WATCH: Baker Mayfield’s wife defends comments about ‘fair weather fans’

The 2019 season has not been kind to the Browns or quarterback Baker Mayfield.

The 2019 season has not been kind to the Browns or quarterback Baker Mayfield.

This week, Mayfield’s wife Emily took to Instagram to defend her husband and his team … then had to defend herself.

Late Monday, Mrs. Mayfield posted a black screen to her IG story with a short note reading, “Fairweather fans are HILARIOUS TO ME. Get out of here.”

Browns’ fans did not take kindly to the message. Tuesday, Emily clarified that she noted talking about legitimate Cleveland fans (which, to be fair, would not have had a real opportunity to be “fair weather,” during the actual season). The former first overall draft pick’s with explained she, “didn’t expect to ruffle so many feathers,” adding “No, I was not directing that at the die-hard, loyal fans who have stuck around for years. I’m talking about the idiots who say horrible things about my husband and the team when we lose and are obsessing when we win. That is laughable to me.”

Emily added one final note, “…loyal fans, I see you!”

The Browns are 3-6, better than only the winless Bengals in the division, and host the Steelers (5-4) Thursday.

WATCH: Saquon Barkley on idea of being shut down for season: ‘It won’t happen.’

Reigning NFL Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley is continuing to deal with an ankle injury, but he insists he has no plans to sit and rest the lower limb.

The Giants season is far from a winning one as the team sits at 2-8. Reigning NFL Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley is continuing to deal with an ankle injury, but he insists he has no plans to sit and rest the lower limb or to nurse a new shoulder injury that required an x-ray following Week 10’s game.

Barkley missed weeks four, five and six then returned to action. Sunday, though, the star was all but eliminated from Giants 34-27 loss to the Jets (2-7) — he gained merely one yard on 13 attempts.

Tuesday, Barkley made it clear that the idea of him shutting things down for his health is far from one he likes.

“The mindset of sitting me out and resting me for the rest of the season is beyond me,” Barkley said, via Jordan Raanan of ESPN. “I do not agree with it. It won’t happen. I’m going to keep going until I can’t go no more. That’s the player I am and I’m going to do it for my teammates.”

Barkley averages a poor 2.6 yards per attempt since returning from his ankle sprain and the upper body issue makes him weaker than his norm from top to bottom, but expect the competitor to keep playing.

WATCH: Steph Curry expects to return to the court this spring

Steph Curry says he expects to return to the court this spring as he recovers from a broken left hand.

Steph Curry says he expects to return to the court this spring as he recovers from a broken left hand.

The Golden State Warriors star told reporters Monday night that — despite a report from a few days ago saying he could miss the entire year — he is rehabbing his hand with the expectation that he will play this season.

Curry broke his left hand Oct. 30 against the Phoenix Suns, coming down on it awkwardly on a drive to the basket. He said he has already had one surgery but will need a second procedure next month to have the pins removed, requiring more recovery time.

Bode Miller delivers wife’s twin boys after midwife is late

Olympic Gold Medalist skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan welcome identical twin boys into the world on Nov. 8, but dad played more than just a parenting role in the delivery.

Olympic Gold Medalist skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan welcome identical twin boys into the world on Nov. 8, but dad played more than just a parenting role in the delivery.

The couple shared their unique birthing story publicly on Tuesday, explaining how their midwife did not show up in time for the birth and Bode helped deliver the babies instead. The 42-year-old former Olympian had help from his mother, who is a former midwife, but still described the experience as, “one of the more crazy things I’ve ever experienced.”

Morgan shared a picture of her newest baby boys on her Instagram page, writing “November 8th✨ A day that couldn’t have been scripted and aligned more perfectly to bring these two into the world. The birth story is mind-blowing and can’t wait to share. Insanely overwhelmed and grateful for all these gifts my baby girl keeps sending.”

The Millers now have four sons as the twins join their older brothers, Edward and Easton, in the household. The couple lost their 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, in a drowning accident about a year ago while Morgan was pregnant with Easton. The reference to the Millers’ “baby girl,” is a nod to their lost child, who the couple believes is a part of them having twins. When Morgan shared her pregnancy announcement, she wrote ““we knew Emmy had her hands in this miracle somehow.”

Bode has said publicly he wanted twin boys. The twins have two other older siblings as Bode also has a daughter and a son who are not Morgan’s children.
