2023 defensive lineman Terrance Green is nearing his college decision.

The four-star Cypress native is set to announce his commitment on Aug. 1. He will pick between his top five schools of Florida, Michigan State, Miami, Oregon and Texas.

Green is listed as the No. 44 defensive lineman in the nation and just outside the state of Texas’ top 50 prospects according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

At 6-foot-5, 265-pounds, Green was a problem for opposing offenses at Cypress Woods High School his junior season. He racked up 40 total tackles including 11.5 for loss and six sacks. Green also competes in high school track and field events during the offseason.

Three crystal balls are currently entered for Green in favor of the Oregon Ducks. He took an official visit Eugene in June and came away impressed.

Texas among top schools for four-star DL Hunter Osborne

Texas made the cut along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU and Tennessee.

Texas is continuing to build its recruiting presence in SEC territory.

Talented defensive lineman from Alabama Hunter Osborne announced the top six schools left in his recruitment. Texas made the cut along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU and Tennessee.

Osborne recorded 60 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and nine pass breakups as a junior for Hewitt-Trussville High School, the same school Texas freshman Juscite Finkley attended.

247Sprots recruiting analyst Cooper Petanga had strong remarks about Osburne in his scouting report.

Sudden rusher, moves efficiency in his pass rush. Can win with speed, quickness, and power. Shows the ability to go speed to power at the point of attack, plays with a good understanding of leverage and body control. Closes space quickly and flashes excellent backside pursuit ability. Oklahoma Sooners extend offer to 2023 4-star DL Stephiylan Green out of Georgia

The Oklahoma Sooners look to add to their defensive line ranks with an offer to 2023 four-star defensive lineman Stephiylon Green.

Oklahoma has been working hard to add defensive line talent since Brent Venables took over as the Sooners’ head coach.

Given his bringing along former Clemson assistants Todd Bates and Miguel Chavis, an emphasis has been placed on bolstering the Oklahoma Sooners’ defensive front. It worked at Clemson, helping the Tigers win two national titles, and it’s the foundation of Brent Venables’ defense.

Venables wants to win up front and he has a proven track record of developing defensive linemen into NFL talents. He also realizes that in the SEC, a team can’t afford to be weak along the defensive line. That’s why the coaches have made it a priority.

They recently landed inside the top five for four-star defensive lineman  Kelby Collins, and on Wednesday they extended an offer to another four-star defensive line prospect; Stephiylan Green out of Rome, Georgia.

Green is considered a top 200 prospect according to Rivals and On3 Recruiting. He lands inside the top 300 in both the 247Sports composite and the On3 consensus.

Green is being recruited heavily by defending national champion Georgia and has made three unofficial visits to Athens. The Bulldogs look to be the leader according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine, but don’t count out Venables and Bates as they make their pitch to the talented defensive line prospect.

Green displays impressive quickness and a nice first step off the snap. From a three-technique defensive tackle spot, is adept at rushing the passer. He shows a nice swim move and a powerful bull rush. Green is relentless in pursuit, displaying great effort to chase down quarterbacks and running backs when they run wide. He’s quick and moves incredibly well for a defensive lineman making it incredibly difficult to block him. Even when opposing offensive linemen did get in front of him, his strength pushed them back into the pocket. Also lined up as a nose tackle or zero-technique at times and was effective at collapsing the pocket and getting into the backfield.

Green is a disruptive player that will make a fantastic college player. Even as a high school junior, he displayed tools that could have him playing on Sundays in the NFL.

Oklahoma Sooners land former Oregon commit and 2022 4-star DL Gracen Halton

The Oklahoma Sooners added another four-star talent in defensive lineman Gracen Halton on national signing day.

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to add new players to their 2022 recruiting class. After Gentry Williams signed his national letter of intent earlier today, the Sooners announced that former Oregon commit Gracen Halton will be joining the Oklahoma Sooners as well.

Halton, who decommitted from the Ducks last week, was a new target for the Sooners since Brent Venables, Todd Bates, and Miguel Chavis came on board. Gracen Halton’s commitment opened up once Oregon experienced a coaching change that saw Mario Cristobal head to Miami and the Ducks bring in former Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator Dan Lanning in to be their next head coach.

