The Kansas City Chiefs have a seven-point lead over the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth quarter of an AFC West showdown in Week 8.

Though Kansas City is undefeated in the regular season, the Chiefs have had their hands full against Las Vegas, which has put up a good fight against the defending Super Bowl champions through three quarters and change.

The Raiders had a chance to tie the game with a touchdown late in the fourth quarter but were stymied by Kansas City’s outstanding defense when veteran lineman Mike Pennel forced a fumble that was recovered by star linebacker Drue Tranquill.

This game has been too close for comfort for fans in Kansas City, but the potentially game-saving turnover forced by Pennel and Tranquill may have saved the Chiefs’ perfect season.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a heated back-and-forth battle against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Week 8.

After struggling to get things going to start the game, the Chiefs’ offense finally found some rhythm on their final drive before halftime, which ended in a touchdown by tight end Travis Kelce.

Though the defending Super Bowl champions fell behind by a field goal with just under three minutes to play, Patrick Mahomes marched Kansas City’s offense down the field with ease and found Kelce for a six-point score.

Take a look at the touchdown, which the Chiefs posted from their official account on Twitter:

Kelce’s touchdown catch came on ‘National Tight Ends Day’ and constituted his first score of the 2024 regular season.

Since his arrival in Kansas City, Hunt has been one of the Chiefs’ most dynamic weapons, seemingly scoring at will. The opening minutes of Sunday’s matchup against the Raiders were no different.

After Las Vegas won the coin toss to start the game and elected to defer, Kansas City drove down the field with ease.

Newly-acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins recorded his first catch as a Chief, but the best highlight of Kansas City’s first drive was Hunt’s impressive touchdown run behind offensive lineman Trey Smith.

WATCH: Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson rumbles for touchdown vs. Jets

Rhamondre Stevenson puts the offense on his back

The New England Patriots battled back in the second half of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, after rookie quarterback Drake Maye left the game at the end of the first half with an injury.

Jacoby Brissett took his place and engineered a touchdown drive.

The veteran had not played since Week 5 of the season. However, he didn’t show any rust on the drive when connecting with Kayshon Boutte and Rhamondre Stevenson on big plays.

The drive itself was set up by a great special teams play from cornerback Marcus Jones, who flipped the field with a solid punt return. Brissett handed the ball off to Stevenson, who scored from six yards out for his fourth touchdown of the season.

The drive itself took six plays, 28 yards and 2:15 off the clock.

It was exactly the kind of drive New England needed to keep pace with the Jets’ high-powered offense.

Drake Maye was dealing early against the Jets

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye orchestrated a drive to give the Patriots the first touchdown of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

He ran the ball in from 22 yards out to give New England a 7-0 lead, following the extra point.

The rushing touchdown came on a drive where Maye went 3-of-4 passing for 23 yards, along with two rushes for 28 yards and the touchdown. The drive itself took 10 plays, 77 yards and 6:28 off the clock.

It was the first rushing touchdown of Maye’s NFL career. The play showed off how effective he can be as a runner with the ball in his hands.

The touchdown ignited a Patriots offense desperately looking to get back on track after struggling throughout the season. There’s no question that the unit has been at its best with Maye under center.

Watch: Patriots QB Drake Maye delivers touchdown strike to K.J. Osborn

The Patriots didn’t win, but this Drake Maye touchdown pass was impressive

The New England Patriots needed an offensive spark in the second half of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and when they needed it most, rookie quarterback Drake Maye connected with veteran wide receiver K.J. Osborn in the end zone for six points.

It was Maye’s second touchdown pass of the game and Osborn’s first touchdown reception of the season. Maye’s control of the offense was one of the few positives to take away from the game for New England. They failed to come away with the victory, but they got another solid showing from their young quarterback.

They’re hopeful this highlighted touchdown pass is a sign of things to come.

Maye now has five touchdown passes in his first two games as a starter in the NFL. Even with the team losing, the rookie quarterback is continuing to build on a strong start to his career.

If anything, he’s giving Patriots fans a reason to be excited for the future.
