Analyzing Friday’s Edmonton Oilers at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Edmonton Oilers (16-5-0) visit the Seattle Kraken (8-13-2) Friday at Climate Pledge Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Oilers vs. Kraken odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Oilers enter on a three-game win streak. They’ve posted 4.33 goals per game in victories over the Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights and Arizona Coyotes in that span.

The Kraken fought hard in a 4-3 shootout loss at the Detroit Red Wings last time out Wednesday, and they were 2-2 on an East Coast road swing. They have won their last two home games.

Oilers at Kraken projected goalies

Stuart Skinner (2-3-0, 2.44 GAA, .928 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (6-9-2, 3.02 GAA, .890 SV%)

Skinner lost his most recent start Nov. 23 in Dallas as he allowed four goals on 33 shots, but he has won two of his last three outings. He is still searching for his first NHL road victory.

Grubauer was on the short end of the first shootout in Kraken history when they suffered a 4-3 loss at Detroit Wednesday. He hasn’t won’t in two starts since turning aside 35 of 36 shots against Carolina Nov. 24.

Oilers at Kraken odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oilers 5, Kraken 3

Money line

The OILERS (-145) probably would be a little more expensive if Koskinen was in between the pipes. Edmonton has still won seven straight inside the Pacific Division, and 14 of its last 20 road games.

Against the spread

The OILERS -1.5 (+165) are worth a roll of the dice at this price. Edmonton pounded Pittsburgh 5-2 last time out, and three of its last four victories have been by at least two goals. The Kraken are a feisty bunch, but six of their last seven losses have been by two or more goals.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-107) is worth playing, ever so slightly. The Over is 6-1 in the last seven games in Seattle, and 11-3 in the past 14 overall for the Kraken. They have generally been scoring plenty but allowing even more.

The Oilers have cashed the Over in four of the past five as a favorite, too.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Edmonton Oilers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Pittsburgh Penguins at Edmonton Oilers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (10-7-5) visit the Edmonton Oilers (15-5-0) Wednesday at Rogers Place. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Penguins vs. Oilers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Penguins suffered a 2-1 loss in a shootout to the Flames in Calgary Monday in the front end of their Alberta trip. Pittsburgh has now dropped two games in a row after a five-game win streak.

The Oilers have won consecutive road games against the Vegas Golden Knights and Arizona Coyotes. They’re also working on a five-game win streak at home dating back to Oct. 27 when they suffered a 5-3 setback against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Penguins at Oilers odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:22 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Penguins +102 (bet $100 to win $102) | Oilers -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Penguins +1.5 (-270) | Oilers -1.5 (+190)

Penguins at Oilers projected goalies

Tristan Jarry (10-4-4, 1.85 GAA, .938 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Mikko Koskinen (11-2-0, 2.89 GAA, .912 SV%)

Jarry allowed just one goal on 32 shots in the 2-1 shootout loss in Calgary, snapping a five-start win streak that included three shutouts. He has allowed two or fewer goals in seven straight appearances.

Koskinen as won two in a row and wrapped up November with a 7-1-0 record, 3.25 GAA and .898 SV% in eight appearances. He has won four of his five home starts.

Penguins at Oilers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Penguins 4, Oilers 3

Money line

The PENGUINS (+102) have registered victories in 19 of their last 25 meetings with the Oilers, including in each of their last six trips to Edmonton. The road team is 4-1 in the past five meetings, too. Jarry has been one of the best goaltenders in the game and the Penguins are a great play as short ‘dogs with him in the crease.

Against the spread

The Penguins +1.5 (-250) are too costly at two and a half times your potential return if you would like a little insurance.

AVOID, and trust the Pens straight up.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (-107) is the lean, ever so slightly. It’s been all Under all the time for Pittsburgh with Jarry in net, but he hasn’t faced the likes of C Connor McDavid, C Leon Draisaitl and company. They’ll get theirs, even if they’re the only ones. While Koskinen has been winning, he has given up more than three goals in five of his last six appearances.

Edmonton Oilers at Boston Bruins odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Edmonton Oilers at Boston Bruins odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Edmonton Oilers (9-2-0) travel to meet the Boston Bruins (6-4-0) Thursday at TD Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Oilers vs. Bruins odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Oilers were doubled up 4-2 by the Red Wings on the road Tuesday, snapping a four-game win streak. Edmonton had backup goalie Stuart Skinner in between the pipes, not regular starter Mikko Koskinen.

