LSU QB commit Bryce Underwood shines in 7-on-7 camp

LSU commit Bryce Underwood put on a display in a seven-on-seven tournament in Orlando.

[autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], the top quarterback and overall recruit in the country, is the crown jewel of LSU’s 2025 recruiting class.

When Underwood signs, he’ll become the top-rated QB recruit in LSU’s history. He put that talent on display over the weekend with a standout seven-on-seven performance in Orlando.

Underwood connected with fellow LSU commit [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag] several times throughout the weekend, including this one here, with Underwood delivering a ball over traffic and Berry making the contested catch for a score.

Berry is ranked as the top recruit in Louisiana by all four major recruiting services and is a five-star, according to On3’s Industry Ranking.

Berry wasn’t the only Louisiana product putting on a show. Here, Underwood connects with University High’s Zay Martin for a score. Martin holds offers from Nicholls, FIU and Georgia Tech.

Underwood committed to LSU in January. He’s a consensus five-star and a big reason why the Tigers have the No. 2 ranked class in the country.

2025 5-star safety lists LSU in his top 7

The Tigers made the cut for the top safety in the 2025 class.

The No. 1 safety in the 2025 recruiting class has narrowed his list of final schools down to just seven. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and the LSU Tigers made the final cut.

LSU joins Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, Ohio State, USC and Texas as the seven schools that are still in the running for [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag]. Williams is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound, five-star safety from Galveston, Texas where he plays for Ball High School.

At this time, Oklahoma has received multiple Crystal Ball projections to land Williams on 247Sports and the Sooners are a 94% favorite to land him per On3.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked as the No. 3 class in the country by 247Sports. The class is headlined by the No. 1 wide receiver, quarterback, and running back in the 2025 class.

[autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag], [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], and [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag] all have the ability to be a superstar at LSU. All three of those guys are on the offensive side of the ball so it would be nice to add the No. 1 safety in the class to bolster the defensive side of the ball.

LSU trending for 4-star 2025 running back

James Simon is ranked as the No. 8 running back in the class by On3 and the No. 3 player in the state of Louisiana.

[autotag]James Simon[/autotag] is a 6-foot, 200-pound, four-star running back in the 2025 recruiting class. He is from Shreveport, Louisiana where he plays for Calvary Baptist Academy.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] already has the Tigers 2025 recruiting class off to a hot start as he has obtained commitments from the No. 1 quarterback, running back, and wide receiver in the class already. Even though [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag] is the No. 1 running back in the class and he is already committed, there is always room for more than one talented running back.

Simon has received multiple Crystal Ball projections to commit to LSU and according to On3, LSU is a 94% favorite to land him. Simon is ranked as the No. 8 running back in the class by On3 and the No. 3 player in the state of Louisiana.

LSU will have to fight off Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Louisiana Tech, and many other schools to try to land Simon, but the Tigers have the upper hand at the moment.

5-star LSU receiver commit Dakorien Moore says 2025 class will ‘be better than any other LSU teams’

LSU’s 2025 class has the potential to be the best in program history.

The Tigers have the makings of what could be a truly special 2025 class.

They already hold commitments from nine prospects including top quarterback (and No. 1 overall prospect) [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], top running back [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag] and top receiver [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag].

With a trio of elite five-star prospects in tow, the class currently ranks third nationally per 247Sports and first per On3.

There’s a long time between now and signing day, and as we’ve seen, it will be a battle to the finish line to keep these players on board. But if the Tigers can close out the class nicely, it would have the potential to be one of the best the program has ever landed.

Moore went as far as guaranteeing it. He said that the group, headlined by himself, Underwood and Berry, would accomplish things no other LSU team has before.

Given the fact that we’re only a few years removed from the 2019 LSU team that many consider to be the greatest of all time, that is certainly a tall order.

But it’s also the kind of confidence LSU should want to see from Moore, who committed back in August and hasn’t wavered, helping to pull Berry, who committed on Jan. 3, and Underwood, who committed on Jan. 6.

LSU off to hottest recruiting start in 2025 class, per On3

The Tigers currently have the nation’s top class in 2025.

While high school recruiting hasn’t exactly been the bread and butter of Brian Kelly’s program-building at LSU, he has the makings of a potentially game-changing class in 2025.

The Tigers currently have the No. 1 class nationally, headlined by the No. 1 quarterback and top overall player [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag]. They also hold commitments from the top running back ([autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag]) and receiver ([autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag]) in the class.

That’s not even mentioning other top commodities like blue-chip Baton Rouge linebacker [autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag], who is also pledged to the Tigers.

On3’s Keegan Pope recently broke down the teams off to the hottest starts in the 2025 cycle, and he said LSU takes the cake.

Nobody — yes, nobody — is off to a hotter start this cycle than Brian Kelly and LSU, who already have three five-star commitments. That’s as many as every other school in the country combined. Texas-based wideout Dakorien Moore was the first to jump in with the Tigers back in August, and the momentum has only rolled from there. Earlier this month, Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood, the nation’s No. 1 prospect, chose LSU over Michigan, Alabama and a handful of others.

Just a few days before that, in-state running back Harlem Berry, the No. 1 player at his position in the On300, also pledged to the Tigers. Add in four more blue-chip commitments, and LSU is making a strong early case for the country’s top class.

There’s a lot of time between now and early signing day in December, but this could prove to be a tenure-defining class for Kelly if he can keep it together.

LSU takes over No. 1 spot in On3’s 2025 recruiting rankings after Bryce Underwood commitment

The Tigers now hold commitments from the top quarterback, running back and receiver in the 2025 class.

LSU already had the makings of a very strong class. After landing top quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] on Saturday, it now has the potential to be one of the Tigers’ best signing classes ever, if Brian Kelly can keep it together.

With the commitment of the Belleville, Michigan, prospect, LSU now has commitments from the top quarterback as well as No. 1 running back ([autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag]) and No. 1 receiver ([autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag]) in the 2025 class.

As shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, that group is good enough to give the Tigers the No. 1 class in America, per the On3 industry team rankings.

LSU’s eight-man class also features four four-star commits, including linebacker [autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag].

There’s a lot of time between now and early signing day for the 2025 class, and the Tigers will have their work cut out for them to keep this group together. But if they can, it’s a potential national championship-caliber class.
