Oklahoma Sooners get prediction for 4-Star 2025 running back

The 2025 recruiting cycle has be gone and Oklahoma receives yet another prediction for talented 2025 running back.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off and running on their 2025 recruiting class. The Sooners are currently sitting with a top-five 2025 class and nine commitments.

They are hoping to add to that after a strong Junior Day this past weekend. One of those guys could be 4-Star running back from Humble, TX, Tory Blaylock. The Sooners got another prediction for Blaylock, this time from 247Sports Oklahoma Insider Collin Kennedy.

The Sooners currently do not have a running back committed. Blaylock is the 12th-best running back in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s also a top 160 overall player.

This would be a huge win for Oklahoma if they are able to pull it off but there is obviously still a long way to go before signing day.

4-Star safety Reggie Powers predicted to land with Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners earned a crystal ball projection in the recruitment of 2024 four-star safety Reggie Powers.

The Oklahoma Sooners are on another roll on the recruiting trail for the 2024 recruiting class. They’ve picked up a pair of commitments over the last couple of days from Michael Boganowski and Devon Jordan.

Now, they look to be trending in a positive direction for 2024 four-star safety Reggie Powers. On Friday evening, Iowa State recruiting insider Nick Osen issued a 247Sports crystal ball prediction favoring the Sooners.

Powers was at one time committed to Michigan State but backed off of that pledge at the end of September. Days before his decommitment, the Oklahoma Sooners offered the talented safety out of Dayton, Ohio.

Powers is an athletic and physical safety that can play in the box or provide help in single or two-high safety looks.

According to 247Sports, he recorded 80 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, 10 pass breakups and a pair of forced fumbles.

The Sooners and UCLA are the two teams in heaviest pursuit of Powers. He’ll be in Norman on Saturday for Oklahoma’s game against the UCF Knights for an unofficial visit.

If the Oklahoma Sooners were able to land Reggie Powers, it would give them another really good safety prospect to add to their ranks.

Iowa State insider predicts Xavier Robinson to the Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners appear to be trending again for in-state four-star running back Xavier Robinson.

The Oklahoma Sooners’ running back recruiting efforts for the 2024 recruiting cycle are interesting. Quite a few names have been projected to the Sooners over the last year, but as official visits take place, it seems we’re getting an idea who DeMarco Murray and the Sooners want in their 2024 running back class.

That appears to be the case for 2024 running back Xavier Robinson. Robinson, an in-state prospect from Carl Albert High School, looked like he was trending to the Sooners in the spring. Now after spending some time Notre Dame and Iowa State, Oklahoma’s arrow keeps pointing up for The Oklahoman’s Class 5A offensive player of the year for 2022.

Iowa State insider’s Nick Olsen issued a crystal ball prediction on Thursday, believing Oklahoma will be able to keep the talented Robinson in the Sooner State.

Updated look at each crystal ball issued for the Sooners in the 2024 cycle

The Sooners are picking up some serious momentum for the 2024 cycle, but which players have they received crystal ball predictions for?

The Oklahoma Sooners finally broke the ice on their 2024 recruiting class over the weekend with a commitment from four-star cornerback Jeremiah Newcombe.

Newcombe’s commitment came in the wake of a number of crystal ball predictions being issued after visits to Norman.

The Oklahoma Sooners are on commitment watch with several targets in the cycle. Aaron Flowers and Michael Hawkins plan to announce their decisions on April 7 and 8, respectively. But with the number of predictions favoring the Sooners, we’re at the time of the cycle where decisions could come at any time.

As we near the end of March, here’s a look at each of the 2024 prospects to receive a crystal ball from 247Sports recruiting analysts and an updated look at where their recruitment stand.

Oklahoma Sooners receive crystal ball for 2024 safety Mykel Patterson-McDonald

Parker Thune of OUInsider at 247Sports issued a crystal ball for 2024 safety Mykel Patterson-McDonald.

The Oklahoma Sooners are making progress on the 2024 recruiting cycle, with just shy of a year until 2024’s national signing day.

They received another recruiting projection for 2024 safety [autotag]Mykel Patterson-McDonald[/autotag]. Parker Thune of OUInsider at 247Sports issued a projection for the Westmoore product. Josh McCuistion of SoonerScoop.com and Rivals issued a FutureCast Patterson-McDonald a couple of weeks ago.

Here’s what I had to say about Patterson-McDonald on Feb. 1.

Simply put, Patterson-McDonald plays big and plays with tenacity. He attacks the ball in the air and is physical at the catch point. When receivers are targeted over the middle of the field, Patterson-McDonald makes sure they feel his presence with physical hits. He also does a great job playing the ball when it’s in the air. He shows good awareness and reaction when the ball is thrown, allowing him to jump routes to pick off passes. – Williams, Sooners Wire

He has the ability and tenacity to be a really good safety or nickel corner for Oklahoma. Though he’s unrated at the moment, over the next year, he’ll start gaining steam as a prospect. He plays fast and with an edge that will fit right in with what Brent Venables and his defensive staff are building in Norman.

Oklahoma earns second projection in favor of landing four-star WR Bryant Wesco

The Oklahoma Sooners earned a crystal ball prediction for 2024 four-star wide receiver Bryant Wesco.

Oklahoma’s addition of Emmett Jones looks like it could pay off with a new wide receiver commit sooner rather than later. Oklahoma received their second projection in favor of landing four-star receiver [autotag]Bryant Wesco[/autotag].

Parker Thune of OUInsider has officially gotten on board with the Wesco to Oklahoma train with a crystal ball prediction. Coupled with the Rivals FutureCast already locked in for Wesco, it looks like Oklahoma is closing in on the four-star offensive prospect.

