Steelers S Damontae Kazee ejected after big hit

The Steelers are minus both of their starting safeties before halftime.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee was ejected from Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with 8:42 left in the second quarter after a crushing hit on Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

This was the second big hit Kazee put on Pittman in the game. Pittman stayed on the field briefly but was able to walk off under his own power. The Steelers are already thin at safety with Keanu Neal on IR and Minkah Fitzpatrick questionable to return with a knee injury.

Kazee has a reputation for big hits and definitely plays in the gray area when it comes to the rules.

Cameron Jordan after ejection vs. Chiefs: ‘Whatever the correction I will be better’

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was the recipient of a weak disqualification call in Week 15’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs.

[jwplayer P4fy8sOW-ThvAeFxT]

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was the recipient of a weak disqualification call in Week 15’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs after getting locked up with an opponent after the whistle, with the officiating crew citing a thrown punch as a reason to throw him out of the contest.

Afterward, Jordan shouldered the blame for his team’s 32-29 loss, in which the Chiefs scored a critical touchdown moments after his departure (helped by the penalty yards he gave up along the way).

Jordan has been elected a team captain for most of his Saints career and remains one of the unit’s most visible leaders, so it’s no surprise to see him own up to his actions and take this responsibility. But as Saints coach Sean Payton himself said after the game, Jordan’s defense showed guts against the NFL’s best offense.

It’s commendable for Jordan to have this reaction, but he and his teammates shouldn’t beat themselves up for the loss. Hopefully, they’ll get another crack at the Chiefs soon with a fully armed and operational offense that can take advantage of its opportunities, maybe in the Super Bowl.

Saints DE Cameron Jordan ejected in Week 15 vs. Chiefs

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was ejected for throwing a punch late in Week 15’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Frustrations boiled over in the New Orleans Saints’ game with the Kansas City Chiefs, and it got Cameron Jordan disqualified. The defensive captain exchanged some blows with the Kansas City right tackle too close to the whistle for the officiating crew’s liking, so they threw a flag and tossed him for throwing a punch. It’s the first time Jordan’s been ejected in his 166-game career.

It’s an ugly scene, and Jordan should know better. But it’s easy to see why he lost his cool: getting held all afternoon is enough to upset anyone. Kansas City went into the game with 20 fouls for offensive holding in their first 13 games, second-most in the NFL, but they weren’t flagged for it once in Sunday’s matchup. They probably just happened to play a cleaner game up front than they have all year. Surely.

Still, Jordan hurt his team, and he has to watch himself more carefully moving forwards. The penalty yards he yielded set the Chiefs up for a walk-in touchdown run. New Orleans can’t afford to create those opportunities for such an accomplished offense. Here’s hoping it doesn’t cost them the game.

Notre Dame’s best player in the secondary and one of the best safeties in all of college football is Kyle Hamilton, who earned pre-season All-American honors by various outlets.

Despite not yet having an interception in 2020 his impact has been huge in Notre Dame entering Friday’s game at North Carolina 8-0.

Hamilton made a few huge plays early to stop North Carolina drives and keep the Tar Heels from putting even more points up early.

However, on a third and 20 late in the second quarter, Hamilton came crashing down to make a stop, but couldn’t slow himself up enough to avoid a targeting call that got him ejected.  Watch it below.

North Carolina would go on to kick a field goal to take a 17-14 lead that possession.

Notre Dame would respond quickly getting downfield and getting a 32-yard field goal from Jonathan Doerer to tie things up at 17 before halftime.

Georgia football players talk George Pickens ejection

Georgia football players talk George Pickens ejection after fight with Tech player,.

On Saturday, Georgia freshman wide receiver George Pickens sat out the first half of the Georgia Tech game for what Kirby Smart described as a ‘team matter.’

When he returned in the second half, he made a splash, catching a 41 yard touchdown pass from Jake Fromm.

But that was the only good thing that came from Pickens playing in the rivalry game on Saturday. He and Georgia Tech defensive back Tre Swilling got into it in the end zone and eventually end up exchanging punches with each other. Swilling hit first, twice, including one to Pickens’ throat.

Following the Tech game, Georgia players discussed the Pickens incident.

“That’s a huge lesson for him to not have him do something dumb like that,” linebacker Monty Rice said. “He’s a vital part of the team, vital part of the offense. You see how productive he is. He’s just gotta be smarter.

Ain’t no way around it. Ain’t no woulda’, coulda’ shoulda’. All you have to do is not throw a punch or slap or whatever it was. You just have to be smart.”

Pickens will be suspended for the first half of Georgia’s SEC Championship Game vs LSU. Additionally, the Bulldogs’ top receiver Lawrence Cager underwent ankle surgery this past week will not play. That is huge news seeing as how Jake Fromm has struggled this season without his top receivers out there. Dominick Blaylock and Tyler Simmons, who commented below, will be the go to guys.

“There’s always going to be some chippy talk and a chippy game like this between two rivals,”  Simmons said. “But you can’t let that get to you.”
