Everything Steve Sarkisian said in his week one press conference

Here is a look at everything Sarkisian discussed on Monday.

Game week is finally here as Texas is set to host Louisiana Monroe in the 2022 season opener on Saturday.

Steve Sarkisian addressed the media on Monday ahead of the Longhorns’ first game.

Sark praised starting quarterback Quinn Ewers for his composure since being named the starter. He feels good about Ewers’ progression at this point in time.

Last Saturday’s mock game went well according to Sarkisian. It gave the young players an opportunity to get a feel for the gameday routine at the college level.

The kicking battle is expected to continue throughout the week. Issac Pearson appears to be doing well in the punting role but Will Stone and Brett Auburn are competing for the placekicker spot.

Sarkisian feels like the team is in a good spot ahead of the new year. He mentioned the culture is at an “all-time high” since his time as the Texas head coach.

Everything Steve Sarkisian said after Thrusday’s practice

Here is everything Sarkisian discussed on Thursday.

We are a little over a week until Texas takes the field against UL Monroe in the season opener on Sept. 3.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian updated the media about the progression of his team after practice on Thursday.

Sarkisian gave praise to multiple players in his presser. He mentioned quarterback Quinn Ewers, wide receiver Tarique Milton and defensive end Ethan Burke as guys who are developing well at this point in camp. Ewers won the starting job over Hudson Card last week and has taken the starting reps since.

The kicking battle between Will Stone and Brett Auburn will continue leading up to the start of the season. Sarkisian is going to make that decision on who will handle field goal and kickoff duties close to game day.

Texas’ weekend practice will consist of a “mock game” where players will go through the gameday routine as final preparations for the 2022 season.

Everything Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said after the spring game

Steve Sarkisian had a lot of positive things to say after the spring game.

Texas’ spring game came and went, but not without a frenzy of excitement surrounding the offensive fireworks displayed on the field.

After going 5-7 in his first season as the Texas head coach, Steve Sarkisian put a major emphasis on cleaning house of guys not bought into his culture, while also bringing in significant upgrades all over the field. On Saturday, Texas fans got their first sneak peak at some of the new players that will be donning the burnt orange, and they were not disappointed.

The arial attack displayed by Quinn Ewers to Isaiah Neyor has already made its infinite rounds on the internet, and has only helped fuel the debate of who should start between he and Hudson Card.

Both the offense and defense had their moments, and like every coach would, Sarkisian had some thoughts on what could be better after the game.

Here is what Sarkisian said after the Longhorns spring game.

Everything Steve Sarkisian said after Texas’ first spring practice

Sarkisian dropped some interesting nuggets after their first spring practice.

Spring football is back in session, and the Longhorns had their first practice on Tuesday.

This spring will be vital for the program, as there are position battles all over the field on both sides of the ball that are starting now, and it gives Steve Sarkisian a chance to continue to solidify his culture as the Texas head coach.

This past season did not meet the standards that Sarkisian had in mind, nor the lofty expectations that the Longhorn faithful always have. It was filled with mental lapses, blown leads, and from what has been commented on after the fact; a toxic environment created by players no longer with the program.

Even with all the struggles, fans have plenty of reasons to be optimistic heading into 2022. Sarkisian and his staff were able to bring in the No. 5 recruiting class in the country along with bringing in a top 10 transfer class.

There is a growing expectation that these new faces will have an immediate impact, especially players like five-star linemen Kelvin Banks and Devon Campbell who will be joining the team in fall, and transfers Quinn Ewers and Isaiah Neyor.

With the Big 12 as up for grabs as it has been in the past decade or so, Texas may have a chance to bounce back from last year and compete for a conference title.

Sarkisian addressed the media after the first spring practice, and here are some of his more interesting comments.

Steve Sarkisian updates Texas’ QB situation, discusses future plans

Steve Sarkisian had A LOT to say today.

Monday was likely the most interesting Steve Sarkisian interview dating back to when he spoke at Big 12 media day.

The Texas football program has been in a free fall ever since, as they are in the middle of a historic losing streak and have no chance at making a bowl game. The poor performance from the team has many questioning what Sarkisian will do to fix it, or if he is even the right man for the job at this point.

Sarkisian addressed the media on Monday, just a couple days after the sixth consecutive loss by the hands of West Virginia, and ahead of their final game of the season against Kansas State. He provided updates on the quarterback situation and discussed the future of the program.

After coming into the season with expectations to contend for the Big 12 title, the only thing Texas has done successfully is become a meme every single week. Sarkisian still seems very confident that he is the right man for the job, and that the program will look completely different next season.

Let’s take a look at some of his best quotes from Monday’s media availability.

Everything Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said after the heartbreaking Kansas loss

The losing streak extended to five consecutive games, and Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is still remaining positive somehow.

Just when we thought that the losing streak would finally end, the Longhorns lost at home to a 1-8 Kansas team.

The first season under Steve Sarkisian has seen plenty of record-breaking moments, but mostly in a bad way. A team that many thought were a better coaching staff away from making some noise at the national level has shown us that maybe Tom Herman was doing the lord’s work, or he could not have gotten fired at a better time.

Going down the line, there are issues at literally every position for Texas. It seems more and more apparent that the quarterback of the future is not on this roster, as they both had two turnovers in the loss, and neither have been a model of consistency.

The wide receiver group is depleted, and outside of Xavier Worthy, they struggle with every aspect of the position. The offensive line may be one of the worst in all of college football, and the defensive line cannot generate any pressure.

This team went from not being able to close out a game after building a lead, to just not being able to play any sort of decent football. They should not have had to take Kansas to overtime to win, but to make matters worse they lost.

While it is way too premature, many people are putting Steve Sarkisian on the hot seat after Texas’ fifth consecutive loss. The first-year head coach had a lot to say after the shocking loss.

Everything Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said after the blowout loss to Iowa State

Steve Sarkisian tried to remain positive after Texas suffered their fourth consecutive loss.

After a dreadful month of October, Texas was hoping that November would get off to a much better start.

That was not the case by any means, as the Longhorns played their worst game of the season and were absolutely embarrassed by Iowa State in Week 10.

Nothing went right for Texas, as they got off to a bad start with Bijan Robinson fumbling his first carry of the game. To make matters worse, Casey Thompson looked terrible, as he was plagued by inaccuracy to the point that Steve Sarkisian benched him after just six throws. Hudson Card came in and although it seemed the offense was looking a little more competent, he would wind up fizzling out and never scoring again after the first touchdown.

The defense, like they had been in the three games prior, were solid in the first half, but when the offense goes three-and-out every single drive it put a very shaky defense on the field too much.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is beyond the point of soul searching with this team, as they are now at risk of missing a bowl game. It is only year one in his tenure, but he certainly needs to show an ability to make adjustments.

Sarkisian addressed the media after the game and uttered the same somber messages he has been the past three weeks.

Take a look at everything he had to say on the next page.
