The Chargers are out to pick up their first win in the Jim Harbaugh era right out of the gate. They open as slight favorites over the Raiders in Week 1 of their 2024 campaign following the release of the team’s schedule.

FanDuel Sportsbook has Los Angeles as a 3.5-point favorite, which indicates that they expect the game to be fairly close in the divisional bout.

Las Vegas still has questions at the quarterback position, as their only move was signing Gardner Minshew without electing to draft a quarterback. They did lose running back Joshua Jacobs but also added a big-time defensive playmaker in Christian Wilkins.

The Chargers made a slew of roster moves, most notably dumping wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. But they did add a handful of players on both sides of the ball. Harbaugh envisions a tough and physical team. Will that materialize from the jump?

The last time the two teams faced off this past season, the Raiders badly beat the Chargers, 63-21. This loss led to the firings of former head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco, who now holds the same role in Las Vegas.

Betting line sees big shift in Oregon Ducks vs. Ohio State Buckeyes 2024 matchup

We’re seeing an odds shift in the 2024 marquee matchup between Ohio State and Oregon.

The 2024 college football season is still several months away, but there is one date circled on the calendar this far out.

October 12, 2024.

On that day, the Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks, and we will get what will undoubtedly be one of the best regular season games of the year, and a potential preview of the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game.

It will be Ryan Day vs. Dan Lanning, Will Howard vs. Dillon Gabriel, and Quinshon Judkins vs. Jordan James. A matchup with this much intrigue has already gotten people talking, and sportsbooks were early to set a betting line, with FanDuel Sportsbook listing the Ducks as a 1.5-point favorite back in January.

Recently, though, we saw a shift in the betting odds. Now, FanDuel has the visiting Buckeyes listed as a 1.5-point favorite following the spring football season. Ohio State is also -115 on the moneyline, with Oregon at -104, and the over/under has been set at 57.5.

Regardless of who comes out on top, this projects to be an incredible matchup with some of the best players in the nation on a big stage. It also has a good chance to be a conference championship preview, and could very well be a College Football Playoff preview as well.

While a large number of former Ducks will likely be playing on Sundays next season, one of the most intriguing is quarterback Bo Nix.

Nix seems to be a polarizing figure in the world of draft analysis. Some think he could be a first-round pick who comes off the board as soon as the early teens. Others believe he has a middle-to-late second-round grade.

The Oregon Ducks have one of the highest win totals for the 2024 college football season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The past couple of months in college football have been spent with teams across the nation jockeying for positions by making additions to their roster through the transfer portal and high school recruiting ranks. Now that we are hurdling towards the spring football season, it’s about to be time for fans to get a look at what those new-look rosters actually shape out to be, which will give us a better sense of who will lead the way in the upcoming historic 2024 season.

For the most part, we already have a pretty decent sense of who is going to be at the top of the sport, though, with some traditional powers like Georgia and Ohio State taking early pole position, while other players like Texas and Oregon get set for what could be successful campaigns as well.

This past week, FanDuel Sportsbook set out their initial win-total bets for the season, setting over/unders for each team in the Power 4 conferences. The Ducks are projected to be one of the best teams in the nation, so it makes sense that their win total is among the highest in the sport going into the spring.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Aggies have opened as 1.5-point favorites for their clash with Notre Dame on Aug. 31. The Fighting Irish will be led by senior quarterback Riley Leonard, who transferred to South Bend, Indiana on Dec. 12 after three years at Duke.

Leonard spent his last two seasons playing for Elko in Durham, North Carolina, which adds even more to the highly-anticipated kickoff to the 2024 campaign. The coach and signal-caller duo went 9-4 in 2022 which earned ACC Coach of the Year honors for Elko. The Blue Devils started the 2023 season 4-3, Leonard suffered a toe injury during a Week 8 loss at Louisville and he never played for Duke again.

With the College Football Playoff expanding to 12 teams this year, the much wider path to a national championship begins on the final day of August against Notre Dame.

The Chargers are out to prove that they’re better than their first-round playoff exit last season, and will open as slight favorites over the Dolphins in Week 1 of their 2023 campaign following the release of the team’s schedule.

DraftKings Sportsbook has Los Angeles as a 2.5-point favorite, which indicates that they expect the game to be fairly close between the rising AFC powerhouses.

Led by Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and the newest addition, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Dolphins won’t be an easy out for the Chargers and are expected to compete with the Bills for the AFC East crown in 2023.

Though it is too early to tell what either team’s 53-man roster might look like in early September, this matchup is set to be one of the more intriguing games on the schedule for Week 1.

The last time the two teams faced off this past season, the Chargers won in a close affair, 23-17.
