NFL Week 3 picks: Who the experts are taking in Commanders vs. Bills

Hardly any of the “experts” are picking the Commanders on Sunday.

Can the Washington Commanders pull off the upset against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3?

Las Vegas doesn’t think so, listing the Bills as six-point favorites in Sunday’s clash from FedEx Field. However, Washington has defied the odds before under head coach Ron Rivera. Last week, the Commanders were road underdogs at Denver. We know how that one turned out.

Unfortunately for Washington, the Bills aren’t the Broncos; they’re a lot better. Quarterback Josh Allen is a superstar, and Buffalo’s defense is one of the best in the NFL.

So, what do the so-called experts think of Sunday’s game between the Bills and Commanders? According to NFL Pickwatch, as expected, Buffalo is the overwhelming favorite, with 92% of the 327 expert picks favoring the Bills.

The Commanders have faced these types of odds before. Remember last week’s Monday night game between the Commanders and the then-unbeaten Eagles?

Can Washington pull off another big win? If so, it would be safe to say that people may start taking the Commanders seriously.

Colts vs. Ravens: NFL experts make Week 3 picks

Here are the expert picks for the Week 3 matchup between the Colts and Ravens.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-1) are preparing for a Week 3 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams are coming off divisional road wins, and both teams are dealing with some serious injuries. The Colts will be without rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson and starting center Ryan Kelly while the Ravens will be without roughly seven starters.

Vegas has the Colts sitting as sizeable underdogs on the road in this matchup. Here’s how the experts around the league see this matchup shaking out:

Over at Tallysight, 98% of the analysts have the Ravens walking away with a victory in this game. In terms of the spread, 63% of analysts believe the Ravens will cover an 8.5-point spread.

Even without Richardson and Kelly, this game could be more competitive than the spread indicates. The weather is likely to play a major factor and could limit each side’s passing attacks.

It’s no surprise the Colts are underdogs in this matchup and for the first time in the Shane Steichen era, we will get to see how they respond to being viewed as heavy underdogs.

Who are the experts picking in Panthers vs. Seahawks?

Unsurprisingly, the experts have very little faith in the Panthers for their Week 3 trip to Seattle.

What do the NFL experts think about the Carolina Panthers’ chances against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday? Well, what are you really expecting for an 0-2 team with major offensive struggles that’s about to field their backup 35-year-old quarterback?

Here are the picks for the Week 3 matchup:

Week 3 NFL game picks: Who the experts are taking in Saints vs. Packers | @DillySanders

The New Orleans Saints will try to find their way to a 3-0 start as they stay on the road in Week 3, this time taking on the Green Bay Packers. The Saints defense looks like it’s playing as good as anyone, but the offense has yet to consistently answer the call. Though they did lose Jamaal Williams for a little bit, the Saints will be getting rookie running back Kendre Miller back. Packers quarterback Jordan Love is trying to prove the team right after they turned to him when Aaron Rodgers left for New York.

Green Bay is favored (narrowly, at BetMGM) to win at home on Sunday. But what are the experts predicting? Let’s take a look at 50 of them:

NFL Week 2 picks: Who the experts are taking in Commanders vs. Broncos

The experts favor the Broncos in Week 2.

It’s Week 2 of the NFL season, and the Washington Commanders have a chance to start 2-0 for the first time since the 2011 season. To put things into perspective, that was when Mike Shanahan was in his second season as Washington’s head coach and one year before the then-Redskins selected quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins in the NFL draft.

Washington’s opposition in Week 2 is the Denver Broncos. Denver enters Sunday’s game 0-1 after last week’s 17-16 home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Denver is hosting the 1998 Super Bowl XXXIII championship team. Could the Commanders spoil that celebration?

As we get closer to Sunday’s kickoff, the experts have weighed in on Sunday’s meeting between the Commanders and Broncos. And, according to NFL Pickwatch, the Commanders will not be starting this season 2-0.

Almost 3/4 of the experts picked the Broncos in Week 2, as 74% believe Denver will avoid beginning the season 0-2 in Sean Payton’s first year as head coach.

We shall see on Sunday.

Colts vs. Texans: NFL experts make Week 2 picks

Here’s who the experts are siding with in this Week 2 matchup between the Colts and Texans.

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) are preparing to visit the Houston Texans (0-1) for a Week 2 matchup at NRG Stadium on Sunday.

The oddsmakers in Vegas see this as a very tight matchup with just a one-point spread in favor of the home squad going into the weekend.

