Kickoff time and TV channel revealed for Wisconsin vs Nebraska

Kickoff time and TV channel revealed for Wisconsin vs Nebraska

Wisconsin looks to end its two-game losing streak this Saturday at home against the 4-5 Northwestern Wildcats.

The Badgers’ season has taken a turn since a win over Rutgers more than a month ago. The team fell at home to rival Iowa, barely scraped by Illinois on the road, lost to then-No. 3 Ohio State and just capped off a terrible stretch with a road loss to a bad Indiana team. After Luke Fickell and Chris McIntosh promised championships in the offseason, this is not the start anybody had in mind.

While the Big Ten West is likely out of reach, or at least should be. Wisconsin does have three games yet to play. Again, the first of which is this Saturday against Northwestern.

Then Wisconsin gets Nebraska. It’ll be an interesting matchup given each hired high-profile head coaches this offseason and the result could signal one’s trajectory being better than the other’s.

Wisconsin football announced today that the November 18 Nebraska contest will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. central on NBC.

Texas CB D’Shawn Jamison: ‘I wish the OU game was at night’

Everybody’s favorite offseason topic is the kickoff for the Red River Shootout. Texas CB D’Shawn Jamison believes it should be at night.

Outside of debating the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry, everybody’s favorite offseason topic is the kickoff time for the Red River Shootout.

Texas-Oklahoma has been playing at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas since the 1932 season. Traditionally, the game has kicked off during the 11 a.m. or 2:30 window. For years, fans have been asking for a night game between the two bitter rivals.

Even players want in on the action.

For the first time since the 2017 matchup, ESPN will get to broadcast Texas-OU. Fox used the rivalry as their Big Noon Kickoff from 2018-2020, but the worldwide leader has yet to announce a start time for the 2021 edition.

Texas cornerback D’Shawn Jamison has begun to campaign for the later kickoff time to finally happen. “I wish the OU game was at night,” Jamison said via Twitter on Wednesday.

Now, there are multiple reasons as to why a night game could be seen as a hazard. First off, no matter when kickoff is, both Texas and Oklahoma fans are going to begin their festivities before sunrise. By 11 a.m., some can already be feeling good. Now imagine a full 12 hours.

Others will argue Fair Park would not be the safest area when the sun goes down. However, the State Fair Classic between Grambling State and Prarie View A&M kicked off at 4 p.m. in 2019. By the end of the game, it would have been dark. It can be done.

Premier games going up against Texas-Oklahoma on Oct. 9 include Auburn-Georgia, Alabama-Texas A&M (one of these will be a 2:30 CBS kickoff), and Notre Dame-Virginia Tech.

The Red River Shootout will undoubtedly the biggest and closest game of the day. Hopefully, ESPN/ABC considers scheduling a later kickoff.

Kickoff time set for Notre Dame’s trip to Wake Forest

Get the kegs and eggs finished early when Notre Dame travels to Wake Forest because kickoff will be happening before noon in the midwest!

It’s not all that often you get to see Notre Dame kick a game off at noon central time but we’ll all be getting that chance on Saturday, Sept. 26 when the Irish travel to take on Wake Forest.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina but was moved after COVID-19 changed those plans.  As of now there will not be any fans in attendance.

You can catch the game on ABC.

Although the 2019 Camping World Bowl was a 12:00 p.m. ET kick, no other Notre Dame games last year kicked off that early.  This will in fact be Notre Dame’s first noon ET kickoff since their last trip to Wake Forest in late September of 2018.

The Demon Deacons lost their season opener at home to No. 1 Clemson, 37-13.