The Bruins picked up a 3-2 win over the Senators last time out Tuesday, although Boston is just 3-3-0 across the past six games overall. The Under is 4-2 during the six-game span.

Oilers at Bruins odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Oilers +125 (bet $100 to win $125) | Bruins -155 (bet $155 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Oilers +1.5 (-210) | Bruins -1.5 (+160)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: +110 | U: -135)

Watch: ESPN+ has become a must-have for hockey fans. Get access to more than 1,000 out-of-market NHL games, 75 weekly national games, and more all season. Sign up for ESPN+ now!

Oilers at Bruins projected goalies

Mikko Koskinen (7-1-0, 2.54 GAA, .920 SV%) vs. Linus Ullmark (3-2-0, 2.59 GAA, .918 SV%)

Koskinen has won four consecutive starts since his only loss Oct. 27 against the Philadelphia Flyers. He has allowed 10 goals on 117 shots, allowing two or fewer goals in three of the four outings during his win streak.

Ullmark coughed up four goals on 35 shots in a 5-2 loss in Toronto on Saturday. He is 2-0-0 with a 2.40 GAA and .918 SV% in two starts at home this season.

Oilers at Bruins odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oilers 4, Bruins 3

Money line

The OILERS (+125) are a value play on the road. Yes, they were doubled up last time out against the Red Wings, but that was with an unproven goaltender. Koskinen will be back in the crease, and he has been outstanding so far this season.

Edmonton played in the All-Canada Division last season due to COVID and the border restrictions. They’re glad to travel to Boston, as it has won four of the past five trips to Beantown and eight of the previous 11 meetings overall with the B’s.

Against the spread

The OILERS +1.5 (-210) aren’t a terrible play as this number isn’t terribly out of line if you want a little bit of insurance and don’t trust the road team straight up.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (+110) is the lean here at plus-money. The Over has connected in five of the past seven as it’s rare that an offense with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, etc. does not produce.

The Over is 5-1 in Boston’s past six against Western Conference teams and 4-0 in the past four meetings against Pacific Division foes.

Nashville Predators at Edmonton Oilers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Nashville Predators at Edmonton Oilers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Nashville Predators (5-4-0) face the Edmonton Oilers (7-1-0) Wednesday at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Predators vs. Oilers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Predators have won four games in a row, including a 3-2 overtime victory in Calgary Tuesday in the first stop of its six-game road trip. Nashville has outscored the opposition 14-7 during the four-game win streak.

The Oilers pounded the expansion Seattle Kraken by a 5-2 count last time out Monday. That outcome was a lot better than their previous game at home against the Philadelphia Flyers as they were dropped 5-3 Oct. 27 for their only loss.

Predators at Oilers odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:52 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Predators +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | Oilers -205 (bet $205 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Predators +1.5 (-155) | Oilers -1.5 (+122)

Predators at Oilers projected goalies

Connor Ingram (1-0-0, 2.02 GAA, .943 SV%) vs. Mikko Koskinen (5-1-0, 2.21 GAA, .933 SV%)

Ingram won his NHL debut in Minnesota Oct. 24, turning aside 33 of 35 shots. Starter Juuse Saros should get a much-needed rest against the high-octane Oilers after he was the backstop Tuesday against the Flames.

Koskinen has allowed 2 or fewer goals in four of his six starts this season, including last time out against Seattle when he allowed just 2 goals on 29 shots.

Predators at Oilers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oilers 5, Predators 2

Money line

The OILERS (-205) are a little above my normal personal money line limit, but it isn’t a terribly risky play behind Koskinen at home. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and company should give the young Predators backstop nightmares.

Against the spread

The OILERS -1.5 (+135) cashed the puck line last time out against Seattle, and three of Edmonton’s last four victories have been by 2 or more goals. Edmonton is a good bet, as it’s 4-1 in the past five meetings with Nashville overall, with the favorite going 13-5, and it’s cashed the puck line in three of those victories.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-112) is the lean, ever so slightly. The Over has cashed in five of the last seven on the road for Nashville dating back to last season. It’s been “all Over, all the time” for Edmonton, going 4-0 in its last four at home, and 5-1 in its last six following a victory.

Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers Game 2 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers Game 2 NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Winnipeg Jets go for a second straight road upset of the Edmonton Oilers to begin their North Division Semifinal series Friday. Puck drop at Rogers Place is set for shortly after 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Jets-Oilers Game 2 odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The third-seeded Jets stole Game 1 4-1 despite LW Pierre-Luc Dubois (undisclosed) and LW Nikolaj Ehlers (shoulder) being ruled out Wednesday afternoon. Dubois is questionable for Game 2 but Ehlers isn’t expected back until later in the postseason.

Two of Winnipeg’s goals in Game 1 were scored on the empty net. Jets G Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 of 33 shots in the victory.

Jets at Oilers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 1:47 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Jets +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Oilers -160 (bet $160 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Jets +1.5 (-200) | Oilers -1.5 (+165)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Jets at Oilers: Projected starting goalies

Connor Hellebuyck (24-17-3, .916 SV%, 2.58 GAA) at Mike Smith (21-6-2, .923 SV%, 2.31 GAA)

Hellebuyck, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner, led the NHL in games played, shots against and saves. The heavy workload didn’t hamper him in Game 1, as he stopped 32 of 33 shots.

He was just 2-5-0 with a .877 save percentage and 3.96 goals against average in seven regular-season games against the Oilers, though.

Smith was just OK in Game 1 with 18 saves on 20 shots. He was 4-0-0 with a .936 SV% and 2.06 GAA against the Jets in the regular season.

He struggled slightly on home ice, however, with a .908 SV% and 2.64 GAA over 16 games at Rogers Place.

Jets at Oilers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Oilers 4, Jets 2

Money line (ML)

Back the OILERS (-160) at a better number than we had for Game 1. The Jets’ two empty-net goals are skewing the odds a little too heavily to the lower-seeded visitors.

Oilers Cs Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were both held point-less in Game 1. That shouldn’t happen again Friday, as they had little trouble with Hellebuyck in the regular season.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Get better value with the higher-seeded team by backing the OILERS -1.5 (+165) to win by at least 2 goals. They beat the Jets by 2 or more tallies in each of the final four head-to-head meetings of the regular season.

Over/Under (O/U)

Lean to the OVER 5.5 (-115) while banking on a better performance from the Oilers’ two biggest stars.

Hellebuyck obviously has a high pedigree, but he struggled against the Oilers in the regular season.

Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers Game 1 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL playoffs picks, tips and predictions.

The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers play Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs first-round series Wednesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET at Rogers Place. Below, we analyze the Jets-Oilers odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Jets dropped each of their past six meetings with the Oilers. They were outscored 12-2 in the final three outings, all in April. G Mike Smith recorded the win in two of those three games.

The key for the Oilers (surprise!) was C Connor McDavid. His most recent hat trick was April 26 in Winnipeg. He posted 7 goals and 22 points with a plus-14 rating in nine regular-season meetings while posting 2 or more points in each outing.

Jets at Oilers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Jets +125 (bet $100 to win $125) | Oilers -155 (bet $155 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Jets +1.5 (-190) | Oilers -1.5 (+155)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Jets at Oilers: Projected starting goalies

Connor Hellebuyck (24-17-3, 2.58 GAA, .916 SV%, 4 SO) vs. Mike Smith (21-6-2, 2.31 GAA, .923 SV%, 3 SO)

Hellebuyck was actually better on the road than he was at home in the regular season. He went 13-7-1 with a 2.44 GAA and .925 SV% with three shutouts in 21 games as a visitor. He struggled against the Oilers, however, and was 2-5-0 with a 3.96 GAA and .877 SV% in seven games. It was easily his worst GAA and SV% against any opponent.

Smith won four of his final five regular-season starts. He also allowed just 1 goal on 37 shots in his most recent showing against Jets April 26, winning a 6-1 game in Winnipeg. He has four straight victories against Winnipeg.

Oilers at Jets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Oilers 5, Jets 3

Money line (ML)

The OILERS (-155) are moderate favorites to get this playoff series off on the right foot. I expect to see plenty of offense, with perhaps some nervous times for Edmonton backers. Eventually, their offense takes over for the win.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The OILERS -1.5 (+155) are a nice value at this price on home ice, although it might actually take an empty-net goal late to flip this result in your favor. As a result, I’d go lightly on this wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (+100) is a good play at even money, as McDavid, C Leon Draisaitl and company should be able to produce plenty of offense in Game 1. The Over cashed in four of the final five games of the regular season for the Oil.

