Best golf gloves for 2023

If you want to look like J.P. Prewitt, you’re going to need a great golf glove.

Golf gloves often go overlooked by amateur players, as they use them until they turn brown and crusty. Making sure that your glove is always in great condition will keep your hands in better shape, plus, it’ll feel a lot better, too. Always having a fresh one in your bag will ensure you’re never playing a round with a hole in your glove’s finger or palm.

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite golf gloves from brands like Titleist, FootJoy, Nike, TaylorMade, Callaway and more.

The Equipment Manifesto: Twelve rules to live by when buying new equipment

Shoes, gloves, golf balls and more: Here are a dozen things you need to consider. And BTW, get a 7-wood.

Bill Simmons’ first “NFL Playoff Manifesto” was published in January 1998, and I never read it. That column appeared on his old website before his days at ESPN, before I started reading his columns and listening to his podcasts on Grantland and The Ringer. Written for people who love football and love to gamble on football games, it is filled with advice you never want to forget, such as, “Never, ever, EVER back a crappy QB on the road,” and “Ignore final records and concentrate on how the team finished the last five or six games of the season.” He’s updated it several times over the years, and I glanced at it during last season’s NFL playoffs.

What does this have to do with golf equipment? It’s early September, and while there’s been a heat wave seemingly baking everyone across the United States this summer, hopefully, you have been playing and enjoying your gear. But with fall right around the corner, prices on new equipment may start dropping soon to make room for 2023 arrivals. Many brands release new woods, irons, wedges, putters and balls in January, which is just four months away, but others historically have dropped new products in September and October so that shops in the Sun Belt and Southwest have new gear to offer golfers who tee it up year-round.

With that in mind, I give you Golfweek‘s first Equipment Manifesto, a list of advice every player should keep in mind when he or she is thinking about purchasing new gear. It may not win you as much money as Simmons’ 2018 Rule No. 1, “Beware of the ‘Looked a Little Too Good the Previous Round’ team,” but I promise it can help you make smarter choices at the pro shop.

Our favorite golf gloves of 2022

Check out our list of top golf gloves in 2022.

Whether you’ve just picked up the game or you’re able to shoot lower than your age, a golf glove is one the most essential and affordable pieces of equipment most golfers utilize.

Golf gloves allow you to better control the club, but to get the full benefit of a glove, you need one that fits properly. Before we get into the following list of gloves to try, here are a few tips and tricks to know you’re getting the right one.

First, a good golf glove should be tight. When your hand is spread naturally, the velcro tab should reach to the halfway point of the velcro on the other side across the back of your hand. With time, you’ll break in the glove and the velcro will reach all the way across. If the glove rides too far up your wrist, try a cadet size made for hands with shorter fingers and wider palms.

If you play a lot, especially in the summer, buy in bulk to keep your gloves fresh. Pro tip: Hang a glove on your cart or bag to air out between shots. And if you want a glove to last longer, never leave it in the hot and humid trunk of your car between rounds.

The list below has options for every budget and handicap, and even includes where to buy.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s gloves from Bills playoff game displayed in Hall of Fame

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s gloves from the divisional-round win over the #Bills are on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Today Gallery.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is recognizing one of the best moments from the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2021 postseason.

Travis Kelce was the mastermind behind one of the most exciting finishes to a playoff game in recent memory. The Chiefs’ 13-second game-tying drive won’t carry the same weight that it should after the team’s AFC title game exit, but it’s still getting recognition from the Hall of Fame in its “Pro Football Today Gallery.”

In this specific gallery, the NFL displays historic items from some of the most recent games. The Chiefs have had a number of items displayed in the gallery lately, with Andy Reid’s face shield and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif’s lab coat going on display during the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Now, Kelce’s gloves and a game ball are going to help tell the story of the team’s divisional-round win over the Bills.

Here is what the Hall of Fame had to say about the items displayed and the game in their release:

“The contest was the first playoff game in NFL history with three go-ahead touchdowns scored in the final two minutes of regulation. Following the two-minute warning, there were 31 combined points, 296 yards of total offense and five plays of 25 or more yards. The game also marked the first time in league history that opposing quarterbacks each passed for 300 or more yards, three or more touchdowns and rushed for 50 or more yards without throwing an interception.

Travis Kelce clinched the victory for Kansas City on a game-winning, 8-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes in overtime.

To highlight one of the greatest games ever played, a game ball and Kelce’s game-worn gloves are on display in the Hall’s Pro Football Today Gallery.”

Golf gloves 2021: Best glove for every budget, preference

A list of our favorite gloves for every budget and preference in 2021

Although often overlooked, golf gloves are an important piece of equipment because your hands are your connection to the club. If your glove is poorly fit, has holes in it or does not supply you with the grip and traction you need, you’ll wind up making compensations and altering your swing.

On the other hand (sorry, we couldn’t resist), the right glove can enhance grip, reduce friction, prevent blisters and improve your swing.

Most golfers wear a glove on only their non-dominant hand, but sometimes a pair is necessary for wet or frigid conditions.

While most gloves look the same to the naked eye, there’s a wide range in quality and material, varying from natural leather to synthetic fabrics.

With the lion’s share of golf gloves falling in the $15-$25 range, we’ve identified 10 of the best gloves for any budget and handicap in 2021.

Chiefs RT Mitchell Schwartz sends Eric Stonestreet his gloves from Super Bowl LIV

The Modern Family actor and Kansas City Chiefs superfan got a cool gift from RT Mitchell Schwartz.

Kansas City Chiefs superfan and actor on ABC’s “Modern Family,” Eric Stonestreet, recently received a special delivery from one of his friends over at 1 Arrowhead Drive.

Stonestreet has been a part of the Chiefs Kingdom for life. But he also played a special role in the season-long journey to a Super Bowl championship. He appeared at the 2019 training camp in St. Joseph as “Randy Reid” the fictional brother to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

When things kicked off in Miami for Super Bowl LIV, Stonestreet was present and accounted for. He wouldn’t miss an opportunity to see his beloved Chiefs play in the first Super Bowl in 50 years. When the clock went to double zeroes, Stonestreet was right in the thick of the chaos congratulating and celebrating the win with players on the sidelines.

A few weeks later, Stonestreet received a gift from one of those players. Chiefs RT Mitchell Schwartz sent him a pair of game-worn gloves from the Super Bowl. They still even have the tape from the game on them.

Schwartz followed up his gift with a little bit of information about his glove size and his thought process on how he tapes his fingers. It was some really useful information for fans and even some young players just starting out and learning the ropes of playing offensive tackle.

Most know about Schwartz having 18-inch feet, but they probably didn’t realize his hands were so big that he wears a 4XL sized glove. He might need a new nickname that’s suitable for having both monstrous hands and feet.

In any event, this was a kind gesture by Schwartz to celebrate one of the biggest fans in the Chiefs Kingdom. And specifically, one that has provided some entertainment for the players and fellow fans since the start of this wondrous season.
