Ohio State football hosted Florida IMG offensive tackle, [autotag]Jordan Seaton[/autotag] this past weekend, many thought it was a very good sign for the Buckeyes and the elite prospect.

Well, it didn’t work out for Ohio State, as the No. 1 offensive tackle and 15th overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, selected Coach Prime and Colorado on Thursday Morning.

This continues a series of misses for the Buckeyes along the offensive line for the 2024 recruiting cycle. That list includes Brandon Baker, Guerby Lambert, and more prospects picking somewhere other than Columbus to start their collegiate career.

Ohio State’s highest offensive tackle commit is Deontae Armstrong, who is the No. 34 ranked player at the position, in the same rankings.

Ohio State has struggled recruiting elite offensive tackles over the last few classes, which could back to haunt them in the future.

5-star OT Jordan Seaton announces surprise college commitment

5-star offensive tackle announced a surprise college commitment on Thursday morning.

The recruitment for 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton got pretty cloudy over the past couple of weeks, as contenders jockeyed for position and tried to get in a spot where they could land the elite lineman who was considered the top uncommitted prospect left on the board.

As the final week of his recruitment took place, it was pretty hard to find any recruiting analysts who felt confident about where he would end up. Some thought Tennessee was the leader, while others argued for Ohio State or Oregon. In the end, Seaton was scheduled to announce his commitment on Thursday.

So on Thursday morning, the college football world was justified in feeling a bit of shock when Seaton announced his commitment to…the Colorado Buffaloes.

While fans of the Volunteers, Ducks, Buckeyes, and even Alabama Crimson Tide prepared for the possibility that Seaton could land with them, I don’t think anyone was strongly considering Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes as an option.

Ultimately, the 5-star OT who was ranked as the No. 15 player in the nation is headed to Boulder, where he will definitely get early playing time in 2024.

Vols’ target Jordan Seaton commits to Colorado

Vols’ target Jordan Seaton commits to Colorado football.

2024 offensive lineman Jordan Seaton announced his college commitment on Thursday.

Seaton committed to Colorado over Tennessee, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Florida and Maryland.

The 6-foot-5, 287-pound Seaton is from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He went to IMG Academy from Washington, D.C.

Seaton officially visited Tennessee on Nov. 18, while he unofficially visited the Vols on Sept. 30. Tennessee offered a scholarship to the offensive lineman on Aug. 23, 2021.

The early signing period for the 2024 recruiting class will take place Dec. 20-22.

The Vols have 20 commitments in the 2024 class:

Cornerback Kaleb Beasley, defensive lineman Carson Gentle, athlete Marcus Goree Jr., athlete Jonathan Echols, quarterback Jake Merklinger, offensive tackle Jesse Perry, offensive tackle Gage Ginther, safety Edrees Farooq, defensive lineman Jeremias Heard, edge rusher Kellen Lindstrom, running back Peyton Lewis, athlete Boo Carter, linebacker Jordan Burns, offensive lineman Max Anderson, wide receiver Braylon Staley, offensive lineman William Satterwhite, wide receiver Mike Matthews, linebacker Edwin Spillman, offensive lineman Bennett Warren and edge Jordan Ross.

Alabama OL target, 2024 5-star OT Jordan Seaton sets commitment date

2024 five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is heavily considering the Crimson Tide at this time.

The Alabama coaching staff has been persistent on 2024 offensive tackle Jordan Seaton being their No. 1 remaining target. Well, the time has come for the IMG Academy product to announce his commitment.

On Monday, Seaton announced that he would be making his commitment known on Dec. 7. He announced via X; formerly known as Twitter.

Seaton is one of the most highly-coveted offensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting cycle. At 6-foot-5 and 287 pounds, he will have the opportunity to play offensive guard or offensive tackle at the college level.

As it stands, the favorites to land his commitment are Tennessee or Oregon. However, that has been merely speculation at this time. No crystal balls have been placed for where Seaton will end up.

Seaton has been to Tuscaloosa multiple times. There seems to be a strong relationship between Seaton and offensive line coach Eric Wolford. However, it is unclear if Alabama will be the school he chooses. Seaton will reveal that news in a few days.

5-star OT Jordan Seaton announces commitment date with Ducks among top choices

The Oregon Ducks are among the finalists for 5-star OT Jordan Seaton, who will announce his commitment this week.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are going to learn in a matter of days whether or not they are able to add a third 5-star recruit to their 2024 class.

It was announced on Monday afternoon that 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton has set his commitment date for December 7th, when he will choose his final destination between Oregon, Florida, Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, and Maryland.

Seaton is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 15 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 1 OT in the nation. He would be a massive addition for the Ducks, who already have a commitment from 4-star OT JacQaen McRoy, the No. 6 OT and No. 78 overall player in the 2024 class.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, Seaton would be a big-time body on the offensive front, slotting in at either right tackle or left tackle. We’ve seen what OL coach A’lique Terry has been able to do so far in his one season with the Ducks, and expectations are high for him to continue that success going forward.

With the addition of Seaton, Oregon’s current No. 7-ranked recruiting class would jump up to the No. 4 spot in the nation, passing both Alabama and Miami.

Five-star OT Jordan Seaton drops Colorado from list of top schools

It appears that five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is no longer considering Colorado

In only a matter of weeks, it appears that Colorado has fallen off Jordan Seaton’s radar.

After naming Colorado to his top seven schools on Nov. 17, the No. 1 ranked 2024 offensive tackle (247Sports Composite) told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Monday that he’s now only considering Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. Seaton plans on announcing his commitment to one of those six schools on Thursday.

It’s unclear exactly why Seaton dropped Colorado, but the departures of offensive coordinator Sean Lewis and O-line coach Bill O’Boyle may have played a factor.

Seaton, who played his high school ball at IMG Academy in Florida, took an official visit to Boulder last month for the Buffaloes’ homecoming game against Oregon State.

On a more positive note, the Buffaloes appear to be trending well with another highly-ranked 2024 offensive tackle, JacQawn McRoy. Colorado hosted and offered the four-star Oregon commit over this past weekend.

Ohio State will officially host 5-star offensive tackle this weekend

Time to roll out the scarlet carpet

The relationship between Ohio State football and 5-star offensive tackle [autotag]Jordan Seaton[/autotag] has been a difficult one a gauge.

Multiple times the No. 1 offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, had the opportunity to visit Columbus for a game day, only opting to head elsewhere. There has been cautious optimism around his recruitment, and now Seaton will make an official to Ohio State this weekend.

This means that the Buckeyes are firmly in the star tackles recruitment, and the fact that it’s late in the game could very well help the cause. If Ohio State is able to leave a favorable lasting impression, the visit will be fresh on Seaton’s mind as the early signing period inches closer.

At 6-foot, 5-inches and 287-pounds, the Maryland native could play almost any position on the line, and could play early as well. Here’s hoping the Buckeyes hit a home run with Seaton this weekend.
