Florida Gators Four-Star commit sets date for Longhorns visit

According to Rivals, four-star defensive lineman commit Joseph Mbatchou has set his official visit to Texas for Oct. 18

While the Texas Longhorns have been preparing to take on the Oklahoma Sooners, they have also been busy on the recruiting trail. According to Rivals, four-star defensive lineman commit Joseph Mbatchou has set his official visit to Texas for Oct. 18. His trip to Austin will come during the same weekend the Longhorns take on Georgia.

As Texas looks to flip Mbatchou, they are not the only program showing interest. He has received offers from South Carolina, Auburn, USC, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee. He made an unofficial visit to Texas last month and set official visits with Auburn and Florida in November.

The Longhorns’ interest in Mbatchou comes as no surprise. 247Sports ranks him the No. 46th defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 50 overall player in Georgia.

When asked about Texas, Mbatchou told Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman, ” “Right now, Texas is probably recruiting me the hardest.”

If Mbatchou were to join the Longhorns, he would be part of a talented 2025 class. The Longhorns already have commitments from five-star prospects such as receiver Kaliq Lockett, safety/linebacker Jonah Williams, and receiver Jaime Ffrench. On Thursday, they flipped four-star receiver Daylan McCutcheon, who had committed to Florida State.

As the recruiting season for the 2025 class winds down, Mbarchou will be a player to watch. He has a bright future and could excel in Austin. In less than a week, the Longhorns will make their case and show the Grayson High School product why they are his best option.

2025 4-star WR and Florida State commit is currently visiting Texas A&M

One of the top 2025 wide receiver prospects is reportedly visiting College Station today

Texas A&M’s (2-1. 1-0 SEC) Week 4 home matchup against Bowling Green (1-1) will feature just some of the Aggies’ 21 commits in the 2025 recruiting class as head coach Mike Elko looks to keep the momentum going against the Falcons on Saturday night.

However, while the 2025 cycle is filled with future defensive talent, securing elite prospects at the wide receiver position has been an issue under first-year wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, whose impressive recruiting track record during his time at Alabama has failed to carry over to College Station.

However, according to recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway, Elko and Wiggins are reportedly hosting 2025 4-star wide receiver and current Florida State commit Daylan McCutcheon on Saturday, looking to take advantage of the Seminole’s immense struggles on the field this season.

Amid his senior season at Lovejoy HS in Lucas, Texas, McCutcheon is a quick-footed, twitchy athlete with plenty of speed who consistently takes the top off of most secondaries while putting up big numbers over his last two seasons.

During his sophomore and junior seasons at Lovejoy, McCutcheon reeled in 117 receptions, 1,704 yards, and 22 touchdowns through the air.

According to 247Sports Composite, McCutcheon is currently positioned as the 106th-ranked ranked prospect, the 14th-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 20th-ranked prospect in Texas.

2025 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson and 3-star wideout Tristan Norman are Texas A&M’s only receiver commits in the cycle thus far.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Michigan football offers elite 2025 WR from Texas

#Michigan is making Texas a priority lately. #GoBlue

Michigan football has been working more and more to get into the talent-rich state of Texas. While it’s had minimal success, there appears to be more determination as of late.

That continued on Wednesday, with one of the Wolverines’ latest offers.

Hailing from Lucas (Tx.) Lovejoy, wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon is rated the No. 105 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, the fourth-best athlete, and the 14th-best player in the state of Texas in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Already boasting 22 offers, McCutcheon is reportedly up another with the news that Michigan football has come calling with an opportunity to play college football in Ann Arbor.

McCutcheon already has a number of high-profile offers, including from Arkansas, Florida State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.

A dual-sport athlete who also runs track, McCutcheon reportedly ran a 12.2-second 100-meter dash.

After Brent Venables Football camp, several 2025 prospects receive Oklahoma offers

After attending Brent Venables’ Football Camp, several 2025 prospects received Oklahoma offers.

Fall camp begins next week, and the 2022 college football season is less than five weeks away, but recruiting never stops.

The Sooners have had a big month of July, putting themselves in a position to finish with one of the best classes in the 2023 cycle and potentially their best class in the modern recruiting era.

At No. 6 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings, OU still has several more prospects that could join their already stellar class, including Jacobe Johnson, Makari Vickers and David Hicks. They’re not done yet.

The Sooners spent this week hosting players across several recruiting classes for Brent Venables’ Football Camp and the Party at the Palace. Camps have paid huge dividends for the Sooners this summer, helping them find players such as Keyon Brown and Jasiah Wagoner, recent 2023 commits.

At this week’s camp, several high school freshmen earned offers from the Oklahoma Sooners: Cornerback Devin Sanchez, wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, athlete Terrance Edwards, linebacker Noah Mikhail, and safety Anquon Fegans.

Brent Venables and his coaching staff place a premium on face-to-face interactions and on-field evaluations. The camps they’ve been hosting this summer have proven an invaluable resource as they look to build the program for the present and the future.
