Stephen Curry paid respect to a group of medical professionals for their services during the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephen Curry is taking his talents from the court over to the fight against coronavirus. While the NBA season is on hold, the two-time Most Valuable Player has been busy.

Through his Eat. Learn. Play foundation, Curry and his wife Ayesha have set up a meal donation plan for out of school children in the Bay Area. Golden State’s point guard also hosted a COVID-19 informative Q&A session with infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Curry’s next step was to reach out to a group of medical professionals battling the coronavirus on the frontlines. The six-time All-Star surprised a group of intensive care nurses in the Bay Area to thank them for their work during the pandemic.

On a Facetime call, Curry spoke with Shelby Delaney and other members of the Summit Medical Center in Oakland. Delaney recently posted a message on Instagram wearing a Golden State No. 30 jersey under her uniform. Curry thanked Delaney and her coworkers for being an inspiration.

I can’t thank god enough for what you’re doing — just the sacrifice, the selflessness, the way everybody is coming together. Thank you so much for what you do, your heart and the inspiration y’all provide for everybody.

Jayson Tatum gives credit to Stephen Curry for changing the game

Jayson Tatum has high praise for Stephen Curry.

After bringing three championships and a pair of Most Valuable Player awards to the Bay Area, Stephen Curry has earned respect around the league.

On Friday, an Eastern Conference All-Star had high praise for Golden State’s point guard.

In a live Instagram video with hoops skills coach Pep Stanciel, Jayson Tatum ranked Curry as one of the top 20 NBA players of all-time. According to the young Boston Celtics’ forward, Curry changed basketball.

Via Chris Montano on Twitter:

I was going to say Steph changed the game, bro. They don’t want you to shoot mid-range anymore — it’s just trey balls.

Tatum’s assessment of Curry’s impact on the game isn’t far off. After drilling a record 402 3-pointers during the 2015-16 season, Curry was a driving force in ushering a new wave of basketball from beyond the arc.

The 22-year-old has laced up against Curry four times in his career, averaging 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

In 2018, Curry put on a show when Tatum and the Celtics traveled to Oakland’s Oracle Arena. The Davidson product dropped 49 points on 16-of-24 shooting from the field. Curry recorded eight three-pointers, with five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Injuries held Curry out for both matchups with Tatum during the Duke product’s All-Star season. Curry and Tatum will have to wait till the 2020-21 season for their next matchup.

Watch: Steph Curry tells Javale McGee he can drop 60 points on ‘everybody’

Stephen Curry is confident when it comes to scoring the basketball.

While the NBA season is on hold, Stephen Curry has been active with his time under quarantine. When the Golden State Warriors’ point guard isn’t busy working towards the fight against COVID-19, Curry has been chiming in on social media.

On Friday, Curry jumped in with his former teammate JaVale McGee on Instagram. During their live video, the Los Angeles Lakers’ center asked Curry about his lethal scoring talent.

JM: What team or player on that team that you know is guarding you, do you look at and be like — ‘oh yeah, I’m getting 60 tonight.’

SC: Oh … Everybody.

JM: What is going on? Steph Curry just took shots at every player.

SC: Quarantine done changed me. What’s next?

JM: I’m not going to lie — I was not expecting that answer.

SC: I gave it just for you. That was just for you.

Watch McGee go into a frenzy after Curry’s answer, via Chris Montano on Twitter:

After winning back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards and a scoring title, it’s not a surprise Curry is confident in his ability to fill it up. However, during his 10 seasons in the NBA, Curry has yet to drop 60 points on anyone in his career.

The Davidson product has recorded 50 or more points on six different occasions during his time in the association, with his high of 54 coming against the New York Knicks in 2013.

Only four players have registered 60 points as members of the Golden State Warriors, with one being Curry’s fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson.

Once the NBA returns to game action, Curry will have 17 games left on the 2019-20 calendar to back up his 60 point claim.

Steph Curry filling in as substitute second grade teacher with family at home

Stephen Curry reveals his quarantine schedule.

On Friday, Stephen Curry hosted a pop quiz contest with other NBA players on Instagram. With no basketball on the schedule, Curry checked in with Damion Lee, Seth Curry, Mo Bamba, Kent Bazemore and other players around the league to ask them questions regarding NBA history.