Halton, is a four-star defensive lineman who could potentially fill a role similar to Isaiah Thomas. Someone who is likely a defensive end on early downs but could rush from the interior in Ted Roof and Brent Venables’ defense.

Four-star DL Justice Finkley commits to Texas over Alabama, Colorado

After commitments on back-to-back days from Jaray Bledsoe and J’Mond Tapp last week, another defensive lineman has decided to jump into the class.

It’s been a good week for Texas on and off the field. Saturday saw a convincing win over Louisiana at home. A ton of momentum is going to be carried into a tough environment at Arkansas.

Recruiting has been a strong suit as well, especially on the defensive line. Coach Bo Davis has been doing miracle work with some of the country’s top prospects.

After back-to-back commitments from Jaray Bledsoe and J’Mond Tapp last Monday, another defensive lineman has decided to jump into the class.

Four-star Justice Finkley committed to Texas over Alabama and Colorado on Thursday afternoon. Being from Trussville, AL, Steve Sarkisian was able to go into his old stomping ground and get a win over Nick Saban.

Finkley and his family took an official visit to Austin on July 25. He got to meet with Sarkisian himself and Pete Kwiatkowski, his main recruiter per 247Sports. Where the four-star will play in the defensive coordinator’s defense is yet to be known.

With a move to the SEC pending, stocking up in the trenches was going to be critical for Texas. After Tom Herman’s recruiting classes were built based on skill position players, Sarkisian’s staff has heavily focused on the defensive line.

A huge victory over the Crimson Tide in their own backyard.

On the 247Sports composite, Finkley ranks as the No. 112 overall player and the No. 19 defensive lineman in the country. Within the state of Alabama, he is the No. 6 prospect.

Although Kwiatkowski can be credited with this recruiting victory, Bo Davis has done a remarkable job across the defensive line. Most of his work has been outside of the state of Texas as well.

  • Four-star DL Justice Finkley (AL)
  • Four-star DL Jaray Bledsoe (TX)
  • Four-star edge J’Mond Tapp (LA)
  • Four-star DL Kristopher Ross (TX)
  • Four-star edge Derrick Brown (TX)
  • Four-star DL Aaron Bryant (MS)
  • Four-star DL Zac Swanson (UT)

The best part is, Finkley could be the best of the bunch.

He could end up playing the same role Ovie Oghoufo did over the weekend against Louisiana. Potentially at jack as well.

Finkley’s 6-4, 255-pound frame will not be big enough to play inside from the beginning. If Davis wants him to get there, some serious lifting and weight gain will have to occur.

Texas beginning to trend for four-star defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe

With the momentum Bo Davis has created, Texas could be closing in on four-star defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe.

Nobody has done a better job on the recruiting trail early in the Steve Sarkisian era than defensive line coach Bo Davis. He has already locked down three commitments, the latest being four-star Aaron Bryant on Thursday afternoon.

There are a couple of other targets still on the board for Texas, one of those is four-star Jaray Bledsoe. Only taking visits to Austin and College Station over the course of the summer, everything seems to be trending toward another classic Lone Star Showdown.

With all of the momentum Davis has created, it seems as if Texas could be closing in on Bledsoe, getting a much-needed win over Texas A&M. Two predictions have come in for the good guys as well.

Nick Harris and Mike Roach, both of Horns247, have inserted crystal ball predictions for Bledsoe in favor of the Longhorns. Each with a confidence score of seven.

Bledsoe recently switched high schools, moving to Marlin, TX. Being a 2A program, seeing an interior defensive lineman listed at 6-foot-4, 270-pounds at such a low level is scary.

You can see videos of the four-star dominating in scrimmage below:

Before heading to the SEC, Texas knows they need to beef up on both of the lines. Davis has done his job, with a couple more prospects pending. Bledsoe could be the cherry on top alongside Bryant, Kristopher Ross, and Zac Swanson.

On the 247Sports composite, Bledsoe is the No. 21 defensive lineman in the country and No. 123 in the country. Within the state of Texas, he ranks as a top 25 player, squeezing in at No. 23.
