Donna Kelce talked Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and Taylor’s family: ‘Feels like home’

Mama Kelce took to the purple carpet at the Grotesquerie premiere.

The new FX series Grotesquerie debuts on Wednesday, September 25, bringing an eerie 10-episode series to the screen.

From creator Ryan Murphy (Glee, 9-1-1, American Horror Story), Grotesquerie stars Niecy Nash (Reno 9-1-1!, The Rookie: Feds) as a detective investigating a series of gruesome murders that disturb a small-town.

NFL star Travis Kelce has a role in the series, playing a so-far unnamed character. It’s the first major acting role for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who also has a role in the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel.

Since Kelce had team responsibilities that kept him from attending the show’s premiere, his mother Donna took to the purple carpet in his stead. Mama Kelce did some interviews, including one with E! where she had high praise for Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and her family.

Swift and Kelce have been dating for over a year, and the 14-time Grammy winner has spent more and more time with her beau’s family as they’ve supported each other at games and on her Eras Tour.

At the Bengals-Chiefs game in Week 2 this season, Donna went viral for a sweet moment shared between her and Swift’s mother, Andrea. Kelce said the two families get along well, and the proximity between the Kelce’s home of Ohio and the Swift’s home of Pennsylvania gives them an extra level of connection.

Did a Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift themed hat worn by Donna Kelce subtly reference the couple? A TikTok video says yes

Mama Kelce continues to have the most thoughtful custom gear for games.

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are off to a great start on the 2024 season, picking up three straight wins as they look to three-peat as Super Bowl champions. For the Chiefs’ season-opener against the Baltimore Ravens, Kelce’s mother, donned a perfect accessory.

Donna — who has often sported custom gear to support both Travis and his brother, Jason, throughout their NFL careers — paid homage to her youngest and his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift with an embroidered cap. The hat featured the Chiefs logo, but with some extra pizazz from creator Alexa Pearlmutter.

Pearlmutter hand embroidered the birth flowers of Travis and Taylor — October and December — and added his jersey number. The result was an adorable accessory that perfectly incorporated both.

The artist shared her work on TikTok under her username @lexidoodlz.

All the emotions these past two days. ❤️🙌🏼🫶🥹 So honored to have made this! My general idea was to incorporate matching florals to pair with the red/white asymmetical logo and work @Travis Kelces #87 into the design. @Chiefs #fyp #chiefskingdom #donnakelce #mamakelce #gochiefs

The #Chiefs tight end was visibly emotional at Jason Kelce’s retirement press conference on Monday.

The offseason is rolling along as free agency looks next week, with many players expected to change teams. The period is also when some players announce their intentions for the new season or retire from the league.

“I announce that I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles,” said Jason, trying to hold back more tears. “Thank you, Philadelphia, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for letting me represent this city and allowing me into your homes every Sunday.”

Travis had defended the initial belief that Jason would be retiring since the Eagles lost in the wild-card round of the postseason. The duo appeared in recent episodes of the New Heights podcast while Jason continued to mull his decision.
