WATCH: New Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel talks to Tua Tagovailoa for first time

Tua got to speak with his new head coach before he even touched down in Miami!

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is heading into his third season in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, which is expected to be a make-or-break season for him.

The Dolphins recently parted ways with the franchise’s head coach of three years, Brian Flores, and hired former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel.

McDaniel has never been a head coach before, but has been rising through the ranks since 2005. His innovative offensive schemes lead many to believe he holds the keys to unlocking Tagovailoa’s potential in the NFL.

On the flight to Miami, McDaniel Facetimed Tagovailoa. McDaniel said that as his coach, he plans on getting “all of the greatness” out of him.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Tagovailoa and other former Alabama stars in the NFL.

Alabama Lands commitment from 3-star TE out of Louisiana, Danny Lewis

Alabama Lands a big-time commitment from the 3-star TE!

Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class grows slightly larger today, as Danny lewis, a highly-sought after tight end out of Louisiana chose the Crimson Tide over Florida and LSU.

Lewis has been given three-stars, according to 247Sports, but was highly recruited by other big-time programs, especially within the SEC.

As a tall and bulky tight end, Lewis may be something unique for Alabama. A blocking and pass-catching tight end is not utilized all too often in Tuscaloosa, but having a player like Lewis at the position may change things up.

At his high school, Lewis had three hats in front of him: Alabama, LSU and Florida.

When it came time to make his decision, he was sporting the Crimson Tide cap.

Former Alabama LB DeMeco Ryans interviews for Minnesota Vikings HC job

The former Alabama LB has been interviewed for the Vikings HC job!

Despite the fact that the NFL playoffs are ongoing, plenty of teams have moved onto the offseason, looking ahead to the 2022 draft and some have a head coaching vacancy to fill before then.

Each team looking for a head coach is searching for something different. The Minnesota Vikings may be looking for a defensive-minded head coach.

Today, the team announced via Twitter that the franchise conducted an interview with San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans.

Ryans was an outside linebacker for the Crimson Tide in the Mike Shula era and spent nearly a decade in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans.

The 37-year-old defensive coordinator is currently preparing for the NFC Championship game and can’t be hired until his season concludes.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Ryans and the possibility of him being hired as an NFL head coach for the 2022 season.

Alabama holds solid lead over Cincinnati at half in Cotton Bowl CFP Semifinal 17-3

Alabama holds the lead, needs strong second half to secure national championship spot.

Top-ranked Alabama holds a 17-3 lead over the No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic College Football Semifinal matchup. The winner of this matchup will face the winner of No. 2 Michigan and No. 3 Georgia in the Capital One Orange Bowl.

Brian Robinson jr. and the run game is the key to success for the Crimson Tide offense, with Robinson carrying the ball 17 times for 134 yards. Overall, Alabama ball carriers have ran for 172 yards.

Bryce Young has been the reason for both touchdowns by Alabama, throwing two, one to Slade Bolden and one to Ja’Corey Brooks. He’s completed 12 of 20 passes for 130 yards.

The Crimson Tide defense has done a great job of applying pressure to Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder, mitigating his passing yards to 59 for only eight completions in 17 attempts.

Jerome Ford, the former Alabama running back, has carried the ball five times for only 23 yards for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats offense has been held to a field goal in the first half.

Will Anderson jr. and the Crimson Tide defense will need to remain strong and limit Cincinnati’s scoring opportunities, as Bill O’Brien’s offense continues to hit the ground game and run the clock.

Young and Jameson Williams have yet to hit big, as Cincinnati defensive back Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner has been a factor in designing the Crimson Tide’s offensive gameplan.

The winner of this game will move onto the national championship game in Indianapolis.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover the Crimson Tide throughout the second half of the Cotton Bowl against Cincinnati.

WATCH: Alabama OL Javion Cohen trolls Auburn Bowl practice with ‘Crimson Crane’

The hilarious troll continues into the Bowl season!

Just a few days after Alabama defensive back DeMarcco Hellams delivered a powerful comeback on Twitter in response to a Texas A&M player’s attempt at a diss, Crimson Tide offensive lineman Javion Cohen may have just done one better.

As Alabama’s in-state rival, Auburn, prepares for the Birmingham Bowl, where the Tigers will face Houston, the team is practicing at Hoover High School in Birmingham, and they received a very special visitor.

