Michigan State Football makes top-14 for 4-star safety Jake Pope

The Spartans have made the final cut for one of the better corners in the 2022 class.

Michigan State Football fans got some good news on Monday from the recruiting front. 2022 4-star safety Jake Pope out of Buford, Georgia dropped his top-14, and he included the Spartans in his latest commitment update.

Pope is the No. 24 ranked player in the state of Georgia and the No. 16 ranked safety in the 2022 recruiting class by the 247Sports rankings. He is their No. 391 ranked player overall.

Pope is 6’1″, 190-pounds and has interest in some of the top schools in the country. Here is his top-14:

Tennessee Vols’ football recruiting news.

Tennessee continues its pursuit in recruiting towards the 2022 signing class.

The Vols have offered 2022 safety Jake Pope. Pope is from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia.

He was offered by Tennessee on Feb. 28.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety has Southeastern Conference offers from Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

Tennessee currently does not have a commitment for its 2022 recruiting class.

Josh Heupel was hired as the Vols’ head coach on Jan. 27, replacing Jeremy Pruitt who was relieved of his duties.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to safety Jake Pope, who plays football for Buford High School.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to safety Jake Pope, who plays football for Buford High School. Pope is a member of the class of 2022 and is an unrated recruit at the moment.

Pope plays wide receiver in addition to safety. He will become a rated prospect soon based on the recruiting attention he’s received recently. Pope has scholarship offers from Virginia, Alabama, Boston College, Auburn, and Georgia this month.

Pope is 6-foot-2 and weighs 190 pounds. He won a 6A State Championship this past season with Buford High School. Additionally, he was named All-Region.

The unrated recruit is a versatile athlete who is a good route runner on offense. He is an impressive tackler in open space and made some important plays against elite high school competition.
