Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal reports that NFL teams were informed on Tuesday that the regular-season schedule is expected to be released next Wednesday, May 15th.

The Chiefs, Cowboys, and Eagles highlight the Ravens’ 2024 opponents list, and we already know that Philadelphia will open up in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.

Baltimore could be among the teams in line to face Kansas City on opening night.

After months of waiting, there’s only one week until all 32 NFL teams, fans and league experts will find out the official 2024 regular season schedule.

Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal reports that NFL teams were informed on Tuesday that the regular-season schedule is expected to be released next Wednesday, May 15th.

The Bengals, Ravens, and Rams highlight the Eagles’ 2024 opponents list, and we already know that Philadelphia will open up in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.

Philadelphia previously had one of the more difficult schedules over the past two years, but 2024 will see the Eagles among the top ten easiest schedules based on win-loss percentages from last year.

We’re about 7-14 days away from the 2024 NFL schedule reveal, and the league is helping build the hype by releasing a video teasing the looming matchups.

The Bengals, Ravens, and Rams highlight the Eagles’ 2024 opponents list, and we already know that Philadelphia will open up in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.

There’s a cycle of inter-conference faceoffs; each NFC division rotates through each AFC division every four seasons and the other NFC divisions every three seasons.

In addition, where a team finishes within their division dictates a same-finish matchup with one team from the opposite conference and whichever divisions aren’t in the rotation for that season.

Saints sign free agent offensive linemen Shane Lemieux, Justin Herron

The Saints signed free agent offensive linemen Shane Lemieux and Justin Herron on Monday, adding experienced depth for training camp:

No team accomplished everything it wanted to in the 2024 NFL draft — including the New Orleans Saints, who are still looking to plug holes by signing veteran free agents in the days after the selection event. One obvious vulnerability they need to address is the left guard spot, following James Hurst’s decision to retire.

And here’s a couple of options who could help out. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill reported Monday that the Saints signed former New York Giants guard Shane Lemieux following a free agent tryout. Lemieux, who turns 26 in a few weeks, primarily plays on the left side dating back to his college career at Oregon. He was teammates with former Saints backup Calvin Throckmorton, as well as current Saints tight end Juwan Johnson and safety Ugo Amadi. The Giants drafted Lemieux in fifth round of the 2020 draft but he’s started just a dozen games since.

Underhill adds that the Saints are also signed free agent offensive lineman Justin Herron. A sixth-round pick in 2020 out of Wake Forest (by the New England Patriots), Herron was briefly teammates with Derek Carr on the Las Vegas Raiders. He exclusively played left tackle in college but has seen action on either side of the line in the NFL. It’s a cool full-circle moment with both players being represented by AMDG Sports, an agency founded by former Saints Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley.

While neither of them feel like threats to start for the Saints, it’s important to add experienced backups like these guys to round out the depth chart for training camp. Someone needs to show the new guys the ropes. But maybe they’ll surprise us and excel in Klint Kubiak’s new offense.

Dolphins sign former Giants special teamer Cam Brown

The Dolphins added a special teams ace to their roster by signing Cam Brown.

Former New York Giants special teamer Cam Brown is the newest member of the Miami Dolphins, the team announced Wednesday.

Brown, 26, was a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft and saw limited snaps at linebacker early in his career before settling into a full-time role on special teams. Last season, he appeared on 367 special teams snaps and zero defensive snaps with the Giants.

In four seasons with the Giants, Brown recorded 35 tackles and two forced fumbles, including one in Week 12 of the 2023 season:

With new kickoff rules set to debut in the 2024 season, the Dolphins have added a couple players who could help on special teams, including former Bills defensive back Siran Neal. Miami also brought back Elijah Campbell and Braxton Berrios.

The Dolphins allowed 12.2 yards per punt return in 2023, fifth most in the NFL, and 30.5 yards per kick return, the most in the NFL. Miami allowed a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown against the Denver Broncos and a 96-yard punt return touchdown against the Buffalo Bills.

49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky punts ball out of Giants’ Oracle Park in San Francisco

The Giants celebrated the home opener in San Francisco with the help of Mitch Wishnowsky and other members of the 49ers.

After seven games on the road, the San Francisco Giants finally returned to the Bay Area for their first game of the season at Oracle Park. To help celebrate the home opener Friday, the Giants welcomed a few members of the San Franciso 49ers to Willie Mays Plaza.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Fred Warner stepped to the mound for traditional first pitches before the Giants hosted the San Diego Padres. However, the Giants had something special in mind for 49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky.

Wishnowsky marked the Giants home opener with a ceremonial “first punt.” The 49ers punter launched a football from right field into the water of McCovey Cove.

Two more teams emerge as suitors for Jameis Winston

Two more teams emerged as suitors for Jameis Winston. He isn’t lacking for options as free agency takes shape:

Jameis Winston isn’t lacking for options outside the New Orleans Saints. CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson repots that the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants are “among new teams that’ve shown preliminary interest” in Winston, along with the previously-reported Cleveland Browns.

Winston has said he intends to search for a team where he can compete to start, and the Titans look like the best fit — the only person standing in his way is second-year quarterback Will Levis, who wasn’t drafted by the new Tennessee coaching staff. Levis started nine games as a rookie, completing 58.4% of his passes, scoring 8 touchdown passes, and throwing 4 interceptions while being sacked 28 times with 7 fumbles. The Titans went 3-6 before overhauling their coaching staff.

Compare that to the other two situations, where the Browns and Giants must start Deshaun Watson and Daniel Jones after paying them so highly. At the same time, both of those quarterbacks missed extensive time with injuries last season, so these could be better opportunities for Winston to get on the field than they first appear. We’ll see where he ends up, but it’s looking like he won’t necessarily have to stay with the Saints in 2024.

The New Orleans Saints have fallen into a slump in life without Drew Brees and Sean Payton, but the Who Dat Nation is still showing up and supporting their team. They’re certainly bringing a stronger presence to the Caesars Superdome than most teams around the league.
