Jordan Seaton, a 5-star offensive tackle, commits to Colorado football

Jordan Seaton made a shocking pick for Colorado football.

Rumors of head coach Deion Sanders’ demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated. Thursday’s commitment from five-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton is further proof that Colorado football, despite a rough for weeks, is still quite the force to be reckoned with.

Seaton, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman from No. 4 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida), is the No. 19 recruit in the nation according to ESPN. He was the highest-ranked player in the nation who was un-committed.

He picked Colorado from a stacked offer list that included Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee among others.

Moving well and lightly on his feet, Seaton is able to slide and plant very well. He has some nuance to his blocking and quick hands that allow him to adjust almost effortlessly to any kind of a rush.

Seaton has good power and strength but also has a frame that could easily blossom in the Colorado strength and conditioning program.

In the last few weeks, Colorado has been hit with questions about the direction of their program. After a strong start to their first season under Sanders, Colorado stumbled and finished 4-8 with six straight losses to close out the season.

A couple of recruits in the 2024 class de-committed and several starters entered the transfer portal this past week.

But landing Seaton certainly gets some of the mojo back for Colorado.

Where Colorado’s 2024 class ranks nationally in average player rating following Jordan Seaton’s commitment

Colorado’s 2024 class is now ranked in the top 15 nationally in terms of average player rating

Colorado’s 2024 recruiting class received a significant talented boost on Thursday when five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton shocked the college football world by announcing his commitment to the Buffs. With an impressive 247Sports Composite rating of .9940, Seaton is set to become the third highest-rated signee in CU football history.

Head coach Deion Sanders now has 10 class of 2024 commits, but that number could easily rise now that the Seaton domino has fallen in Colorado’s favor. Coach Prime and the Buffs currently have just under two weeks until the early signing period begins on Dec. 20.

Colorado 5-star OL Jordan Seaton channeled Deion Sanders with bold recruitment speech

“You claim you’re a dog, why you not coming to Colorado?”

Jordan Seaton has a message to all future recruits.

The Colorado Buffaloes captivated the college football world this year when they hired Deion Sanders. An NFL legend, Sanders brought national attention to the program with his witty quotes and larger-than-life-personality.

Unfortunately, the notoriety did not translate to many wins. After winning their first three matchups, the team lost eight of their remaining nine games. Part of the reason those losses were so harsh on the team is that they got beat in the trenches.

So, it makes sense that they nabbed a five-star offensive lineman from IMG Academy named Jordan Seaton. Jordan announced his decision to play at Colorado on Thursday during an episode of Fox Sports’ Undisputed.

But it didn’t come without head-turning questions to anyone looking for somewhere to play.

Never count Deion Sanders out of a recruiting race.

Despite removing Colorado from his list of top schools earlier this week, five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton shocked the college football world on Thursday when he gave his commitment to Coach Prime. Seaton is now the highest-rated member of the Buffaloes’ 2024 recruiting class, which currently holds 10 commits ahead of the looming early signing day.

He’ll have to earn it, but Seaton should be considered the favorite to start at left tackle for Colorado next season. Many have even dubbed the 6-foot-5, 287-pound prospect as “The Savior.”

Below are five things you should know about Seaton:

Social media reacts to Colorado landing top-ranked 2024 OT Jordan Seaton

Here’s how social media reacted to Jordan Seaton’s surprise commitment:

Jordan Seaton may have just pulled off one of the biggest troll jobs in college football recruiting history. Only days after removing Colorado from his top list of schools, the No. 1 ranked 2024 offensive tackle surprised many when he committed to the Buffs on Thursday morning.

Seaton, a 6-foot-5, 287-pound prospect out of IMG Academy in Florida, made his announcement live on FS1’s “Undisputed” alongside Skip Bayless, Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin.

On social media, Colorado fans and players were quick to show their excitement over head coach Deion Sanders’ latest recruiting pull. Below are some of the best reactions to Seaton’s commitment:

Five-star OT Jordan Seaton commits to Colorado, Deion Sanders

The savior is coming to Boulder

If you were hoping for the downfall of the Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders, look away. On Thursday morning, Coach Prime secured the commitment of 2024 five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton as he announced his decision on “Undisputed.”

Only a few days ago, things did not look for CU in the Seaton sweepstakes after he left the Buffaloes outside of his top six. But with former NFL offensive lineman Phil Loadholt now reportedly on Sanders’ staff, Colorado landed one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history.

Much like Coach Prime has done in the previous two recruiting cycles in picking up talents like Travis Hunter and Cormani McClain, Sanders has landed another superstar. The 6-foot-5, 287-pound monster from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida is the No. 1 ranked OT and the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 class (247Sports Composite).

Duck fans react to 5-star OT Jordan Seaton’s surprise commitment to Colorado over Oregon

5-star OT Jordan Seaton committed to the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday, leaving college football fans surprised across the nation.

Ever since he was at Jackson State and landed a shocking commitment from Travis Hunter, the No. 1 rated player in the nation, Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders has been known to pull off a surprise here and there.

So when 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, the No. 1 uncommitted player in the 2024 class, announced his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday morning, it made a little bit of sense.

I say a little bit of sense because a top-ranked player choosing to play for Sanders is not a surprise. However, Seaton choosing the Buffs over schools like the Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Alabama Crimson Tide was not expected at all. Seaton was expected to make his commitment on Thursday, with those four teams, plus Florida and Maryland, but he threw everyone a curveball and went with Colorado, unexpectedly.

On Thursday morning, Duck fans reacted to the news on social media.

Ohio State football misses on it’s top remaining offensive tackle recruit

Not great news for the Buckeyes, a huge recruiting miss

After Ohio State football hosted Florida IMG offensive tackle, [autotag]Jordan Seaton[/autotag] this past weekend, many thought it was a very good sign for the Buckeyes and the elite prospect.

Well, it didn’t work out for Ohio State, as the No. 1 offensive tackle and 15th overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, selected Coach Prime and Colorado on Thursday Morning.

This continues a series of misses for the Buckeyes along the offensive line for the 2024 recruiting cycle. That list includes Brandon Baker, Guerby Lambert, and more prospects picking somewhere other than Columbus to start their collegiate career.

Ohio State’s highest offensive tackle commit is Deontae Armstrong, who is the No. 34 ranked player at the position, in the same rankings.

Ohio State has struggled recruiting elite offensive tackles over the last few classes, which could back to haunt them in the future.

5-star OT Jordan Seaton announces surprise college commitment

5-star offensive tackle announced a surprise college commitment on Thursday morning.

The recruitment for 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton got pretty cloudy over the past couple of weeks, as contenders jockeyed for position and tried to get in a spot where they could land the elite lineman who was considered the top uncommitted prospect left on the board.

As the final week of his recruitment took place, it was pretty hard to find any recruiting analysts who felt confident about where he would end up. Some thought Tennessee was the leader, while others argued for Ohio State or Oregon. In the end, Seaton was scheduled to announce his commitment on Thursday.

So on Thursday morning, the college football world was justified in feeling a bit of shock when Seaton announced his commitment to…the Colorado Buffaloes.

While fans of the Volunteers, Ducks, Buckeyes, and even Alabama Crimson Tide prepared for the possibility that Seaton could land with them, I don’t think anyone was strongly considering Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes as an option.

Ultimately, the 5-star OT who was ranked as the No. 15 player in the nation is headed to Boulder, where he will definitely get early playing time in 2024.
