Ohio State football names ‘dudes of the week’ for week ending July 13

Look for this trio to be a big part of things this fall! #GoBucks

As we get closer and closer to the start of the Ohio State football season, we continue to get some behind the scenes news on what’s going on over at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center as the team preps for the start of fall camp in early August.

The OSU creative team is always active on social media, and we’ve seen it reveal what the program is tabbing “dudes of the week” throughout the summer, and we’re always interested to see what players are recognized. It can sometimes give us an idea of who is performing at a high level in practice.

We just heard who those “dudes of the week” are for the week ending July 13, and there’s a trio of Buckeyes who were announced on X. Those three players are defensive lineman Ty Hamilton, tight end Gee Scott Jr., and receiver Emeka Egbuka.

Wouldn’t it be something if Scott is starting to pay dividends after kind of toiling close to a starting spot and become a weapon at the tight end position? Either way, here’s a look at the social media post that recognized the three veteran Ohio State players.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on what players seem to be getting the recognition as we go through this whole thing and try to bring you the news.

Social media reacts to Gee Scott Jr. Touchdown vs. Rutgers

Some of the best social media reactions to a touchdown reception from Kyle McCord to Gee Scott Jr. #GoBucks

Midway through the first quarter on the road against Rutgers, Ohio State has a 7-0 lead with a 14 yard touchdown catch from Gee Scott Jr.

The Buckeyes got the ball with good field position at their own 46 yard-line after the defense forced a three and out and a bad snap from Rutgers led to a muffed punt.

A few good runs by Treveyon Henderson and 10-yard completion to Emeka Egbuka, who returned this week after missing the last three games with injury, set the Buckeyes up in the red zone where McCord found Scott Jr. in the end zone who made a tough contested catch for a touchdown. What did X, formerly known as Twitter, think about it?

We have the some of the best reactions to share.
