Josh Heupel discusses Javontez Spraggins’ performance during fall camp

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel discusses offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins’ performance during fall camp.

Tennessee held its first scrimmage during fall training camp at Neyland Stadium on Thursday.

Third-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with media following the scrimmage.

Heupel was asked about senior offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins’ performance in Thursday’s scrimmage and throughout fall training camp.

“First of all, he has great energy every single day. He’s the same competitor. That’s a part of why he’s climbed personally. He has great influence on the offensive line unit, the offense in general and really our football team. He’s a huge part of the energy that we have at practice every single day. He’s been hyper focused on how he can grow to be the best player that he can be. You guys know he’s going to play with great effort and be extremely physical.

“In the offseason, he continued to change his body. Fundamentally, I think he’s continuing to grow. In particular, I think that pays dividends in pass pro situations.”

Spraggins has appeared in 33 games, including 26 starts, from 2020-22 at Tennessee. 25 starts were at right guard, while one was at tight end in a jumbo package. He played in 1,843 offensive snaps entering the 2023 season.

Wer’e taking an early look at the top 2024 NFL draft prospects for the Philadelphia Eagles to watch at key positions

The Eagles are just 22 days from the start of training camp, but it is never too early to look at the 2024 NFL draft.

Next spring will see guaranteed locks like Heisman Trophy Winner Caleb Williams (USC), Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State), Drake Maye (UNC), Joe Alt (Notre Dame), Brock Bowers (UGA), and Olumuviwa Fashanu (Penn State) all battle to round out the top five.

With teams around the league praying to be on the clock, here’s an early of the top 2024 prospects at critical positions.

Full list of Eagles’ 2024 NFL draft picks with projected compensatory selections

We’re looking at the Philadelphia Eagles’ complete order of 2024 NFL draft picks with compensatory projections.

The Eagles made several critical signings during the 2023 NFL free agency process, with all of the additions being one-year deals.

Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman watched ten contributors leave on the open market.

Thanks to his shrewd maneuvering and roster building, the Eagles are in line for four valuable compensatory picks in 2024, according to NFL.com draft expert, Lance Zierlein.

The Eagles played the compensatory pick game perfectly. They knew they would have a large number of players depart in free agency, and they didn’t add any projected qualifying free agents to the team. Philadelphia should receive the maximum number of picks, including a third-rounder for Hargrave.

The Birds were slated to have six picks in the 2024 NFL draft, but thanks to the compensatory formula, they’ll have 10.

Here’s an early look at the Eagles’ 2024 NFL draft picks.

Vols’ offensive lineman projected as 2024 NFL draft first round pick

Tennessee offensive lineman is projected as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

The 2023 NFL draft ended April 29.

Detroit, Michigan is scheduled to host the 2024 NFL draft April 25–27.

CBS Sports released a way-too-early 2024 mock draft on Wednesday and projected the Vols to have its second straight first-round selection.

Darnell Wright was selected by Chicago with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. It would be the first time since 2013-14 the Vols would have consecutive first-round NFL draft picks.

Offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins is projected to be the No. 30 overall selection by Philadelphia.

Spraggins has played in 32 games, including 25 career starts, over three seasons at Tennessee. 24 of his starts were at right guard and one at tight end in a jumbo package in 2020 as a true freshman.

In 2022, Spraggins played 891 total snaps and only allowed two sacks. He was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week against Florida after playing 72 snaps without allowing a pressure.
