Falcons OL Chris Lindstrom questionable to return vs. Bucs

The Falcons have lost another offensive lineman against the Buccaneers. Chris Lindstrom is questionable to return with an ankle injury

The Atlanta Falcons have lost yet another offensive lineman against the Buccaneers. Right guard Chris Lindstrom is officially questionable to return with an ankle injury, ESPN’s Michael Rothstein is reporting.

Filling in for Lindstrom at right guard is reserve Kyle Hinton. The Falcons lost left tackle Jake Matthews after entering the game without center Drew Dalman and right tackle Kaleb McGary.

UPDATE: Lindstrom has returned to begin the second half.

The Falcons currently trail 12-10 to the Buccaneers at halftime. Wide receiver Drake London leads the team in receiving yards and tight end Kyle Pitts caught a 36-yard touchdown.

Arthur Smith gives update on rookie WR Drake London’s injury

Falcons coach Arthur Smith has no long-term concerns about Drake London’s injury but says the rookie will likely miss practice this week.

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t have to wait long for rookie WR Drake London to make his presence felt during Friday’s opener. On the team’s opening drive, QB Marcus Mariota connected with London on a drag route that went for 24 yards.

Unfortunately, London tweaked his knee and did not return to the game, although it was later reported that the injury was not serious. London, the No. 8 overall selection in this year’s draft, was nowhere to be seen on Sunday.

After practice, Falcons coach Arthur Smith said he has no long-term concerns about London’s injury. However, Smith also said the rookie will likely miss practice this week, per ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.

On the bright side, London can clearly play at the NFL level. His lone catch in Friday’s preseason win over the Lions was enough to lead the team in receiving yards.

Atlanta would be wise to take a conservative approach with London for the remainder of the preseason with the hope that he can return healthy for Week 1 against the Saints.

Raheem Morris says CB Darqueze Dennard is close to returning

Morris said Dennard is “getting close” to coming back, as reported by Jason Butt of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Atlanta Falcons’ secondary has gotten very few breaks this season, but things could be looking up. Head coach Raheem Morris gave an update on the status of nickel CB Darqueze Dennard, who’s eligible to return this week from the injured reserve list after sitting out the previous three games.

Morris said Dennard is “getting close” to coming back, as reported by Jason Butt of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution below.

Prior to leaving the Falcons’ Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears with a hamstring injury, Dennard was playing well. He had just come down with a potentially game-sealing interception, but exited the game before the Bears came back to win.

Dennard would be a welcome addition to Atlanta’s secondary, which has been getting healthier in recent weeks. We’ll see if he can practice this week in preparation for Sunday’s matchup with the Detroit Lions (2-3).
