The professional football league results from a merger between XFL and the United States Football League. This version of the UFL is not connected to the United Football League, which played from 2009 to 2012.

The modern UFL will feature eight teams with two divisions, the XFL Division and the USFL Division. Nebraska will be represented on five of the league’s eight rosters.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would love to see Chiefs TE Travis Kelce in the XFL

Dwayne ā€œThe Rockā€ Johnson says that he would love to see #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce in the XFL, but he can’t afford him. | from @EdEastonJr

The offseason Super Bowl LVII victory tour for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has already been legendary, with plenty of time left. Between his weekly hit podcast with brother Jason, brand partnership with baseball star Aaron Judge, and hosting Saturday Night Live to name a few of the All-Proā€™s recent accomplishments, Kelce has caught the attention of another star.

Kelce was recently spotted visiting long-time NFL coordinator and head coach Wade Phillips at practice for Phillipsā€™ XFL team. Phillips, the head coach of the Houston Roughnecks, tweeted out a photo of him with Kelce, followed by a fun recruitment caption.

ā€œTrying to recruit a TE for the Roughnecks,ā€ tweeted Phillips. ā€œTravis was kind enough to take this picture. Thank you to very best TE in all of football!ā€

The friendly post on social media didn’t go unnoticed as one of the most prominent actors in Hollywood, Dwayne ā€œThe Rockā€ Johnson. Johnson is the co-owner of the XFL and a former football player in his own right. He quote tweeted Phillipsā€™ message with one of his own.

ā€œUncle Wade and my guy @tkelce, Iā€™d love to see Trav in the XFL,ā€ tweeted Johnson. ā€œHeā€™d tell me to ā€œKnow your role jabroniā€ cos I canā€™t afford him Love seeing these two together.ā€

Kelce has already shown interest in the entertainment world with his current and past ventures. As his star rises in that realm, it is safe to say his memorable celebratory speech based on Johnsonā€™s catchphrase after the Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Title game has garnered more attention.

Ranking all 41 WrestleMania main events, from worst to best

38 WrestleManias. 41 main events. Here’s how they rank, from Yokozuna and Sycho Sid to stone cold classics.

The biggest event in professional wrestling — sorry, sports entertainment — is nearly upon us. It’s WrestleMania week.

The landmark marvel of storytelling, violence and athleticism is the standard bearer of the squared circle. Everyone knows about WrestleMania, even if they don’t care about pro wrestling. And as such, the pressure is on the WWE each spring to create a memorable event that can sustain the brand’s success for the year to come.

Sometimes this works out better than others. This showcase has been the backdrop of several indelible moments woven into the fabric of wrestling. It has also served to prop up uncompelling storylines and stars who shined in longtime company head Vince McMahon’s eyes but not in the hearts of fans in the stands.

Let’s talk about those headliners and whether or not they lived up to the pressure of closing out WrestleMania. There have been 41 headlining matches across 38 WrestleManias to date — including the six from the last three years, where the WWE wisely opted to spread the card over two nights. This is my crude attempt to rank all 41 from worst to best, hopefully overcoming my own recency bias in the process.

Additionally, please excuse the somewhat bizarre choice of section images. It turns out USA Today Sports doesn’t have an extensive archive of pre-2020s wrestling photos.

In honor of 3:16 Day, hereā€™s 12 videos of Stone Cold Steve Austin being awesome

And that’s the bottom line because Stone Cold said so!

It’s March 16, and if you follow the WWE, you know what that means.

It’s 3:16 Day, also known as “Austin 3:16 Day,” in tribute to WWE all-time legend Stone Cold Steve Austin.

One of the great icons in the ring, Austin’s impact as a rebellious and tough antihero is still felt to this day. Even if he’s not a regular anymore, Austin’s brash personality might have been what helped bring the WWE to real prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

And why is that? Well, that’s just the bottom line … because Stone Cold said so! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

In honor of 3:16 day, here’s a look back at some of the most iconic moments from Austin’s WWE career. (Warning: NSFW language in some clips.)

We’ve got you covered on everything you need to know about the XFL, which kicks off on Saturday.

The XFL makes its anticipated return on Saturday, with commissioner Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s football leagueĀ returning from a three-year hiatus.

With the NFL all wrapped up for the 2022-23 season, the XFL will give football fans a chance to enjoy the sport as the pros switch over offseason combines, free agent signings and draft prep.

Do you need help on knowing who the teams are? Are there players yous might recognize from the NFL? What does this all amount to in the end?

The XFL has always had a rocky history since the days it was founded by Vince McMahon in 2001. However, Johnson and company will hope this iteration of the semi-pro league will stick around and put down roots with football fans.

Let’s take a look at the things you need to know ahead of Saturday’s kickoffs.

10 athletes who turned out to be great actors, from The Rock to LeBron James

Who made the list?

With Tom Brady making his biggest leap to the big screen with 80 for Brady, the history of athletes who turn to acting is getting another evaluation.

While some athletes don’t exactly make the leap to movies and television with much success, there have been some who have transcended their sport to really make a name for themselves in the acting world.

Some athletes have turned in amazing performances in classic films and T.V. shows, while others have really impressed by just playing a heightened version of themselves.

While a phenomenal actor like Kurt Russell played baseball for some time, we include actors below who got their start on a sports field before making jump to acting. Russell was a child star for Disney before making his debut on the baseball diamond.

Let’s break down 10 of the most successful athletes who have flipped over their talents into acting. (Sorry, Patriots faithful, TB12 didn’t make the cut.)

Adele shared an absolutely adorable moment with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson at the 2023 Grammys

Awwwwww.

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, music superstar Adele and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared what will surely be one of the most adorable interactions of the evening.

As comedian Trevor Noah delivered his opening monologue, he walked over to the table where Adele was seated. A longtime Grammy favorite, she was in attendance for her smash-hit album 30 being nominated for numerous awards.

Noah surprised Adele with a dream encounter with The Rock, who Noah said that Adele has always wanted to meet. Adele looked absolutely thrilled to get to meet The Rock, and the feelings looked mutual for Johnson.

Seriously, this is really sweet!

Well, if that doesn’t get you in your feels, we don’t know what will.

Adele has had plenty of great Grammy moments over the years, but meeting The Rock out of nowhere will surely be near the top of her list.

Only at a massive awards show like The Grammy Awards can a chance encounter like this happen.
