All incoming Alabama football freshman and transfer players numbers announced

Alabama football unveils new numbers for incoming players

The 2024 college football season is going to simply be pandemonium. From the 12-team playoffs to conference realignment to the rapidly changing NIL landscape, the sport is the Wild West right now.

For Alabama fans, that’s not even the main concern yet as we are still adapting to life post-[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag]. It must be said that new head coach [autotag]Kalen DeBoer[/autotag] has done an outstanding job since taking over less than two months ago, but still the shock of not seeing Saban on the sideline for the first time since the 2006 season will take some getting used to.

When you lose a legend of the game, there is naturally going to be some turnover and a bit of a drop-off, but DeBoer has certainly minimized that. This new Alabama coaching staff is shaping up to be one of the better ones in recent years, the roster stayed pretty well intact and DeBoer absolutely lit it up on the recruiting trail. Now, we are getting to see some of his work come to fruition as Alabama football announced the jersey numbers of the incoming players.

Of note, Washington QB transfer [autotag]Austin Mack[/autotag] will wear No. 10, [autotag]Domani Jackson[/autotag] No. 1, [autotag]Jaylen Mbakwe[/autotag] No. 9 and [autotag]Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.[/autotag] No. 21. It is also expected that incoming phenom wide receiver [autotag]Ryan Williams[/autotag] will be wearing No. 2 for the Crimson Tide.

5 Alabama football early signees who are being undervalued

These five signees are being undervalued by most

Wednesday’s early signing day brought a lot of drama for fans around the country, but for the most part, it was business as usual for [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Most of Alabama’s signees were already committed to the Tide before signing day, but the flips of running back Kevin Riley and athlete Aeryn Hampton were pleasant surprises for Alabama fans.

As the dust settles from Wednesday’s excitement, we now have a clear look at the freshman class for the Crimson Tide. While quarterback Julian Sayin and athlete Jaylen Mbakwe will steal most of the attention, there are a handful of signees who are being undervalued by most.

Here are a few that stand out:

How did Alabama commits perform in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game?

Six Alabama commits participated in this year’s Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Roll Tide Wire takes a look at how each of them perfomed on Saturday afternoon.

The Alabama football program was well-represented in the 2023 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Six Alabama commits participated in the contest in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Southern Miss’ campus.

Cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman, linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, offensive lineman William Sanders, and wide receiver Ryan Williams competed for Team Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

It was an impressive showing for the Alabama commits and their teammates. Team Alabama knocked off Team Mississippi by a final score of 26-17.

7 Alabama commits to participate in Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Seven Alabama commits will participate in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Game on Dec. 16

The Alabama football program is annually represented at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. This year will be no different. Seven Alabama commits will suit up for Team Alabama in this year’s classic.

The seven Alabama commits that made the roster are Saraland wide receiver Ryan Williams, Clay-Chalkville cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, Brookwood offensive lineman William Sanders, Gadsden City safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Central-Phenix City defensive lineman Isaia Faga, Ramsay linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, and A.H. Parker defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.

Several other Alabama targets that will be a part of the game are Tuscaloosa County running back Kevin Riley, Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson, Meridian (MS) running back Daniel Hill, and Houston (MS) defensive lineman William Echoles.

Saraland’s Ryan Williams (1) scores a touchdown against Clay-Chalkville during the AHSAA Class 6A football state championship game at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday December 8, 2023.

This all-star game typically features some of the top talent in the south. Specifically, the Magnolia and Yellowhammer states. It always seems to be an interesting game between the two states. This year should be no exception.

I think it is safe to say that the Crimson Tide will be well-represented on both sides of the ball Saturday, Dec. 16th. The game will be played at Southern Mississippi’s M.M. Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET

RECRUITING SPOTLIGHT: 2024 Safety, Alabama commit Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.

This week, the Recruiting Spotlight is put on highlight 2024 wide receiver and Alabama commit Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.

Alabama saw its first legacy commitment in the Nick Saban era come in early August. Class of 2024 safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. announced his commitment to Alabama over Missouri and Auburn. He is the son of former Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick.

Kirkpatrick Jr. is a similar style player to his father. However, he has been viewed as a more versatile athlete. This means the Alabama coaching staff believes that Kirkpatrick Jr. could play multiple positions in college such as safety, cornerback, and STAR.

Alabama will likely lose several players in those positions such as Malachi Moore, Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Jaylen Key. With that said, Kirkpatrick Jr. could have an opportunity to come in and have an immediate impact in the secondary. He has the skillset and attributes to contribute early on in his college career.

Kirkpatrick Jr. and his teammates at Gadsden City High School are off to a 3-1 start to begin the season. Kikrpatrick Jr. has played a key role at safety and on special teams. Through the first three games of the season, Kirkpatrick Jr. recorded 15 tackles and one interception.

As a kick returner, Kirkpatrick Jr. has five returns for 164 yards and one touchdown.

It will be intriguing to see how Kirkpatrick Jr. continues to perform during his senior season. The Alabama coaching staff is high on him and is excited to have him on board as a part of the 2024 class.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football recruiting news.

Alabama lands commitment from Tide legacy, 2024 safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.

2024 safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. committed to Alabama on Friday evening. Kirkpatrick Jr. chose the Crimson Tide over Missouri, Auburn, and Arkansas.

Class of 2024 safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. committed to Alabama on Friday evening. He chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Arkansas, and Missouri.

Kirkpatrick Jr.’s father, Dre Kirkpatrick, played for Saban at Alabama from 2009-2011. Now, his son will follow in his dad’s footsteps at Alabama.

Kirkpatrick Jr. received an offer from Alabama following an impressive showing at a July camp. The Alabama coaching staff had been keeping an eye on Kirkpatrick Jr. but were not pursuing him prior to him receiving an offer.

The Gadsden City High School standout has been recruited to play safety at Alabama. However, there is the possibility that he plays STAR. The STAR position is best suited for a player that is versatile enough to play cornerback and safety. Kirkpatrick Jr. fits the profile at six feet tall and 192 pounds.

Kirkpatrick Jr. is the sixth defensive back to commit to Alabama as a part of the 2024 recruiting class. He joins fellow commits Jaylen Mbakwe, Jameer Grimsley, Zabien Brown, Rydarrius “Red” Morgan, and Peyton Woodyard. Overall, the Crimson Tide have 18 commitments for the ’24 recruiting class.

Kirkpatrick Jr. has followed in his dad’s footsteps as far as becoming a highly-coveted prospect. He recently received an offer from Alabama. However, he is different from his father in several ways.

Despite being listed as a cornerback by several recruiting sites, Kirkpatrick Jr. is being recruited to play safety at Alabama. He is 6 feet tall and 192 pounds, according to 247Sports. Kirkpatrick Jr. is a senior at Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Alabama.

Thus far, Alabama does not have a safety in the 2024 recruiting class. Kirkpatrick Jr. is a prospect to keep an eye on. Alabama would like to sign at least one safety in the class and Kirkpatrick Jr. makes perfect sense for the Crimson Tide.