In a clip shared to Twitter by Cohen, the ‘Crimson Crane’ made an appearance overlooking the Auburn practice.

It’s important to remember Auburn attempted mocking the move, popularized by wide receivers John Metchie III and Jameson Williams, during the 2021 Iron Bowl, which ended in a four-overtime stunning comeback win by the Crimson Tide.

Alabama is scheduled to play in the College Football semifinal in the Cotton Bowl against Cincinnati on Dec. 31.

Billy Napier to Florida makes for another wild former Saban assistant fact

The Nick Saban coaching tree continues to expand!

Nick Saban is known for uplifting and helping his assistant coaches, which aids them in getting newer jobs, often promotions. Well, the 2015 Alabama team had a coaching staff that continues to impress and seek bigger and better opportunities.

The 2015 Crimson Tide coaching staff was recently brought into the spotlight because of the success at Oregon and Michigan State, where Mario Cristobal and Mel Tucker are the respective head coaches, both were on the 2015 staff.

Now, with Napier to Florida, another member of that staff has been hired as a Power Five head coach.

Georgia has Kirby Smart, Ole Miss has Lane Kiffin, Michigan State has Mel Tucker and has Oregon Mario Cristobal.

Breaking down Tim Tebow’s mild attempt at roasting the Alabama Crimson Tide

Tim Tebow gave it his all, but this was definitely not the roast he thought it was going to be.

Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has held a handful of different ties in his career. Whether it be an NFL quarterback or a minor league outfielder, Tebow has worn a bunch of different hats. However, one that he tried on today was his ‘roasting cap.’

Yes, that’s right, Tebow was on live television attempting to roast somebody or something. Who was the target of his words? The Alabama Crimson Tide football program.

While live on SEC Nation in Gainesville with the rest of the crew, Tebow admits that the Crimson Tide are the top-ranked team in the nation, have been recruiting at a higher level than Florida and admits that Alabama would like win nine out of 10 times the two teams played.

The roast, so far, is not doing so well, but let’s keep going.

He argues that Alabama is going to have a hard time because they are not playing in Tuscaloosa or Atlanta. It should be noted that essentially calling the home of the SEC Championship game a place where Alabama consistently wins is not the best way to burn the team.

Tebow believes that because they are playing in Gainesville, Alabama will have a difficult time, and team’s don’t leave that city the same.

He finishes his minute-log monologue by claiming Alabama is going to get a “whooping.”

Alabama is on a seven-game win streak against the Gators and is favored by over two touchdowns in today’s contest.

Tim, I’m not going to give you a grade on this attempted roast, but if you give me a call, I’ll give you some pointers.

RAT POISON: 5 expectations for Alabama vs. Mercer

Here are five things to keep in mind when Alabama faces off against Mercer.

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide earned a win over then-No. 14 Miami in the season opening contest. Though the game was expected to end with an Alabama win, such a dominant performance from a young team was not fully expected.

For the Week 2 matchup, the Crimson Tide will welcome in Mercer for their home-opener.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Alabama has a 99.9% chance of winning the game. So, while there may not be many game-related storylines to follow, there are multiple things to keep an eye on as the Crimson Tide takes the field.

Is Bill Belichick hinting that Mac Jones has ‘opportunity’ to compete for starting job?

A rookie vs. an NFL MVP for the starting job in New England.

Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have a funny way of dealing with the media. What that means is: they don’t like to deal with the media. This means that Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones is used to hearing vague answers from his head coach at a post-game, or post-practice press conference.

The New England Patriots signed Cam Newton to a second one-year deal for the 2021 season, a move many thought was to allow their first-round pick from the 2021 NFL draft, Jones, time to learn the system.

However, now that Week 1 of the regular season is approaching, and things are heating up at training camp and in preseason games, some speculate that Jones could be the team’s starting quarterback to open the season.

Newton, who is being kept from practice due to a COVID-related issue, now must sit and watch Jones have alone time with the first team.

There wasn’t thought to be a quarterback battle heading into this season for the Patriots, but now it appears to be an all-out brawl for the job between a rookie and a former NFL MVP.

Today, Bill Belichick said that every player has an opportunity every day they are on the field, in reference to a question asked by a reporter regarding Newton’s absence and Jones’ high level of play.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Mac Jones’ journey through training camp as he prepares for his rookie season in the NFL with the New England Patriots.
