Florida State gets commitment from 5-star WR Hykeem Williams

Big-time recruiting win for the Seminoles

Florida State has secured a commitment from one of the top athletes in the 2023 recruiting class. Stranahan (Fla.) wide receiver Hykeem Williams will be playing his college ball for the Seminoles, per SB Nation.

Williams (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) is one of the few remaining five-star prospects in this class. According to 247 Sports, he’s ranked No. 4 at his position, fifth in the state of Florida and No. 22 nationally. Williams had offers from 34 other schools, including FIU, Florida and Florida Atlantic.

In his Junior season, Williams posted 31 catches, 693 yards (22.4 yards per reception) and six touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, he added an interception and eight tackles for a loss.

Needless to say, this is a big boost for Florida State’s standing in the recruiting rankings. This is their 16th commitment and the first with a five-star rating. Williams’ arrival pushes them past Arkansas and up to No. 16, just behind South Carolina.

Remaining 2023 Texas A&M recruiting targets rise in new Rivals rankings

Texas A&M’s 2023 recruiting class is still in the process of reeling in their remaining priority targets and with the 2022 college football season less than a week away, some of the top uncommitted prospects are gearing up to make their final official visits.

This week, Rivals, one of the leading recruiting sites in the country, released their brand new rankings for a handful of blue chips in the 2023 class, which included five of Texas A&M’s priority targets receiving 5-Star designations and an increase in their overall ranking. Starting off, The Aggies are still in need of a Quarterback to add to the class, and after losing out on prospects such as Eli Holstein (Alabama commit) and Austin Novosad (Baylor commit) their sights are set on flipping 5-Star phenom, Malachi Nelson.

Other targets such as Offensive lineman TJ Shanahan, Defensive tackle David Hicks Jr., Wide receiver Hykeem Williams, and Cornerback Javien Toviano all received 5-Star designations and rose in the Rivals Top 250 player list.

Now, here are the five listed players who saw their recruiting value rise this week, knowing that the Aggies are paying full attention to their increased stock, and what it would mean to land these prized prospects.

Elite 2023 WR Hykeem Williams lists Crimson Tide as a finalist among other prestigious programs

Alabama was listed as a finalist for 2023 four-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams. He is set to announce his commitment on September 23.

In the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Crimson Tide has landed four-star wide receivers Cole Adams and Malik Benson. Another wide receiver that could potentially join the class is four-star wide receiver, Hykeem Williams.

On Monday, Williams announced his top-six schools via his Twitter page. Alabama was one of the finalists in Williams’ recruitment. The Florida native is set to announce his commitment on September 23. When asked by On3’s Hayes Fawcett why he included the Crimson Tide, here is what Williams had to say:

“It’s Alabama man, I mean what wrong could you say about them?” Williams said. “Also, I’ve built a good relationship with coach Wiggins and coach T-Rob.”

As of right now, he is projected to land in College Station according to On3’s RPM. The Aggies are the favorite to land Williams at 89.3% likelihood. The Crimson Tide clearly have some ground to make up in his recruitment.

Roll Tide Wire will take a look at Williams’ recruiting profile.

5-star WR Hykeem Williams locks in commitment date

Five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams considers the Georgia Bulldogs to be among his favorite schools.

Five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams is nearing his commitment date. Williams plans to commit on Sept. 23. The Texas A&M Aggies are favored to land a commitment from the talented receiver.

The elite five-star recruit will decide among Miami, Alabama, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver plays football and basketball for Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Williams spoke with Kristian Dyer of RutgersWire regarding his recruitment in January. He has built a strong relationship with the Georgia coaches.

“Georgia, man. They just won the national championship. And actually, before they even won, I mean, they were doing great with me – like I was talking to them throughout the year. I have built a great relationship with them before … with coach [Dell] McGee, coach (Kirby) Smart I built a really great relationship with them. And, man, they just had a great season this year.”

Williams also spoke about the recruiting pitch he has received from the Georgia coaches.

“They just tell me how they will use me if I come over there. And  honestly they could just keep it rolling if I go there because right now they’re on a great path. So if they can develop me to where I want to be…then we can just keep rolling.”

Georgia football has two commitments from wide receivers in the rising senior class. Kirby Smart and company are looking for at least one more wide receiver to join the class of 2023 and possibly two.

Major 2023 Aggies recruiting targets steadily rise in Top247 rankings

Major 2023 Aggies recruiting targets steadily rise in Top247 rankings

247Sports released their updated recruiting rankings for the 2023 class on Monday, with a couple of top Texas A&M targets in defensive lineman David Hicks, and wide receiver Hykeem Williams receiving a well-deserved boost to their profiles, both receiving official 5-star designations by the site. With both still undecided on their college destination, the Aggies remain one of the primary options for both recruits, landing in David Hicks’s latest top seven list, and Hykeem Williams’ recent top six.

To recap, the Florida native and Stranahan High School incoming senior Hykeem Williams, who remains a 50/50 split between Miami and Texas A&M, unofficially visited the Aggies on April 9th and June 10th, with an official visit hopefully upcoming in the next month or so. David Hicks, hailing from Paetow High School in Katy, Texas, is 247Sports’ 6th ranked player nationally and presently 100% projected to the Aggies while making 6 unofficial visits to the Texas A&M, with an official visit sure to come very soon.

Needing an infusion of big-time talent in order to reignite their recruiting momentum, The Aggies recruiting staff knows that landing Hicks and Williams, as well as 5-Star linebacker Anthony Hill, who is currently projected to sign with Texas A&M, is a must as they continue building their roster with an eye towards the future, and consistent championship contention.