Here’s how some of the experts around the league view the divisional matchup:

Nate Davis (USA TODAY) Texans 20-17 Link
Jarrett Bell (USA TODAY) Texans 19-16 Link
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) Colts 19-15 Link

Bill Bender (Sporting News) Colts 20-19 Link
Pete Prisco (CBS Sports) Texans 19-16 Link
Cam DaSilva (Sportsbook Wire) Colts Link
Bleacher Report Colts 24-21 Link

Over at Tallysight, 68% of the analysts have the Colts taking a road victory, and 61% of analysts believe Indy will cover the spread.

The Colts are likely to see the return of running back Zack Moss, who was inactive in Week 1 due to a forearm injury. Meanwhile, the Texans listed rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud as questionable after he popped up on the injury report Friday due to a right shoulder injury.

This should be a close matchup either way, but there’s a strong chance the Colts walk away with their first victory of the season if things go their way.

Week 1 picks: Who the experts are taking in Saints vs. Titans

Week 1 picks: Who the experts are taking in Saints vs. Titans

The New Orleans Saints are seeking to win their fifth consecutive Week 1 kickoff game, but the Tennessee Titans aren’t about to make it easy for them despite having lost several season-opening matchups of their own.

Both teams have a lot to prove after going 7-10 last season with defensive-minded head coaches and veteran quarterbacks at the helm. The Saints worked around the clock to surround Derek Carr with talent, but it remains to be seen if he can get them to the playoffs.

New Orleans is favored (narrowly, by BetMGM) to win at home on Sunday. But what are the experts predicting? Let’s take a look at 50 of them:

NFL Week 1 picks: Who the experts are taking in Commanders vs. Cardinals

The Commanders are the NFL’s most overwhelming favorite for Week 1, according to the experts.

It doesn’t happen too often, at least in recent years, that the Washington Commanders enter a game as the overwhelming favorite. On Sunday, Washington is a 7-point favorite for their Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Commanders are the second-biggest favorite for Week 1, behind the Baltimore Ravens, who are 9.5-point favorites over the Houston Texans, according to BetMGM.

Do the experts agree with the oddsmakers?

Per NFLPickwatch, 100% of the experts who picked Week 1 games picked the Commanders. The next closest overwhelming favorite is the Ravens [99%] over the Texans.

Remember when the Commanders were massive underdogs ahead of that Monday night game in Philadelphia last season? We saw what happened there.

Anything can happen in the NFL, something the Commanders know all too well.

Colts vs. Jaguars: NFL experts make Week 1 picks

The NFL experts and analysts are siding pretty heavily with the Jaguars over the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts are just about set to open the 2023 regular season with a home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Sunday matchup will feature two teams heading in opposite directions. While the Colts have an optimistic future to build toward with a new head coach and franchise quarterback, the Jaguars are the reigning division champions looking to defend their crown.

The oddsmakers in Vegas see the Jaguars coming away with a road win to begin the season. Here’s how some of the experts around the league view the matchup:

Expert Pick Score (if applicable) Link
Nate Davis (USA TODAY) Jaguars 23-16 Link
Jarrett Bell (USA TODAY) Jaguars 28-19 Link
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) Jaguars 25-17 Link
Mike Clay (ESPN) Jaguars Link
Dan Graziano (ESPN) Jaguars Link
NFL Network Jaguars 27-18 Link
Bill Bender (Sporting News) Jaguars 31-21 Link
Pete Prisco (CBS Sports) Jaguars 34-17 Link
Cam DaSilva (Sportsbook Wire) Jaguars Link
Bleacher Report Jaguars 30-16 Link

There shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see the experts erring on the side of caution to begin the season. Over at Tallysight, 96% of the analysts have the Jaguars taking a road victory, and 81% of analysts believe Jacksonville will cover the spread (-5).

So much of the Colts offense is an unknown right now, but there is room for them to surprise the league. Anthony Richardson’s volatile passing may be an issue to begin the season, but his affinity for avoiding sacks will keep the Colts offense on the field. Not to mention, the Jaguars were 26th in sacks during the 2022 season.

It will take a lot for the Colts to pull off the upset and while it’s certainly possible, the experts around the league don’t see that happening.

2023 Honda Classic: Odds, course history, players to watch and picks to win

Can Shane Lowry get his revenge at PGA National after coming oh-so-close last year?

After back-to-back designated events and a long run on the West Coast, the PGA Tour is headed to Florida for the next month, starting with the Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.

Due to its place in the schedule, the field is underwhelming.

Sungjae Im and Billy Horschel are a few of the big names while Sepp Straka returns to defend his title.

This year will mark the end of Honda’s sponsorship of the event as the Tour narrows down the list of potential replacements.

Pierceson Coody, the 2022 PGA Tour University No. 1 and two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner, will make his first start on Tour as a professional.