Vancouver Canucks at Edmonton Oilers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Vancouver Canucks at Edmonton Oilers odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vancouver Canucks (21-28-3) visit the Edmonton Oilers (35-18-2) Saturday as Edmonton wraps up its regular-season schedule. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET at Rogers Place. Below, we analyze the Canucks-Oilers odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Canucks won just once in their last four outings and twice in their past 11 contests. They’re also averaging just 1.75 goals per game across their previous four contests, while hitting the Under in three straight.

The Oilers have won three straight games, including a pair of overtime wins on the road against the Montreal Canadiens. Each of the games was decided by a 4-3 score.

Canucks at Oilers: Odds, spread and lines

  • Against the spread/ATS: Canucks +1.5 (-135) | Oilers -1.5 (+115)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Canucks at Oilers: Projected starting goalies

Thatcher Demko (14-18-1, 2.93 GAA, .912 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Mikko Koskinen (13-12-0, 3.14 GAA, .899 SV%)

Demko won just twice across his past 10 starts dating back to March 22, and he allowed 4 or more goals in five of his past seven games. He is also 2-5-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .907 SV% in seven starts against the Oilers this season.

Koskinen won four of his past five ganes, including a 25-save effort in a 4-3 overtime win at Montreal Monday. He is 2-3-0 with a 3.86 GAA and .877 SV% in five games against the Canucks this season.

Canucks at Oilers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Oilers 5, Canucks 2

Money line (ML)

The OILERS (-190) are a borderline play for me, as I generally don’t like to go above my personal money line limit of -180.

Edmonton is worth a roll of the dice in its regular-season finale.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The OILERS -1.5 (+115) are a better play on the puck line at plus-money, as they have won six of the past seven outings. While each of the past three was a 4-3 victory, which obviously did not cover the puck line, nine of their past 12 wins were by 2 or more goals.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (-110) is the lean here. The Over connected in four in a row for the Oilers, including each of the past two against the Canucks. The Over also cashed in five straight meetings between these two teams at Rogers Place.

Edmonton Oilers at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Edmonton Oilers at Toronto Maple Leafs NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Edmonton Oilers (21-13-1) wrap up a two-game set against the Toronto Maple Leafs (22-10-2) Monday with a 7 p.m. ET puck drop at Scotiabank Arena. Below, we analyze the Oilers-Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Odds, spread and lines

  • Against the spread/ATS: Oilers +1.5 (-190) | Maple Leafs -1.5 (+155)
  • Over/Under: 6.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Projected starting goalies

Mike Smith (11-3-1, 2.44 GAA, .918 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Jack Campbell (6-0-0, 1.48 GAA, .945 SV%, 2 SO)

Smith did a good job on Saturday in a seesaw affair, but ultimately he and the Oilers fell 4-3 in overtime. He made 27 saves on 31 shots and is now 0-2-1 with a 3.80 GAA and .867 SV% across his three starts and four appearances against the Leafs this season.

Campbell allowed three goals on 20 shots in the overtime win Saturday, and the total goals allowed were actually a season high. It still didn’t prevent him from running his record to 6-0-0. He has been a godsend for the Leafs, especially since Frederik Andersen has been in and out of the lineup due to a lower-body ailment. Campbell is 2-0-0 with a 1.49 GAA and .940 SV% with a shutout against the Oil this season.

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Maple Leafs 4, Oilers 2

Money line (ML)

The MAPLE LEAFS (-155) have had their way against the Oilers (+130) this season, and it has gone from a coincidence to a trend. Toronto is 6-0-1 across the past seven meetings after losing 3-1 in regulation in the very first meeting Jan. 20. Edmonton will be very pleased that this is the last regular-season meeting between the two sides.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAPLE LEAFS -1.5 (+165) are worth a light bet on the puck line. They have won by two or more goals in four of the six victories over the Oilers this season. And six of the previous 10 victories overall have been by two or more goals.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6.5 (-105) bettors were feeling the sting after the Leafs scored a game-tying goal with 3:22 in regulation Saturday to force overtime, eventually winning 4-3. It was a tough pill to swallow. Still, don’t let that dissuade you from hitting the Under here, as a line of 6.5 is just a little too high for teams who know each other so well.

