Priority 2026 QB target Jaden O’Neal names top 10, commitment expected in July

Oklahoma Sooners Priority QB target Jaden O’Neal names top ten.

Over the last few months, Oklahoma has entrenched itself in building the foundation for its [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag]. They are right in the thick of finishing their [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], but by December, things should be signed, sealed, and delivered in that respect.

This summer, along with their efforts for 2025, Oklahoma has offered 2026 players left and right and has hosted many of them during Brent Venables Football Camp.

The Sooners are set at QB for the next few years, we’d venture to say. The Sooners expect [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] for at least the next two years, and they have [autotag]Michael Hawkins[/autotag] and [autotag]Brendan Zurbrugg[/autotag] behind him. In the 2025 class, four-star field general [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] is already committed. With that depth already, the Sooners can focus even further, bringing us to 2026.

On the radar for 2026, one name stands out above the crop for the Sooners: [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag]. The Sooners have an overwhelming amount of love from the recruiting industry to land the talented passer out of California, and right now, it’s hard to see the recruitment not ultimately ending up in the Sooners’ favor.

Predictions from On3, 247Sports, and Rivals all favor the Sooners, with the most recent coming from Sooners Illustrated and 247Sports’ Collin Kennedy and James Jackson.

On Wednesday, O’Neal updated the world on his recruitment by announcing his top ten schools.

Colorado, Auburn, Washington, FSU, Ohio State, Miami, Penn State, Arizona State, and Oregon join the Sooners in fighting for O’Neal’s commitment.

O’Neal has visited and camped with the Sooners this summer, as well as many of the other schools in his top ten. He competed at their camps as well. He has a competitive drive that should be admired.

His recruitment could be coming to a close before the end of the summer as he told Marshall Levenson of Rivals that he was eyeing a “late July, early August” commitment date.

Oklahoma is in a prime spot in every possible way, but closing is the key. [autotag]Seth Litrell[/autotag] has been around the recruiting block a few times, and this would be his first quarterback recruit since becoming Oklahoma’s play-caller and co-offensive coordinator. If he could close the deal, Littrell would start his tenure off with a massive win.

Oklahoma the leader for 2026 four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal

The Oklahoma Sooners have a long history of impressive quarterback play since the beginning of the [autotag]Bob Stoops[/autotag] era. From [autotag]Josh Heupel[/autotag] to [autotag]Dillon Gabriel[/autotag], and regardless of the offensive play-caller, the Sooners have had a number of dynamic passers at the position.

And that’s helped them recruit at an incredibly high level. And despite the change in offensive coordinator this offseason, it doesn’t appear OU’s quarterback recruiting prowess is slowing down any time soon.

The Sooners look like a significant leader at the moment for four-star quarterback prospect [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag]. O’Neal, who just spent time in Norman at the [autotag]Brent Venables Football Camp[/autotag], told Rivals’ Marshall Levenson that the Sooners are his No. 1 team at the moment.

It’s still very early in the recruiting process for the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag], and O’Neal is being pursued by big-name programs from across the country. O’Neal mentioned that he has trips to Michigan and Ohio State upcoming. Given the success of those two programs in recent years, the Sooners will have to hold off the Big Ten powers to land their 2026 quarterback.

O’Neal is considered a top-10 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, but with his size and ability, he has a chance to be one of the top players at his position in the class.

More: Jaden O’Neal projected to land with the Oklahoma Sooners

O’Neal was in Norman back in April before attending the Venables camp last week. He put on a show with his passing display and it’s clear he and the Sooners have hit it off.

Four-star QB Jaden O’Neal to visit Auburn this summer

O’Neal is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Auburn football is off to a hot start in its 2026 recruiting efforts with two commitments and a No. 7 national ranking. This summer, the Tigers will look to build its class by welcoming in one of the nation’s top quarterbacks.

[autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag], a four-star quarterback from Long Beach, California, has scheduled a series of summer visits and included Auburn in his itinerary. Auburn will be O’Neal’s eighth visit of the summer, which will take place on June 22.

When choosing a program, O’Neal tells On3 that he wants to feel comfortable not only as an athlete but also as a student.

“Do I feel comfortable walking around there? Is it a social environment? Is it a calm environment? It will matter being in an environment that suits me,” O’Neal said. “Also, I look forward to seeing the community outside of football and how people treat football players off the field.”

In addition to Auburn, O’Neal is considering several other programs such as Texas, Florida State, Michigan, and Oklahoma. O’Neal is a top-10 quarterback of the 2026 class by all major recruiting outlets, and is the No. 11 overall recruit from California according to On3’s industry ranking.

4-star 2026 QB Jaden O’Neal schedules visit to Oregon Ducks

A big-time QB visitor has been announced the for Oregon Ducks this summer.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have had some incredible success when it comes to recruiting the quarterback position over the past couple of years, whether that’s from the high school ranks or in the transfer portal.

Lanning landed Bo Nix out of the portal in his first month on the job, and he added guys like Dillon Gabriel and Dante Moore out of the portal this past offseason. On top of that, he’s been able to sign guys like Austin Novosad and Luke Moga, and he has a commitment from 4-star QB Akili Smith Jr. in the class of 2025.

Things don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon, either.

It came out earlier this week that 4-star QB Jaden O’Neal, one of the top passers in the class of 2026, will be in Eugene later this summer for a visit. O’Neal is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 54 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 6 QB.

Standing at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, O’Neal is a big-bodied QB who has the build to be a dynamic player at the college level. He will take several visits this coming offseason, but don’t be surprised to see the Ducks make a strong push for this blue-chip player.