New projections tie two 2023 targets to A&M

New projections tie two 2023 targets to A&M

It’s June, and as we say here at Aggies Wire, recruiting never stops. We’re finally getting towards the halfway point final stages of the decision-making process for some of the top football prospects in the 2023 recruiting class, with a spotlight shining on two of the major Texas A&M targets, 5-Star defensive back prospect, Tony Mitchell, and 4-Star Wide receiver prospect, Hykeem Williams.

The Aggies are in contention for both prospects with the usual suspects such as Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Florida, etc., looking to continue their incredible momentum from the 2022 recruiting campaign in which they signed the greatest recruiting class in modern history, inking a number of prospects that chose Texas A&M last minute, with a notable amount flipping to the Ags during their signing announcements.

In an updated announcement, On3 Sports writer Tim Verghese posted his new predictions on where Mitchell and Williams will land, with Texas A&M coming out on top for both prospects, coming as a huge surprise to many, aside from yours truly, of course.

After a recent June 10th unofficial visit to College Station, Texas for Hykeem Williams and Tony Mitchell, it looks like the Aggies staff made quite the impression on both young men, with both sides looking to continue communications and most likely future visits with the hope that we hear a “Gig ‘Em” from both talents sooner than later.

The highly-ranked four-star recruit puts Miami, Alabama, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and Georgia in his top six. According to 247Sports, Williams is favored to commit to either Miami or Texas A&M.

Williams plays football and basketball for Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“The top three after me the hardest right now are Rutgers, Georgia and I’d say Miami,” Williams told Rutgers Wire. “Those are the three after me the hardest.”

Williams has built a strong relationship with the Georgia coaches. Watching the Bulldogs win the national title certainly furthered the 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver’s interest in the Bulldogs.

“Georgia, man. They just won the national championship. And actually, before they even won, I mean, they were doing great with me – like I was talking to them throughout the year. Rutgers football recruiting: Four-star Hykeem Williams announce his top six programs

Rutgers football has been recruiting four-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams from Florida.

Florida wide receiver Hykeem Williams pulled out his top six over the weekend, the highly-ranked talent shedding several big time programs and perceived frontrunners in the process.

Making the cut for Williams were Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Pittsburgh, Miami and Texas A&M. Williams is a standout wide receiver at Stranahan (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and a member of the class of 2023.

Last season as a junior he averaged 99 receiving yards per game and had nine touchdowns on the season. He is also a standout forward for the Stranahan basketball team.

On the cutting room floor for Williams were some big programs such as Michigan, Ohio State State, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee among others.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver is one of the top recruits at not just his position but in the nation.

On3 has him as a four-star, the No. 24 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 153 recruit overall, regardless of position.

He is also the No. 34 recruit in Florida according to On3.

There is an interesting connection between two of the schools and Rutgers. Both Georgia (secondary coach Fran Brown) and Pittsburgh (wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood) hired Rutgers assistants this offseason. In the past, Williams has spoken highly about both Brown and Underwood in his recruitment.

In early December, Williams had Rutgers in his ‘top 15.’

Alabama makes cut for 2023 WR Hykeem Williams

The no. 7 wide receiver from the State of Florida has listed Alabama among his top college choices.

Alabama Football learned Sunday that they are still in the running for one of the nations top receivers for the 2023 class.

[autotag]Hykeem Williams[/autotag], a four-star receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has listed Alabama in his top-6, as posted on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Joining Alabama in Williams’ top-6 are fellow SEC foes, Georgia and Texas A&M, as well as three Atlantic Coast Conference programs in Florida State, Pittsburgh, and Miami.

In an interview by Hayes Fawcett of On3, Williams credits the relationship that he has built between two assistant coaches led to Alabama making the cut.

“It’s Alabama man, I mean what wrong could you say about them? Also, I’ve built a good relationship with (wide receivers coach) Holmon Wiggins and coach (Travaris Robinson).”

According to director of scouting for On3, Charles Power, Williams’ strong suit is his body control and burst of speed.

(Williams) possesses the balance and agility to make defenders miss in the open field as well as the juice to get upfield and pull through arm tackles after the catch. Has a big frame that carries his weight with ease. Measured 6-foot-2.5, 193 pounds with a 6-foot-4.5 wing-span as a junior.

Williams is the no. 7 rated wide receiver for the 2023 cycle according to On3. During his junior season for Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Williams caught 31 passes for 693 yards and six touchdowns.

Rutgers football target Hykeem Williams gets impressive basketball honor

Rutgers football recruit Hykeem Williams gets basketball honor.

Hykeem Williams is racking up the honors, the Rutgers football recruit getting some pretty big recognition for his standout play on the basketball court.

The Stranahan (Ft. Lauderdale) athlete was just named third-team all-state, capping off an impressive season for the four-star football recruit. The honor also underscores his elite athleticism.

Ranked the No. 36 player in the nation, Williams is the fifth-best wide receiver in the nation and the ninth-best player in Florida according to Rivals.

As for the basketball side of things, Williams led Stranahan in scoring with 12.2 points per game (355 total points on the season) as well as 10.2 rebounds per game (299 total rebounds on the season). He also averaged .6 blocks per game, third-best on the team.

[lawrence-related id=15790]

Stranahan beat St. Petersburg for a state title, their third state title in four seasons. They finished the season 27-3.

Williams has a strong national offer list that includes Ohio State, Michigan and Alabama among others. He recently took a visit to Georgia, a program many consider to be the front-runner for his services.

[lawrence-related id=15797]

Last month, Williams announced that he will be taking an official visit to Pittsburgh. His primary recruiter at the ACC program is wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood, who recruited him last year while holding the same position at Rutgers.
