See Emeka Egbuka get Ohio State on the board and social media reactions

Watch Emeka Egbuka give Ohio State the lead on the Buckeye opening drive. #GoBucks

Well, that didn’t take long. Ohio State marched down the field handing Michigan a balanced diet of both the run and pass. On third and goal, C.J. Stroud found Emeka Egbuka on a crossing route in the endzone while Michigan defenders were focused on Marvin Harrison Jr.

Pick your poison I guess.

It was the start the Buckeyes needed with the Wolverines choosing to defer to the second half. Miyan Willams started the game and then Chip Trayanum spelled him to get some big runs as well.

Now time to see how healthy Blake Corum is as the Buckeyes head to defense.

Check out the touchdown catch and then see the social media reactions.

Jack Campbell, Tory Taylor represent Iowa Hawkeyes as CBS midseason All-Americans

The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of just four teams in the country with multiple players on the CBS midseason All-American team.

The Iowa Hawkeyes find themselves with two players on CBS Sports’ midseason All-American team, one of just four programs in the country that can boast that distinction. The other three teams with multiple players named are the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the USC Trojans.

Unsurprisingly, the two Hawkeyes named come from the defensive and special teams unit. On defense, CBS Sports named Jack Campbell to the midseason All-American team at linebacker along with Alabama’s Will Anderson and Arkansas‘ Drew Sanders.

Campbell leads the entire Hawkeyes defense with 62 total tackles through just six games. He also has three tackles for loss to go with it. Campbell is doing everything right to perform at a high level and lead this defense in his final year at Iowa before the inevitable move to the NFL.

The second Hawkeye finding their name on this list is punter Tory Taylor. The Aussie native has punted 41 times and is averaging 46.1 yards per punt with 15 of them traveling 50-plus yards and nearly half pinning opponents inside their own 20-yard line. Taylor also found himself on College Football Network’s midseason All-American team.

One bit of note is that the upcoming opponent for the Hawkeyes, the Ohio State Buckeyes, have locked down the wide receiver position in this bit of recognition. Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. were the two receivers selected. The Buckeyes didn’t stop there as their quarterback C.J. Stroud was also selected.

WATCH: C.J. Stroud hits Emeka Egbuka for long 69-yard touchdown pitch and catch vs. Michigan State

WATCH: C.J. Stroud makes the right read, finds Emeka Egubka wide open and he takes it the rest of the way 69 yards for a TD against Michigan State. #GoBucks #OSUvsMSU

It’s been an interesting game so far for Ohio State in East Lansing as it deals with Michigan State on the road.

The Buckeyes had a quick stop on defense — thanks to an interception by Lathan Ramson on a deep ball — to get the ball for its first possession. Then Marvin Harrison Jr. did his thing and brought down a touchdown in traffic to put OSU up 7-0.

C.J. Stroud then followed that with a pick-six where it appeared he and receiver Emeka Egbuka were not on the same page. But that’s OK because Stroud and Egbuka seemed to have worked things out on the next series.

Stroud dropped back and found Egbuka wide open down the seam in a soft spot of the defense, hit him in stride, and Egbuka went the rest of the way behind the defense and took it to the house 69 yards to give Ohio State a 14-7 lead in the first quarter.

If you didn’t catch the play, we’ve got it for you to relive below.

This is Ohio State’s first road game of the year and it’s still up for grabs. The Buckeyes are favored to win it big, but the interception return for a touchdown by Michigan State could give them a boost to stay in this game. We’ll continue to monitor where things stand and bring you highlights and reactions as things happen.

Watch: social media reacts to Emeka Egbuka touchdown #GoBucks

The Ohio State Buckeyes have started this second half out hot and heavy and after a TreVeyon Henderson touchdown on the first drive, the second offensive drive saw C.J. Stroud strike Emeka Egbuka for a beautiful 49-yard touchdown pass.

Ohio State now holds a 38-9 lead over the Arkansas State Red Wolves with 10:30 left in the third quarter. We discussed in the first half how the offense hadn’t yet exploded, but it appears they have gone full-blown mushroom cloud here in the second half. Emeka Egbuka currently has four receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Buckeye Nation is stoked about Egbuka and here are some reactions from Twitter.

The Ohio State football team is officially on the board in 2022 and it was a big answer. The Buckeyes fell down early 3-0 to Notre Dame, stalled on their first drive but came back in a big way on drive No. 2.

OSU’s offense was aided by some penalties from the Irish, but C.J. Stroud was able to finish the drive off with a 31-yard strike to receiver Emeka Egbuka. In case you missed the first of what should be plenty of touchdowns for the year, check it out below.

The reaction from Buckeye Nation on Twitter was swift as well. Here are some of the best reactions after Egbuka dove into the endzone to give Ohio State a 7-3 lead.

WATCH: Garrett Wilson heaps praise on Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka

You don’t often hear an older guy speak so fondly of younger players. #GoBucks

It’s no secret that the Ohio State wide receiver corps continues to be one of the best in the country. What assistant Brian Hartline has done during his time in Columbus is going to be hard to match when he one day moves on to bigger and better things.

Just this past season, OSU saw two explosive wide receivers go in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, back-to-back in fact. Garrett Wilson was selected No. 10 overall by the New York Jets, followed immediately by Chris Olave at pick No. 11 by the New Orleans Saints.

And while Ohio State will miss two dynamic playmakers like Wilson and Olave, there’s still plenty in the cupboard as evidenced by rewatching the game film of the classic Rose Bowl last January.

Wilson may have moved on to the NFL, but he backs all of that up by heaping accolades on the work ethic of both Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka. He sang their praises while appearing on The Pivot Podcast.

Watch the below video and listen to how both players actually set an example for him in how they go about their business.

The Buckeyes may have lost to of the best receivers to ever wear the scarlet and gray to the NFL, but by the looks and sound of it, the offense should still be in good hands in the passing game with C.J. Stroud throwing to another talented bunch of receivers.

Five Ohio State Buckeyes who could break out on offense next season

Five Ohio State Buckeyes who could break out on offense next season #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team should be ready to rock and roll in 2022. Despite losing Garrett Wilson, Master Teague, and Chris Olave, C.J. Stroud and OSU are returning with more than enough play-makers to distribute and move the ball at more than an efficient rate.

The 2021 season was more or less a disappointment (at least for Buckeye standards), but the 2022 Ohio State team should be primed to make a legitimate national championship run. Now spring football hasn’t even begun, but I — like everyone else — like to make bold predictions and wild speculations. The following are five Ohio State players that I expect to make a bigger impact during the 2022 season.

Some of these selections are going to be insanely obvious, but I would be a fool to leave them off. With that said, some of these players may raise an eyebrow, which I welcome.

WATCH: Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka returns kickoff 67-yards vs. Maryland

Watch yet another 5-star wide receiver get an explosive play on a kickoff return. #GoBucks

Ohio State has it going against Maryland, and it’s more than just the offense. In fact, the Buckeyes just had an explosive kickoff return midway through the second quarter, and it came from former 5-star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.

We haven’t seen OSU take too many kicks and return them with the rule change where you can fair catch it, but Egbuka decided to make something happen with this one. He received the kick at the 5-yard line, then read his blocks and weaved through the Terps special teams for a 67-yard return.

If you didn’t get to see it, watch Egbuka work his magic below to put the Ohio State offense in great field position at the Maryland 29. OSU eventually capped it off with a touchdown.
