On Monday, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and his recruiting staff landed another commitment in the 2025 recruiting class when the Tigers picked up a three-star defensive tackle from Arlington, Texas.

[autotag]Dilan Battle[/autotag] is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound, three-star defensive tackle from Arlington, where he plays for Mansfield Timberview High School. The Tigers were not projected to land him. SMU was a 24% favorite to land him per On3’s recruiting prediction machine.

Battle becomes the third defensive lineman to commit to the Tigers in the 2025 class, joining fellow three-stars [autotag]Brandon Brown[/autotag] and [autotag]Zion Williams[/autotag]. The Tigers 2025 class is ranked No. 3 in the country according to 247Sports.

The class is headlined by five-stars [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag], [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] and [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag]. Brian Kelly has signed a top-10 class every year since he arrived in Baton Rouge. This class looks like it could be his greatest work yet. There is still a long time before the early signing period, and the Tigers are not done yet.

LSU makes final 9 for top 150 defensive lineman in 2025 class

LSU made the top nine for a 2025 defensive tackle.

LSU made the cut for 2025 three-star defensive lineman [autotag]Xavier Ukponu[/autotag].

Ukpuno released his top nine, which included LSU along with Arkansas, Oregon, Cal, Texas A&M, Florida, USC, Oklahoma State and Washington.

According to On3, Ukponu is the 69th-best defensive lineman in his class and 140th-rated player in the state of Texas. The On3 Prediction Machine has Texas in the lead, but the Tigers are a close second.

Ukponu would be the first defensive tackle addition to LSU’s 2025 class. It’s a position of need as head coach Brian Kelly and defensive line coach [autotag]Bo Davis[/autotag] look to rebuild LSU’s interior defensive line.

LSU’s 2025 class is among the best in the country, sitting second in On3’s rankings and third at 247Sports.

Ukponu isn’t the only defensive tackle on LSU’s radar. [autotag]Trajden Odom[/autotag], [autotag]Zion Williams[/autotag] and [autotag]Dilan Battle[/autotag] are all set to take official visits next month.

With LSU chasing DTs in the portal, it’s critical to land some high school guys too, creating year-to-year consistency in the room.

LSU offers 4-star defensive lineman from Arlington, Texas

Brian Kelly is working on bolstering his defensive line in 2025.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] is working on bolstering his defensive line in 2025 by heavily recruiting a lot of talented defensive linemen. That search has led him to Arlington, Texas, where he found a four-star defensive lineman who currently has no favorites to land him per On3.

[autotag]Dilan Battle [/autotag]is a 6-foot-2, 315-pound, four-star defensive lineman who plays for Mansfield Timberview High School. The Mansfield Timberview Wolves finished the 2023 season 9-2 with a loss to Wakeland in the first round of the 5A D1 playoffs.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Battle and there are no clear favorites to land him per On3.

2025 Texas prospect Dilan Battle receives offer from Oklahoma

Oklahoma offered 2025 DL Dilan Battle out of Texas. Battle is a tough run-stopping interior defensive lineman.

The 2024 class, particularly the defensive linemen, is all the rage when discussing recruiting for the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma is knee-deep in heavyweight battles for multiple five and four-star defensive linemen.

[autotag]Williams Nwaneri[/autotag], [autotag]David Stone[/autotag], [autotag]Joseph Jonah-Ajonye[/autotag], [autotag]Nigel Smith[/autotag], [autotag]Danny Okoye[/autotag], and [autotag]Jayden Jackson[/autotag] all come to mind when discussing prospects Oklahoma is fighting for in meaningful capacities. Oklahoma could take up to five or six defensive linemen in their class, so the net is wide.

For the 2025 class, the defensive line will likely not be nearly as big of a focus if Oklahoma does load up in the 2024 class. But they need to attack the defensive trenches with the same fervor. The 2025 class will be their first signing class after spending a season in the SEC. The Sooners will know the types of athletes and players they’ll need to compete.

Guys like 2025 defensive line prospect Dilan Battle fit the mold along the defensive interior. Battle is a 6-foot-2, 315-pound interior disruptor for his Mansfield Timberview team. He sheds blockers with the best of them, and it remains his biggest asset as a player right now.

Much of the concern about Oklahoma’s defensive line centers around the lack of size in the middle left over from the Alex Grinch days. Battle is a ready-made nose tackle that could step in and line up over the center from day one.

While 247Sports doesn’t have him ranked, Battle’s offer sheet includes some heavy hitters indicating that it’s only a matter of time before recruiting services are forced to re-evaluate and rank him accordingly.

PHOTOS: Texas A&M Football welcomes Class of 2024 and 2025 recruits over the weekend

It was a big weekend for Aggies football as they welcomed a number of recruits from the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes to College Station.

It may have been April Fool’s weekend for most of us, but it was no joke for Texas A&M as the Maroon and White were hard at work hosting a number of talented football recruits at College Station over the last few days.

A number of players from the Class of 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes descended upon Aggieland over the weekend with the hopes of getting a feel for the football program after already receiving offers from A&M. For a handful of players it marked a return visit, while others were able to don the Maroon and White for the first time as a potential preview.

From the looks of it, they all enjoyed their time at Aggieland as the players took to social media to share their experiences. Check out the photos below, and here’s to hoping we see some of them don the Maroon and White permanently in the future!