Wesco has an offer list that continues to get more impressive by the week. While there is no timetable for a decision, Jones’ effort in recruiting the talented 2024 receiver has not gone unnoticed.

As it stands right now, Big 12 foes, TCU and Oklahoma, seem to be on a collision course for a final showdown to earn Wesco’s commitment. TCU has been in a prime position since last summer, but Oklahoma’s gaining ground fast. They have the added factor of Wesco’s sister being an Oklahoma soccer player. It’s an ace up their sleeve that could look very large when decision time comes.

Oklahoma receives projections for Jacobe Johnson, includes Sooners in top 5

The Oklahoma Sooners land inside the top 5 for 2023 four-star athlete Jacobe Johnson out of Mustang, Oklahoma.

One of the biggest dominos left to drop on the Oklahoma Sooners recruiting check list is 2023 four-star athlete Jacobe Johnson. Johnson, a top three player in the state of Oklahoma, has long been projected to land with the Sooners, but has patiently been working through his process this recruiting cycle.

Johnson is ranked inside the top 50 on the ESPN 300 list and is a top 100 prospect according to On3 Recruiting and the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a top 10 athlete in the 2023 recruiting class. Johnson released his top five on Wednesday and included the Oklahoma Sooners, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Stanford Cardinal.

Over the last week Parker Thune of OUInsider.com at 247Sports issued a crystal ball projection for the Oklahoma Sooners to land Jacobe Johnson. According to Thune, the Sooners plan to play the 6-foot-3 talent out of Mustang, Okla. at cornerback. All four crystal ball predictions from 247Sports favor the Oklahoma Sooners.

Shortly after releasing his top five Wednesday evening, the Sooners received another projection, this time from Rivals’ Michigan recruiting editor Zach Libby.

Johnson’s athletic profile could lend him to playing on either side of the football at the collegiate level and it looks like the Sooners will have another cornerback to add to their 2023 recruiting class that includes four-star cornerback Jasiah Wagoner.

With commitment incoming, Sooners get another crystal ball for 2023 4-star edge Colton Vasek

With his commitment imminent, the Oklahoma Sooners received another crystal ball for Colton Vasek, this time from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong.

At this point, it feels like a foregone conclusion, but the Oklahoma Sooners look to be trending toward a commitment from 2023 four-star edge Colton Vasek out of Austin Westlake in Texas.

Vasek, the son of a former Texas defensive end, spent time in Austin with the Longhorns before visiting Norman for the Party at the Palace. Based on the early returns from Friday’s event, it appears the Sooners made a strong impression on the talented defensive end.

After receiving several predictions on Saturday to land Vasek, the Sooners received a crystal ball prediction to get a commitment from 247Sports Steve Wiltfong on Sunday.

After Oklahoma was included inside the top five for Colton Vasek in early June, it appears the Sooners are the odds-on favorite to land the Texas product.

This would mark the second edge player in the last couple of weeks to commit to the Sooners, who earlier landed Adepoju Adebawore, another four-star edge rusher in the 2023 recruiting class.

Oklahoma is recruiting defense at a high level under Brent Venables, and we haven’t seen anything yet.

Sooners receive several predictions in favor of landing 3-star safety Kaleb Spencer

After a successful spring game, the Sooners received several projections that have Oklahoma landing 2023 three-star safety Kaleb Spencer.

Oklahoma’s record-setting spring game is already paying huge dividends for the Sooners on the recruiting trail. A number of recruits reacted positively to the turnout and the experience in Norman that including more than 200 former Sooners Football players in attendance to usher in the Brent Venables era.

One of the early returns has Oklahoma a significant leader for 2023 three-star safety Kaleb Spencer out of Virginia. Spencer is regarded as a top 20 player in the state of Virginia in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Consensus.

Oklahoma’s received several Crystal Ball projections from 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong as well as OUInsider’s Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm. SoonerScoop.com’s Josh McCuistion has also issued a Rivals Forecast in favor of the Sooners. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Sooners a 95.1% chance of landing a commitment from Kaleb Spencer.

His size and frame make him an intriguing prospect to add to the Sooners’ defense.

He displays good awareness and strong closing speed. He’s a physical player, unafraid to throw his body into tacklers or take on blocks. When playing in the box, he does a good job of setting the edge in the run game and timing his blitz as a pass rusher.

While a three-star at this point in the recruiting cycle, it wouldn’t be surprising if this diamond in the rough adds a fourth star by the end of the 2023 season. He has all the tools to be an impact defender at the collegiate level.

Sooners receive Crystal Ball predictions from 247Sports for 2023 four-star OT Cayden Green

A day after releasing his top five, the Oklahoma received two crystal ball predictions from 247Sports for four-star tackle Cayden Green.

There’s an adage about wherever there’s smoke, there’s fire. In the case of the Oklahoma Sooners, the smoke is a new Crystal Ball prediction from one of 247Sports’ biggest recruiting aficionados. The fire would be a possible commitment from a four-star offensive tackle out of Missouri.

Just yesterday, four-star tackle Cayden Green released the top five schools in his recruitment, which included Oklahoma. Less than a day later, the Sooners appear to be in the driver’s seat with two predictions from 247Sports Director Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu.

Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has been on Cayden Green for a year now offering him a scholarship back March 1, 2021. That foundation in addition to a visit earlier this month has the Sooners buzzing in the race for one of the country’s top 100 players.

A commitment from Green would be a much-needed win for Bedenbaugh, providing some momentum that could propel their efforts to recruit offensive linemen to fit new offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby’s veer-n-shoot system.

No commitment is imminent but multiple crystal balls a day after dropping a top five is nothing to turn the other way on.
