We’re into the second day of the 2020 NFL Combine drills, which you can stream live on FuboTV. Today will be the running backs, offensive linemen and special teams players all strutting their stuff on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The first day saw the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends run through the gauntlet. While there was no new fastest 40-yard dash time set with Henry Ruggs III running it in 4.27 seconds, today’s group has some players who could be a threat to the record. John Ross set the current fastest 40-yard dash back in 2017 with a 4.22-second time but keep an eye out for Louisiana running back Raymond Calais and Western Michigan running back LeVante Bellamy as potential record setters.

In today’s group, another standout could very well be Arizona State punter Michael Turk, who put up 25 reps on the bench press yesterday — beating 86 of the 109 total prospects to lift so far. With a shocking display already on record, who knows what Turk will end up doing with the rest of the drills.

The 2020 NFL Combine could also help decide how many running backs end up going in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Many pundits have both Georgia’s D’Andre Swift and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor going in the first round but a bad performance could drop the group down while an impressive showing could have the top back go off the board quickly.

This might be the most prized group for a handful of reasons. Both Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa are trying to become the No. 1 pick in the draft while Jalen Hurts is simply trying to prove to the league that he should be considered a quarterback. With as many as five quarterbacks potentially going in the first round, this is a group to watch carefully when they hit the field to do passing drills.

This wide receiver group has been considered one of the deepest classes in recent memory. But the praise for the group isn’t just about depth, guys like CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III are all trying to make a case for being the top pass-catcher off the board. We also have some competitors trying to dethrone now-Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross for the fastest 40-yard dash but they’ll have to beat his 4.22-second time set in 2017.

Troy Pride, Jr. Listed as Contender for Fastest 40 Time at NFL Combine

For what it’s worth, wide receiver John Ross of Washington ran a 4.22 40 yard dash at the 2017 NFL Combine which is the recorded for fastest dash to this day.

A ton has been made about Troy Pride, Jr. who we discussed last week for despite not having the most impressive statline, having quite a resume and seemingly having his stock rise ahead of the NFL Draft.

Pride’s coverage skills were always good at Notre Dame even if his size isn’t exactly that of a traditional NFL cornerback, at least not of the traditionally sized stars.

However, his speed is truly elite. The former track team member at Notre Dame ran a 10.5 second 100 meter dash at the ACC Outdoor Championships in 2018, good enough for a fifth place finish before he moved on from track and focused solely on football.

The USA TODAY tried to guess who will run the fastest 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine this week and named a few of the favorites to walk away with the fastest time. Pride is by no means their pick but he’s listed with the following writeup:

One of our earlier picks as a sleeper to watch at the combine, Pride could seize the stage at the combine by following a standout Senior Bowl with another impressive workout. Pride said he’s “way faster now” than when Notre Dame hand-timed him at 4.30, and he was recognized as one of the Athletic Coast Conference’s top sprinters during his freshman and sophomore years.
