In addition to UConn’s mystique and aura, consider the fact that Creighton was almost ousted by Big East doormat DePaul Thursday, needing overtime to advance. UConn looks mighty attractive when you think about it that way.

The No. 1 Jayhawks played twice last week, taking down the then-No. 10 Duke Blue Devils 75-72 in a Tuesday neutral-site game and then cruising past Furman 86-51 in a Saturday home tilt. Kansas — which covered the spread in both of those games — is playing its first true road game with this visit to Creighton.

The Bluejays last played Saturday when they snapped a 3-game skid with a neutral-floor triumph over Notre Dame in Las Vegas. Creighton shot 45.8% from distance and held off a second-half charge from the Irish after CU led by as many as 17 points in the first.

If you’re a conservative bettor, back TEXAS A&M (-165) straight up, especially if you don’t feel like fiddling around with the points in this tournament game in Vegas.

It’s a little too expensive for my liking, but no one can play you if you’re not comfortable laying the points, especially if you want to toss the Aggies into multi-leg parlay.

Against the spread

Play TEXAS A&M -3.5 (-110) to get the job done by at least 2 buckets.

The Aggies showed some serious holes against Oregon in the tournament opener, but Creighton +3.5 (-110) is even chillier on offense, recording back-to-back games by double digits against Nebraska and San Diego State. And, the Bluejays are a dismal 1-5 ATS in the 6 games this season.

Over/Under

UNDER 143.5 (-105) is a solid play in this rebound game for both teams. Both sides could get off to a cold start as they look to avoid an 0-2 hole in this showcase in Vegas.

The Under has cashed in 5 in a row for Creighton, so that’s a huge driving factor in this play, too. The Bluejays haven’t been able to hit the broad side of the barn in the past 2 losses, averaging just 58.0 PPG.
