KNOXVILLE – As Tennessee football brings in new talent during the Early Signing Period, Vols Wire is releasing player profiles on each individual that signs with UT.

Find out recruiting ratings, key skills, stats and which other programs had offers on the table for each Tennessee signee.

Javontez Spraggins is one of three offensive linemen to sign for Tennessee during the Early Signing Period. From East Saint Louis, Ill., the 6-foot-2, 338-pound lineman is another longtime Tennessee commit.

A three-star prospect, Spraggins is listed as the No. 15 center in the country per the 247 Sports Composite.

With offers from Missouri, Central Michigan and Iowa State, Tennessee saw Spraggins as a diamond in the rough during the recruiting process.

“A guy that is extremely athletic and has really good balance and body control and is probably as excited about having a chance to continue his football career in college as anybody I’ve been a part of in recruiting,” said Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt of Spraggins. “A guy that is hungry and ready to get here, he’s already been calling today wanting to get the playbook, wanting to get the next workout.

“He’s a guy that’s used to winning.”
