Kick-off time, TV channel announced for LSU’s key SEC matchup vs. Alabama

The Tigers will host Alabama under the lights in what could be the de facto SEC West championship..

When Alabama comes to Baton Rouge on Nov. 5 for a game that will likely decide the SEC West, it will be under the lights at Death Valley.

On Monday, LSU announced that its Week 10 home matchup against the Crimson Tide will be a night game at Tiger Stadium, kicking off at 6 p.m. CT. It will be televised on ESPN.

With LSU’s win over Ole Miss on Saturday, it enters the bye tied with the Crimson Tide atop the division with a 4-1 record in conference play. It will be one of two de facto division titles in the SEC that day, as Georgia will also host Tennessee in a game that should decide the East.

This series has been lopsided in recent years. LSU’s win en route to a national championship in 2019 was its first since 2011. Since then, the Crimson Tide have won the last two matchups. But they look vulnerable this year, and LSU has a major opportunity that didn’t look very possible in Year 1 under [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag].

Texas Football: What the Longhorns need to do down the final stretch

Breaking down the three areas that the Texas Longhorns need to improve in the final stretch of the 2020 College Football Season.

Seven games are now in the books for the Texas Longhorns. Only Kansas, Iowa State and Kansas State remain on the schedule. The football team isn’t where maybe they thought they would, when I did the preseason predictions to this point in the season they were projected to be 6-1. Only a game off but the loss was thought to come against Oklahoma State and not on back-to-back weekends against Texas Christian and Oklahoma.

The Mike Yurcich offense was supposed to enhance the level of play by quarterback Sam Ehlinger. While it looked promising early on, he has since cooled off a bit. Could it be that he is missing his top two receivers from last year? Perhaps. Could it be that he isn’t healthy? Well there is that too. Or could it be that we are seeing a regression? All of these could be true. It is one area of improvement needed.

Texas has to take it one game at a time as cliché as that sounds. It will all start against the Jayhawks on Nov. 21 in Lawrence. Once that game is out of the way, the team will have just six days to get ready for their last home game of the season against Iowa State. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, here are the three things that the Longhorns need to do in their final three games.

Kickoff time set for Notre Dame’s trip to Wake Forest

Get the kegs and eggs finished early when Notre Dame travels to Wake Forest because kickoff will be happening before noon in the midwest!

It’s not all that often you get to see Notre Dame kick a game off at noon central time but we’ll all be getting that chance on Saturday, Sept. 26 when the Irish travel to take on Wake Forest.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina but was moved after COVID-19 changed those plans.  As of now there will not be any fans in attendance.

You can catch the game on ABC.

Although the 2019 Camping World Bowl was a 12:00 p.m. ET kick, no other Notre Dame games last year kicked off that early.  This will in fact be Notre Dame’s first noon ET kickoff since their last trip to Wake Forest in late September of 2018.

The Demon Deacons lost their season opener at home to No. 1 Clemson, 37-13.
