What an ideal 2021 draft looks like for the Cardinals

In what could be an important draft for Arizona’s future, here are some ideal scenarios for the Cardinals.

This could be a pivotal draft for the Arizona Cardinals, one that could make or break their future.

Right now, they have the pieces in place to make it to the playoffs, but there are still holes that they need to fill. While it is true that they can still fill some holes in free agency and have cleared some recent cap space to be able to do so, they still need to have a solid draft to round everything out.

With that in mind, here are, barring any trades, an ideal seven-round scenario for Arizona (and let’s hope this turns out as well as this one):

Cardinals land WR, RB, pass rusher in 3-round mock draft

The Cardinals land one of Alabama’s dynamic receivers in the first round of the draft in Chad Reuter’s mock draft for NFL.com.

It is mock draft season so we get to see projections from all over the Internet from draft analysts. We focus on the Arizona Cardinals and what players they could get in certain scenarios.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter has a three-round mock draft and the Cardinals go with the offensive side of the ball with their first two picks and then defense with the third selection.

Senior Bowl: 10 linebackers for the Eagles to watch

Here are 10 linebackers at the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl for the Eagles to watch

The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new coaching staff in 2021 and that could allow for a newfound desire to place value on the linebacker position.

The NFL is a new game and gone are the years of running backs getting 40 carries per game, or defenses serving with three down-hill, thumping style linebackers on the roster.

Alex Singleton and T.J. Edwards have been solid but the Eagles need an athletic, playmaking linebacker who can flourish in pass coverage.

Some of college football’s top linebackers have converged onto Mobile for the Senior Bowl and we’ve provided 10 that the Eagles should keep an eye on.

Colts’ 2021 mock draft after Week 13

A mock draft for the Colts after Week 13.

We’re one week closer to the 2021 NFL Draft in April, and it is never too early to look at mock drafts, and start to look at possible college prospects the Indianapolis Colts could target in the spring.

The Colts are well in the playoff picture at the quarter-pole of the season, tied with the Titans for the AFC South lead. The playoffs are certainly on their minds with a chance to make a run in these final four games.

Here is our second 2021 mock draft after Week 13 of the regular season:

Vikings draft edge rusher in Touchdown Wire’s “way too early” 2021 mock draft

Besides Danielle Hunter, the group lacked proven starters in the NFL and Michael Pierce opting out certainly did not help.

Even in the early stages of this offseason, the Vikings had their share of question marks surrounding the defensive line group.

Besides Danielle Hunter, the group lacked proven starters in the NFL and Michael Pierce opting out certainly did not help.

Our friends at Touchdown Wire think the Vikings could go for that very position group in a recent 2021 NFL mock draft. The outlet had Minnesota selecting Hamilcar Rashed Jr., who projects as an edge rusher, out of Oregon State.

Here’s what Touchdown Wire said about the pick:

“He took a huge leap forward in 2019, tallying 14 sacks after putting just two and a half on the board during his first two college seasons. But his talent is impressive. Pairing him up front with Danielle Hunter would revamp the Minnesota Vikings’ pass rush in an instant.”

I’m not so sure the Vikings will need a revamping on the edge with Ifeadi Odenigbo likely filling that role in 2020, but we’ll see.