Edmonton Oilers at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Edmonton Oilers at Toronto Maple Leafs NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Edmonton Oilers (21-13-0) kick off a two-game set against the Toronto Maple Leafs (21-10-2) Saturday with a 7 p.m. ET puck drop at Scotiabank Arena. Below, we analyze the Oilers-Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:35 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Oilers +130 (bet $100 to win $130) | Maple Leafs -155 (bet $155 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Oilers +1.5 (-200) | Maple Leafs -1.5 (+165)
  • Over/Under: 6.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Projected starting goalies

Mike Smith (11-3-0, 2.34 GAA, .922 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Jack Campbell (5-0-0, 1.18 GAA, .958 SV%, 2 SO)

Smith has won back-to-back starts, last polishing off the Jets on Saturday by a 4-2 count while making 29 saves. Things weren’t so glorious against the Leafs in the last meeting, as he was on the ugly end of a 6-1 score, making just 26 saves on 32 shots. While he has had a magical run this season, he is 0-2-0 with a 3.75 GAA and .865 SV% in two starts and three appearances against Toronto.

With Frederik Andersen expected to miss approximately one more week due to a lower-body issue, Campbell is expected to get the nod. He has been a godsend for the Buds this season, winning all five of his starts, including a 30-save shutout in Edmonton on Feb. 27. He has allowed a total of six goals in his five starts across 304:30 this season.

Oilers at Maple Leafs: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Maple Leafs 3, Oilers 2

Money line (ML)

The MAPLE LEAFS (-155) are moderate favorites over the Oilers (+130), and the latter hasn’t had a lot of luck against their Canadian rivals.

Toronto won a three-game series from Feb. 27-March 3 in Edmonton by a combined score of 13-1, including the shutout by Campbell.

Against the spread (ATS)

Despite the dominance of the Maple Leafs -1.5 (+165) in this series, they’re a risky play. Two of the past five meetings have been one-goal games. Edmonton also enters this one on a 12-2 run in its past 14 games when playing on no rest.

PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6.5 (-110) is a great play here, as the total is just too high. Yes, the Over is the dominant trend for the Leafs lately, cashing in five of the past seven games overall.

However, the Under is 4-1-1 in the past six for the Oilers against winning teams, and they managed just one total goal in their past three meetings with Toronto.

Edmonton Oilers at Montreal Canadiens odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Edmonton Oilers at Montreal Canadiens NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Edmonton Oilers (21-13-0) open up a two-game set on the road against the Montreal Canadiens (14-8-9) Monday with a 7 p.m. ET puck drop at Bell Centre. Below, we analyze the Oilers-Canadiens odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Oilers at Canadiens: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Oilers +105 (bet $100 to win $105) | Canadiens -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Oilers +1.5 (-275) | Canadiens -1.5 (+220)
  • Over/Under: 6.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Oilers at Canadiens: Projected starting goalies

Mike Smith (11-3-0, 2.34 GAA, .922 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Carey Price (10-5-5, 2.71 GAA, .903 SV%)

Smith enters on a two-game win streak after topping the Winnipeg Jets Saturday in Edmonton. He allowed 2 goals on 31 shots in that outing. The last time he faced the Canadiens (Feb. 11) at Bell Centre, he turned aside all 38 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season.

Price has been a little shaky across his past two starts, coughing up 4 goals in each outing. He won 5-4 in a shootout Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks, but he saved just 14 of the 18 shots he faced. In his only start against the Oilers Jan. 16 in Edmonton, he picked up the win by stopping 34 of the 35 shots he faced.

Oilers at Canadiens: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Oilers 4, Canadiens 3

Money line (ML)

The OILERS (+105) are a value play on the road, as I just don’t like the way Price is playing lately. Toss in the fact Smith blanked the Habs in his only previous meeting this season, and Edmonton certainly has the makings of a live underdog on the road.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Oilers +1.5 (-275) are just too expensive on the puck line, as they will cost you nearly three times your potential return.

Edmonton is a money line value play at plus-money on the road, so there is no reason for insurance.

PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6.5 (-105) is worth playing lightly in this battle in Montreal.

Price has allowed 4 goals in each of his past two outings, and he has looked very shaky in each contest. As for the Oilers, they are on a 6-1-1 Over run in their past eight games as underdogs, while going 4-1 against the number in their past five against losing teams.

The Over is also 11-5-1 in the past 17 head-to-head meetings in Montreal.
