Thoughts on Ohio State basketball’s 69-60 road loss to Illinois

Another difficult Buckeye loss. What were your takeaways? #GoBucks

It looked like [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] found their offensive groove again in their win against Iowa, but the Fighting Illini had a say in that. [autotag]Illinois[/autotag] would put the clamps on the Buckeyes, holding the offense down and getting a 69-60 home win.

Not much went right for Ohio State in this one, another frustrating effort from [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag]’s bunch. The loss snapped a six-year win streak in Champaign for the Buckeyes.

There were plenty of thoughts after an effort like this, most of them being very similar to what we saw during the recent five-game losing streak. Find out below my thoughts on another difficult to watch Ohio State loss.

What we learned about Ohio State after defeating Iowa to break losing streak

The losing streak is over!!! What did you learn? #GoBucks

It has been a rough almost three weeks, but [autotag]Ohio State basketball[/autotag] finally got back in the win column, defeating Iowa, 93-77, in front of a home crowd at [autotag]Value City Arena[/autotag]. The win improves the Buckeyes’ record to 11-8 as they try and claw their way back into getting an NCAA Tournament bid.

The team as a whole shot fantastic, 56% from the field, and 50% behind the arc. The offense obviously looked like what we saw prior to hitting Big Ten play, and it was the catalyst this team needed to get back to its winning ways.

There was plenty of good from this contest, find out below what the biggest takeaways were for head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and the Buckeyes in their first win since January 1st.

Thoughts on another Ohio State Basketball loss, its fifth straight

Another ugly conclusion. #GoBucks

Entering the New Year, the [autotag]Ohio State Buckeyes[/autotag] basketball team was 10-3 and looked like one of the best teams in the conference. New Year’s Day would be their last win, proceeding to drop five straight, their most recent tonight to a very average Nebraska team, 63-60.

It’s added to a very frustrating time for Buckeye basketball, inching towards .500 with every loss. Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] must have a warm seat right now, but with a few more losses it could be getting hotter.

Not much good came from this game, especially given the level of the opponent along with the long losing streak. This season has become increasingly frustrating and here some thoughts on the most recent loss.

What we learned about Ohio State’s fourth straight loss, this time at the hands of Rutgers

It’s been a tough stretch for the Buckeyes #GoBucks

The Big Ten isn’t easy and [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] is finding that out the hard way. The Buckeyes had a chance to get back into the win column today on the road at [autotag]Rutgers[/autotag], but the Scarlet Knights didn’t give in and defeated the visitors 68-64.

It is the fourth straight loss for [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and his squad, putting their record to 10-7 overall and 2-4 in Big Ten play. It has been a horrendous 2023 showing for this team, as they have started the new year 1-4, with their only win coming over two weeks ago at [autotag]Northwestern[/autotag].

It wasn’t a pretty game for the Buckeyes as evidenced by the score. Here is what we learned after another loss for Ohio State.

What we learned about Ohio State’s rout of Northwestern

Always lessons to be learned in a blowout #GoBucks

The Buckeyes got out to an early 22-6 lead and never looked back. It was a solid win for[autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and his squad, giving the Buckeyes their tenth win of the season to go with three losses.

There was a lot to learn from the return to Big Ten play for the [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag]. Even though they cruised for the majority of the game, it wasn’t all pretty for the visitors. The good news is that a road win is always a welcome sight and that’s exactly what Ohio State did. They took care of business on the road in the Big Ten. Find out what we learned about the Buckeyes 10th win of the season.
