Noah Baumann transferred to Georgia from USC ahead of the 2021 season. He has NCAA Tournament experience and is a good long-distance shooter.

Baumann, a senior guard, is one of numerous Georgia basketball players in the transfer portal. Baumann averaged 8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 22 minutes per game for Georgia in 2021-2022. The Dawgs struggled and finished last place in the SEC.

Baumann played in 31 games in 2020-2021 for USC, but he only played an average of 11 minutes per game.  Baumann played with San Jose State from 2017-2019 before coming to USC.

During his final season with San Jose State, Baumann scored 10.8 points per game and shot an impressive 45.5% from 3-point territory. At 6-foot-6, Baumann has good size and will be a key addition for Grand Canyon, which finished 4th in the WAC last season.

Baumann signed with San Jose State as a two-star recruit from Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jailyn Ingram, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Kario Oquendo, and Braelen Bridges are Georgia’s remaining scholarship players from last season on the roster. Head coach Mike White and Georgia added Longwood guard Justin Hill via the transfer portal to give the Georgia Bulldogs some much needed experience and talent for the 2022 season.

Georgia head coach Mike White faces the challenge of replacing almost his entire roster. He has playing time to offer to transfers and recruits, but it is challenging to replace 10 players in one offseason.

Georgia basketball’s Sahvir Wheeler announces transfer destination

Georgia Bulldogs point guard Sahvir Wheeler is staying in the SEC East and is transferring to the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program.

Former Georgia Bulldog point guard Sahvir Wheeler is staying in the SEC East. Wheeler, a former four-star recruit, is transferring to the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program.

Georgia basketball will have a lot of new faces on the team for the 2021-2022 college basketball season. Georgia finished the 2020-2021 season with a 14-12 record. The Dawgs went 7-11 in SEC play.

Wheeler will give John Calipari and Kentucky the point guard they’ve been looking for. The Wildcats struggled last season and finished with a 9-16 record.

Georgia’s loss will be Kentucky’s gain. The Bulldogs will likely face Wheeler and the Wildcats twice next season.

Wheeler averaged 14.0 points and 7.4 assists per game for Georgia last season.

He will be immediately eligible for Kentucky.

He just finished his sophomore season at Georgia, but technically has three years of eligibility remaining because the 2020-2021 season did not count against his or any college basketball player’s eligibility.

Kentucky is bringing in the No. 6 ranked recruiting class of 2021 in the country. The Wildcats should improve and will be very talented once again. Kentucky has signed the No. 3 point guard in the class of 2021 in TyTy Washington.

Georgia basketball lands UVA transfer, former elite recruit

The Georgia Bulldogs have added another transfer in Jabri Abdur-Rahim, a former Virginia Cavaliers guard.

The Georgia Bulldogs have added another transfer, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, who played sparingly for the Virginia Cavaliers last season. Abdur-Rahim is a former four-star shooting forward recruit, who is 6 feet, 7 inches.

Tom Crean and Georgia have added multiple transfers to fill holes left by the players who have transferred out of the Georgia program. The transfer portal is filled with players this offseason, so it is good that Georgia has replenished their roster to an extent.

Jabri Abdur-Rahim was ranked as the No. 38 recruit in the class of 2020. He played one season with the Cavaliers before entering the NCAA transfer portal. Abdur-Rahim will look for more playing time in Athens and is reuniting with his former AAU teammate Sahvir Wheeler.

At Virginia, Abdur-Rahim appeared in eight games, which were all blowouts. In Abdur-Rahim’s defense, Virginia’s Pack Line defensive scheme is tough to learn and its playing style is quite different from most basketball teams.

Abdur-Rahim played high school basketball at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey. He was rated the No. 6 shooting forward in the country and the No. 2 prospect from New Jersey. Abdur-Rahim will have multiple years of eligibility at the University of Georgia.
