What are the ESPN projections for Rutgers basketball following their Big Ten win over Michigan?

ESPN Analytics projects the final three games of the Big Ten season for Rutgers.

Rutgers basketball got back on the winning track on Thursday night, putting together a thorough and complete performance with a Big Ten win against Michigan.

The win, in addition to snapping a three-game losing streak, certainly has postseason implications as well. Rutgers is now 15-13 (7-10 Big Ten) following their impressive 82-52 win over Michigan.

It keeps their slim NCAA Tournament hopes alive.

To get back into the NCAA Tournament, Rutgers is going to have to sweep their remaining three Big Ten regular season games. On top of that, they would likely need at minimum on win in the Big Ten Tournament.

(In all likelihood, they would need their final three Big Ten regular season games and two conference tournament wins to pad their NCAA Tournament resume).

But first things first, Rutgers needs three wins from their final three Big Ten regular season games.

ESPN’s outlook for Rutgers getting those three wins is not encouraging, even after Thursday’s dominating performance against Michigan. ESPN Analytics favors Rutgers in just one of their three remaining games:

Two wins might be enough, however, to get Rutgers basketball into the NIT for a second straight year. Given the rebuild of the roster from a season ago, it certainly would be a big accomplishment for the Scarlet Knights to simply be back in the postseason.

Chiefs are the best team in the NFL, according to ESPN Analytics

ESPN Analytics ranked the #Chiefs as the NFL’s best team after Kansas City’s Week 9 win over the Miami #Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Kansas City Chiefs Week 9 win over the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany cemented their spot as the AFC’s top team in terms of playoff seeding, but the quants at ESPN Analytics don’t seem to think their dominance ends at the conference level.

According to ESPN’s football power index, Kansas City hosts the best team in the NFL, with two AFC rivals taking second and third place through nine games.

This ranking may surprise some fans who watched the Chiefs’ frustrating losses to the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos earlier in the season, but after taking down the fifth-best team on the list, Kansas City certainly deserved a top spot.

The Chiefs will have their chance to beat the seventh-ranked team, the Philadelphia Eagles, after their bye week in a Super Bowl LVII rematch at Arrowhead Stadium.

If Kansas City emerges victorious against Philadelphia in Week 11, expect the Chiefs to remain atop the FPI rankings until another team takes them down later in the season.
