Georgia football OL enters transfer portal

Georgia football offensive guard Griffin Scroggs is hitting the transfer portal

The Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Scroggs joins several other Dawgs in the portal.

Griffin Scroggs, who played guard for Grayson High School, was rated as a three-star recruit in the class of 2022. Scroggs never saw much playing time during his freshman season in Athens. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Scroggs was committed to Georgia Tech during his recruitment, so there’s a chance he transfers to Georgia’s top in-state rival.

Right now, Georgia defensive tackle Bear Alexander, linebacker Rian Davis, Shone Washington, and wide receiver Dominick Blaylock are all in the transfer portal.

Kirby Smart and Georgia brought in just three transfers this offseason (Smoke Bouie, Dominic Lovett, and Rara Thomas). The Bulldogs have 14 players that have transferred or are in the portal. However, Georgia still faces challenges related to being over the scholarship limit.

Georgia has the nation’s No. 55 transfer class. The Bulldogs typically prefer to bring in talented recruits as opposed to a bunch of transfers. Georgia signed the nation’s No. 2 class of 2023.

4-star Grayson athlete Kylan Fox sets commitment date

Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Ohio State have all recently extended a scholarship offer to elite Grayson athlete Kylan Fox. Where will he go?

Four-star athlete Kylan Fox has set his commitment date for Dec. 17. Fox, a member of the class of 2024, has recent scholarship offers from Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Ohio State.

Fox plays high school football for Georgia powerhouse Grayson High School. The junior visited Athens on June 16. The four-star athlete also visited Clemson, Alabama, Louisville and NC State.

Georgia football already has a commitment from Landen Thomas, who is the top-ranked tight end in the class of 2024, but the Dawgs utilize the tight end position very heavily.

Fox, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound athlete, primarily plays tight end and edge rusher for Grayson. He shows good bend as an edge rusher. As a tight end, Fox blocks well, which is something Georgia expects out of its tight ends. Additionally, the four-star athlete racks up yards after the catch.

It will be interesting to see which position Fox plays at the next level. He has the tools to succeed as a pass rusher and as a tight end.

Fox is ranked as the No. 192 recruit in the class of 2024 and the No. 24 athlete. Fox is the No. 29 player in Georgia, which is stacked with top-notch talent in the junior class.

Fox announced his commitment date via Twitter:

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to another player on Grayson High School, an in-state high school football powerhouse. Georgia offered defensive line recruit Nasir Smith on June 1, 2022.

Smith is currently an unranked recruit and is a member of the class of 2024. The rising junior has scholarship offers from top programs like LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Colorado, and more. Overall, the Grayson star has over 20 scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman also plays basketball. Smith is a good athlete and can dunk a basketball. He would project as a 3-4 defensive end in Georgia’s defensive scheme.

Kirby Smart and Georgia currently have the eighth-ranked class of 2023 in the country. The Bulldogs have one commitment in the class of 2024 from four-star safety Antione Jackson.

Georgia football adds another commitment in OL Griffin Scroggs

Georgia football adds former Georgia Tech commitment in Grayson offensive guard Griffin Scroggs

The Georgia Bulldogs have added a commitment from class of 2022 offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs. Scroggs, who plays guard for Grayson High School, is rated as a three-star prospect.

Grayson High School was dominant against the highest level of competition in Georgia last season. The Loganville, Georgia, high school football powerhouse won the 2020 state championship.

Scroggs stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 315 pounds. He was previously committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but announced his decision to decommit on Aug. 2.

The next day, Scroggs announced his commitment to the University of Georgia. Not a bad timeline for Georgia football.

Scroggs had previously committed to Georgia Tech in June.

The three-star offensive line recruit holds numerous scholarship offers, but it appears that his prized offer comes from the home-state Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia offered Scroggs on June 9.

The Grayson High product was recently visiting Athens and spending time with Georgia offensive line coach Matt Luke on June 10. Scroggs took another visit to Georgia on July 31 and this visit cemented his decision to change his mind.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs now have 14 commitments in the class of 2022. Scroggs is Georgia’s first offensive lineman to commit in the class. UGA now has the nation’s No. 6 ranked recruiting class.

Don’t worry Georgia Tech fans, you have the No. 36 rated class of 2022, which honestly isn’t too bad for the Yellow Jackets.

The Georgia Bulldogs may be back in contention for class of 2022 offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs. Scroggs, who plays guard for Grayson High School, is rated as a three-star prospect.

Scroggs stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 315 pounds. He was previously committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but has now announced his decommitment via Twitter:

Scroggs had previously committed to Georgia Tech in June.

Will Griffin Scroggs commit to Georgia? He did just decommit following a visit to Athens, so his trip to the University of Georgia was certainly meaningful. We will provide updates as his recruitment develops.
