Ex-Celtics sharpshooter Matt Ryan on the Deuce Tatum-Grant Williams feud

The NBA journeyman gave his view of how the rivalry came to be and how it looked last he witnessed it.

Among the greatest of Boston Celtics rivalries, the ire between former Celtics reserve forward Grant Williams and Boston legend Deuce Tatum is a vendetta that will live on after both Williams and Deuce have moved on from their current careers as an NBA big man and darling of the Celtics’ organization respectively. But Jayson Tatum’s son and the St. Louis native’s former teammate have reportedly patched things up since Williams’ exit from the organization.

A mostly one-way feud to be honest, former Celtics sharpshooter Matt Ryan recently weighed in on the rivalry from his perspective in an interview with “The Hoops Chat’s” Emily Austin.

The NBA journeyman gave his view of how the rivalry came to be and how it looked last he witnessed it, as well as plenty of other Celtics stories in the full interview.

When Jayson Tatum recently visited comedian Kevin Hart for an appearance on his the hit YouTube series “Cold as Balls,” and the Boston Celtics superstar made sure to show up with a gift. Tatum offered Hart a Celtics jersey he borrowed from his five-year-old son Deuce, which Hart reluctantly admitted fit pretty well.

Tatum as tapped as the first guest to help Hart kick off the ninth season of the show. The premise of the show is a general interview-style program where both host and guest are taking an ice bath, hence the name. Hart as previously hosted familiar faces such as Blake Griffin and Kevin Garnett.

Hart is 5-foot-2, and often rolls with the punches when his height is mentioned. This is especially true whenever Hart has made his way into NBA circles. This moment with Tatum was no exception

Celtics alum Grant Williams opens up on the beef with Deuce Tatum

Williams’ ties to Boston endure, as does a mostly one-sided beef with the biggest star in the Celtics locker room, Deuce Tatum.

Even though he is no longer a member of the Boston Celtics, the ties Dallas Mavericks forward Grant Williams forged with the team that drafted him endure, as does a mostly one-sided beef between Williams and the biggest star in the Celtics locker room, Deuce Tatum.

The Tennessee alum recently opened up about that feud in an interview with “The Hoop Chat’s” Emily Austin. “Me and Deuce don’t have beef,” explained Williams. “That’s my guy.” Noting that the beef emanated from the younger Tatum, the Charlotte native explained that “it’s one of those … love-hate” things given he’ll always be there for him.

Austin and Williams got into what it’s been like watching Deuce grow up over the three years the now-Mavs swingman has been in the league; “It’s funny, he’s getting older now, he’s starting to talk.”

Check out the clip embedded above to hear what Williams had to say about his feud with Deuce and watching him grow up in the Celtics’ locker room.

Jayson Tatum’s son Deuce left Donovan Mitchell hanging in a hilarious courtside interaction

Deuce totally pulled the same stunt on his father’s teammate Grant Williams, too!

Jayson Tatum’s son, Deuce, showed everyone that he is not to be bothered during the heat of competition when the Celtics are on the court.

Deuce is a regular when the Celtics play home games at the TD Garden in Boston. The five-year-old boy is well-known around the league and he has become a fan favorite among NBA players like Draymond Green.

If you want a fist bump from Deuce, like the one he gave to rapper Nelly during the NBA Finals, it might have to wait until after the game is over. Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Donovan Mitchell learned this the hard way:

Mitchell scored a career-high 71 points earlier this season, but that clearly didn’t impress Deuce. He totally left Mitchell hanging on both a high-five and a subsequent fist bump attempt.

According to Bri Marie D, Deuce had a “change of heart” but couldn’t actually give Mitchell love because the game resumed.

If it makes Mitchell feel any better, Deuce totally pulled the same stunt on his father’s teammate Grant Williams during the postseason last year.

Tatum recently caught up with For The Win’s Mike Sykes to discuss his new signature shoe, which is very much worth watching if you have not already had the chance.

Draymond Green hilariously shook Deuce Tatum up like a bag of popcorn after the Warriors’ loss to the Celtics

Draymond didn’t have to shake Deuce up like that, man.

The Warriors had a tough loss against the Celtics on Thursday. They held an 8-point lead in the waning moments of the 4th quarter but squandered it. The Celtics came back to win in overtime 121-118.

Obviously, that’s a tough loss. But, clearly, it wasn’t something worth sulking over. At least not to Draymond Green, anyway. The loss didn’t stop him from sharing this hilarious moment with Deuce Tatum — Jayson Tatum’s son — after the game.

He ran up behind Deuce, popped a towel over his head and scooped the kid up. He then proceeded to shake him up…like a bag of popcorn.

You know, when you type it out, this actually sounds kind of like revenge. Watch out Deuce.

All jokes aside, it was hilarious and just the kind of moment the kid seemed to love. Deuce seemed to be having a great time with all of it. It’s also cool to see this side of Draymond Green as opposed to the hardened version we get sometimes.

Fans thought this interaction was hilarious. They also wanted to know why Draymond had to shake Deuce up like this. Talk about questions that need answers. There were lots of jokes.

Miss a flight to hang out with Deuce Tatum? No problem

Check out this video giving us a look at Boston Celtics’ star Jayson Tatum’s life off of the court.

Ever wonder what it might be like to hang out with superstar Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum for the day? Or maybe even three days?

The host of the eponymous “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” show recently did exactly that while shooting a long-form video taking stock of the St. Louis native‘s life as he was getting ready for the 2022-23 NBA season fresh off taking some time to collect himself after losing to the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals.

Bensinger and Tatum spent time with each other in both the Duke alumnus’ Missouri hometown and Boston, even getting a warm welcome from the most popular member of the Tatum family (Deuce, for the uninitiated) when the crew gets back to Massachusetts.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to see a behind-the-scenes peek into Taco Jay’s quotidian life.
