The Jets need offensive linemen. Just about everyone in America is aware of that fact. With Jeff Ulbrich acting as one of the head coaches this year for the Senior Bowl, the Jets will have a chance to get up close to plenty of this season’s options in the draft.

Former Alabama starting OL Javion Cohen announces transfer to Miami

Javion Cohen was a two-year starter at the guard position for Alabama. After entering the transfer portal, he has now committed to Miami.

It did not take long for former Alabama starter and offensive guard Javion Cohen to find a new home. On Sunday, the Alabama native announced that he was transferring to Miami via his Twitter account.

He became the fifth Alabama transfer to find his new home within the span of two weeks. The others that have announced their transfer destinations are Traeshon Holden (Oregon), Khyree Jackson (Oregon), Christian Leary (UCF), JoJo Earle (TCU), and Jack Martin (Houston).

Cohen started in 25 of the 27 games that he played in throughout three seasons. He played a key role along the Tide’s offensive front. The two-year Alabama starter will now head to Coral Gables to play for former Alabama assistant coach Mario Cristobal. It will be interesting to see how he performs at a new venue and whether it improves his draft stock or not.

Former Alabama OL projected to transfer to Miami

Javion Cohen started in 10 games for the Tide this season. He recently entered the transfer portal and is projected to land at Miami.

On Tuesday, 247Sports’ Chris Hummer placed a crystal ball prediction for former Alabama offensive lineman Javion Cohen to transfer to Miami. This comes just over a week after Cohen officially entered the transfer portal.

The Alabama native spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa. He started in 24 games at the guard position. After the 2022 season concluded, Cohen was named a second-team All-SEC honoree by coaches from across the SEC.

247Sports’ Gaby Urrutia confirmed that Cohen would be taking an official visit to Miami this weekend. It will be interesting to see if Cohen makes a decision following his visit or if he decides to take official visits elsewhere as well. Nonetheless, he will not be returning to Alabama next season.

Retooling through the transfer portal has become an important part of roster turnover for every football team in America. In large part due to the portal, but also because of graduation and NFL draft losses, it’s become imperative to attack the portal looking for talent.

In Brent Venables first offseason, the Sooners added difference makers Dillon Gabriel, Jeffery Johnson, Jonah La’ulu, and C.J. Coldon. They’ll hope to do it again this offseason with needs at nearly every position group on the depth chart.

The Sooners have been active, extending offers to wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive linemen. It remains to be seen who will be Sooners this spring, but several of their targets appeared on ESPN’s ranking of the top transfer portal players. Alabama OG Javion Cohen to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Alabama offensive guard Javion Cohen announced his intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Sunday. He started in 10 games for the Tide this season.

Leading up to Sunday, the Tide had already seen seven of its players enter the transfer portal. Junior offensive lineman Javion Cohen announced that he was entering the transfer portal via his Twitter account. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

The news is somewhat of a surprise as he made 10 starts this season. Not to mention, Cohen started in 14 of Alabama’s 15 games in 2021. His role along the offensive front lessened as freshman Tyler Booker saw some early playing time.

Cohen is an intriguing addition to the players that have entered the transfer portal from Alabama. He has the most starting experience and has held up fairly well against elite defensive fronts in the SEC. According to Alabama’s official website, he played 1,627 snaps in the past two seasons.

Alabama football coaches recognize 12 players following Iron Bowl win over Auburn

Nick Saban and his staff selected 12 total players as players of the week following Alabama’s 49-27 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

On Monday, following Alabama’s 49-27 win over their arch-rivals the Auburn Tigers, the Crimson Tide coaching staff selected a total of 12 members of the team as players of the week.

On offense, the coaching staff selected a total of seven players including star quarterback [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] who accumulated over 300 yards passing on the day. The coaching staff also recognized all of the starting offensive linemen including Tyler Booker who splits time at guard with Javion Cohen.

The defense was represented by Will Anderson and Brian Branch while Ja’Corey Brooks, James Burnip, and Emmanuel Henderson got the nod with their roles on special teams.
