Texas is looking out west for a tight end in the class of 2023.

Four-star tight end Jackson Bowers out of Arizona announced he received a Texas offer on Tuesday afternoon. Texas star running back Bijan Robinson is an Arizona native as well.

Bowers has already released a list of his top seven schools including Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Oregon and Washington. He has one crystal ball prediction entered in favor of BYU. Texas hopes to get into the mix with his top schools.

His 6-foot-5 frame and exceptional athleticism project Bowers as a red-zone threat at the next level.

Texas’ tight end room is in really good shape with a talented young core of Ja’Tavion Sanders, Gunnar Helm and Juan Davis led by Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley.

Jackson Bowers, elite 4-star TE from Arizona, sets his sights on Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks are in the mix to land 4-star TE Jackson Bowers, an elite prospect out of Arizona.

This past weekend at the Oregon Ducks spring game, we saw a glimpse of what the future of the tight end position can be with the new offense led by OC Kenny Dillingham. If featured some vertical route concepts and an emphasis on getting pass-catchers in space, no matter their size. Players like Terrance Ferguson and Moliki Matavao got on the stat sheet, combining for 5 catches for 91 yards.

Now we might be getting a look at what the TE position could look like a couple of years down the road. 4-star TE prospect Jackson Bower, an Arizona native who stands at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, cut down is recruiting options to 7, and he included the Ducks in the mix.

Bowers is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 13 TE in the 2023 class, and No. 163 player overall. Though he is currently predicted to land with the BYU Cougars, his recruitment has by no means come close to an end.

Next up in our series is four-star tight end [autotag]Jackson Bowers[/autotag]. He made the long trek from his hometown of Mesa, Arizona to visit Auburn earlier this month, and it seems to have paid off, he included Auburn in his recently announced top seven schools. Auburn has emphasized the tight end position over the past few cycles and Bowers would be a great addition to the room. While it is loaded with talent, John Samuel Shenker is out of elgibility after this season, Landen King is splitting time between tight end and wide receiver, and Micah Riley-Ducker is the only other underclassmen at the position.

Big-time tight end visiting the Plains for A-Day

2023 Tight end from Arizona taking his first trip to Auburn for A-Day this weekend.

Saturday is A-Day for the Auburn Tigers. It is a day where Auburn fans are able to see what the team looks like prior to the team getting a little bit of a break until practice resumes in the summer. Auburn coaches are also looking to solidify the depth at their positions and determine which players have what it takes to start.

Although the coaches’ main focus is the current team, they also look to the future with recruits that will be on the Plains for the spring game. One of those recruits is Jackson Bowers. According to Cole Pinkston of On3, Bowers will make the trek from Mesa, Arizona to Auburn, Alabama this weekend.

The Arizona native hasn’t yet taken a visit to Auburn. This weekend will be his first. The 6’5″ target could certainly be a high priority for the Tigers as they towards the future. The tight end room will lose [autotag]John Samuel Shenker[/autotag] to the NFL draft after this season. Bowers could certainly provide much-needed depth and potentially make an immediate impact if he chooses the Tigers.