Along with the quiz, Golden State’s point guard caught up with his fellow players that are also going through life without basketball. When former Warrior JaVale McGee joined Curry’s Instagram live, Curry revealed what his schedule looks like under quarantine.

While he’s off the court, Curry is spending time as a substitute teacher for his daughter Riley’s second-grade class.

Via Whitley Sandretto of 95.7 The Game:

Quarantine schedule is going great. I’m actually not the best at making the schedule, but when it comes to the day it looks something like this — wake up, get a little workout in, then my daughter’s second-grade class starts, and I’m like the substitute teacher for a little bit.

After his daughter logs into her class through a Zoom conference call, Curry supervises the in-class assignments and homework.

Follow them on the Zoom conference. They get on the whole class. Then after the class is over, I’m the one that’s got to sit there and dish out the paper and all of the materials — so she’s got to sit there and do it.

While Curry is a two-time Most Valuable Player and six-time All-Star on the court, he’s just a “three-star teacher” in the classroom, according to his daughter.

She told my mom today she said, I’m a three-star teacher, I said dang, that’s cold-blooded. I’m invested in your future young lady.

March Madness rewind: Steph Curry leads Davidson to Elite Eight bid over Wisconsin

Stephen Curry added 33 of Davidson’s 73 points in an upset Sweet 16 win against the Wisconsin Badgers.

While the NBA is still on hold due to the coronavirus, the college basketball season is over. The NCAA season was cut short prior to the iconic 68-team tournament.

With no March Madness in 2020, Warriors Wire is highlighting worthy performances from current members on the Golden State squad. Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Eric Paschall all recorded significant achievements in March. However, one Warrior was apart of an unforgettable upset run through the big dance.

Before he was splashing three-pointers on his way the Most Valuable Player award, Stephen Curry was a key piece for the 10th seeded Davidson Wildcats.

March 28, 2008

Behind a pair of jaw-dropping shooting displays against Gonzaga and Georgetown, Curry’s wildcats traveled to Fox Field in Detroit for the Sweet 16.

Davidson met up with the third-seeded Wisconsin Badgers in the Midwest Regional Final. Bo Ryan’s 30-5 Badgers boasted a rotation with three All-Big Ten players. Wisconsin’s guard Joe Krabenhoff was named to the Big-Ten All-Defensive Team. After two 15-point victories, the Badgers coasted into the Sweet 16.

No matter the accolades, it wasn’t enough to slow down Curry. The second-team All-American toasted the defensive combo of Krabenhoff and Michael Flowers for 33 of Davidson’s 73 points en route to the Elite Eight.

The future lottery pick drilled six shots from beyond the arc while adding four assists, four steals and three rebounds. Curry’s 33 in the Sweet 16 was his fourth straight 30-point effort in the NCAA Tournament.

However, Curry’s magical tournament run ended two days later in the Elite Eight to the future champion Kansas Jayhawks.

Today in Warriors history: Steph Curry breaks out for 39 points vs. Blazers in 2013

On March 30, 2013, Stephen Curry blistered the Blazers for 39 points in a blowout win.

It’s been almost three weeks since the Golden State Warriors last played a basketball game. The remaining 17 games of the 2019-20 NBA season has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With no game action on the calendar until further notice, Warriors Wire is digging into Golden State’s history to find noteworthy performances of the past. Baron Davis, Jason Richardson and the “We Believe” era Dubs have had their moments in our rewinds. However, on March 30, 2013, it was Stephen Curry’s night.

Before Curry was taking home Most Valuable Player trophies, he was busy trying to lead the Warriors to their first playoff appearance in six years. During the stretch run of the season, Curry and the Warriors welcomed Damian Lillard to his hometown of Oakland.

March 30, 2013

During his Rookie of the Year campaign, Lillard dropped 37 points in his first trip to Oracle Arena. In round two, Curry got the best of Lillard, holding him to only 16 points on 4-of-11 shooting in Golden State’s blowout 125-98 victory against Portland.

Curry dazzled in his breakout season with 39 points on 14-of-22 shooting. The Davidson product’s effort against Portland was his third-highest scoring total of the season. Curry drilled seven 3-pointers while tallying six assists and five rebounds in 37 minutes.

Carl Landry added a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds off the bench to move Golden State to 42-32 with eight games remaining on the season.
