ACC Tournament: Louisville vs. NC State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Louisville vs. NC State odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Louisville Cardinals (8-23, 3-17 ACC) battle the NC State Wolfpack (17-14, 9-11) Tuesday in the 1st round of the ACC Tournament. Tip from Capital One Arena is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET (ACC Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Louisville vs. NC State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Louisville ended the regular season on a 7-game losing streak to finish last in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cardinals lost 67-61 Saturday as 4.5-point home underdogs to Boston College and the Under (151) cashed. Mister Do-It-All for Louisville, F Brandon Huntley-Hatfield had 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist in the loss. If the 15th-seeded Cardinals beat the 11th-seeded Wolfpack, they’ll face No. 7 seed Syracuse (20-11, 11-9) Wednesday evening.

The Wolfpack dropped their regular season finale at Pittsburgh 81-73 Saturday. They failed to cover the spread as 6.5-point underdogs with the Over (147.5) cashing. NC State received an All-American performance from G Jayden Taylor, who finished with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Wolfpack have not been to the ACC title game since 2007.

The Wolfpack defeated the Cardinals 89-83 in Louisville Jan. 13. The Cards covered as 7.5-point underdogs and the Over (148.5) cashed.

Louisville vs. NC State picks and predictions

Prediction

NC State 79, Louisville 68

Moneyline

PASS.

You should avoid betting NC State (-430) as the juice is pretty steep. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET NC STATE -8.5 (-120).

North Carolina State might be underestimated going into the ACC Tournament despite a 4-game losing streak. The Wolfpack had a tough stretch, playing 3 of the top 4 teams in the ACC in just 8 days. Be warned: Leading scorer G D.J. Horne (16.8 points per game) is uncertain to play Tuesday due to a leg injury.

Louisville has not only lost 7 in a row, it has failed to cover the spread in 7 straight, too. The Cardinals have been losing big, even to weaker teams. NC State beat Louisville 89-83 back in January. Despite the recent struggles, NC State seems poised for a double-digit win against Louisville.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 149.5 (-110).

These teams have gone Under in 2 of their last 3 head-to-head matchups.

Louisville has been Under in 5 of its last 6 games. The Cardinals struggle to score points, only going over 70 once in their last 6 games.

NC State can score but not as easily if Horne does not go. You have to think the Pack may rest him Tuesday so he’s healthier for the potential 2nd-round tilt with Syracuse. The Wolfpack have been Under in 2 of their last 3 games.

Duke at Louisville odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Duke at Louisville odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Duke Blue Devils (5-2, 2-1 ACC) and Louisville Cardinals (6-1, 3-1) meet Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Duke vs. Louisville odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Blue Devils are looking to bounce back after a 38-20 setback at Florida State, and Duke has now lost and failed to cover the spread in 2 of the past 3 games. The defense allowed a season-high point total, too, after having allowed just 59 total points in the 1st 6 games combined.

The big news for Duke is QB Riley Leonard (ankle) is a question mark. The line moved from 4 to 6.5 at some shops due to the injury news, as he aggravated a previous injury in his return at Florida State last weekend.

The Cardinals are looking to rebound after suffering a 38-21 loss at Pittsburgh last time out on Oct. 14. The 38 points allowed by the Cardinals were also a season high, and Louisville had conceded 20 or fewer points in 4 of the previous 5 outings.

Duke is No. 21 and Louisville is No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Duke at Louisville picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 25, Duke 17

Moneyline

Louisville (-225) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s too much risk and not enough reward in a game expected to be very close.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

LOUISVILLE -6.5 (-110) is the lean, but go very lightly. This should be a 1-score game, and a defensive battle. If Leonard is officially ruled out, go with the Cardinals a little more aggressively.

The Cardinals lead the all-time series 3-0, but these teams have met just twice as members of the ACC. Louisville pounded Duke 62-22 on Nov. 18, 2021, in a Thursday game in Durham, but the Blue Devils are much, much better defensively in 2023.

This will be a nail-biter for side bettors all the way until the clocks reach zeroes.

Over/Under

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is the way to go, as both of these defenses have been strong all season, sans the last game each played. If Leonard is a game-time decision, and he is not able to go, this could end up being quite a value.

The Under is 1-1-1 in 3 home games for Louisville, while hitting in the most recent game at Cardinal Stadium against Notre Dame.

The Over has actually cashed in each of the team’s 2 road games, including last time out at FSU. The side and the total should both be close shaves Saturday.

Louisville at Pitt odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Louisville at Pitt odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Pitt Panthers (1-4, 0-2 ACC) welcome the Louisville Cardinals (6-0, 3-0) to Acrisure Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET (CW Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Louisville vs. Pitt odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Louisville, No. 15 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports, beat the No. 21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Saturday, winning the prime-time Week 6 matchup 33-20 and covering as a 6-point home underdog. Louisville is 0-2-1 against the spread (ATS) away from home yet 2-0-1 ATS in its last 3 games. QB Jack Plummer leads the way offensively with 1,551 passing yards and 12 TDs.

Pitt had a byle in Week 6 after losing to Virginia Tech 38-21 on the road in Week 5 as a 3-point road favorite. It is 0-4-1 ATS this season and 0-2-1 ATS at home this season. QB Phil Jurkovec has been the main weapon on offense, totaling 818 passing yards and 7 total TDs. Pitt has lost both conference games this season by double figures.

  • Against the spread (ATS): Louisville -7.5 (-110) | Pitt +7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 44.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Louisville at Pitt picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 31, Pitt 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The Cardinals are the real deal, and they should win with ease on the road against a Pitt team that’s both struggled at home and against conference opponents. At -300 though, there’s no value on the favorite.

Against the spread

BET LOUISVILLE -7.5 (-110).

Louisville has been great on both sides of the ball. It sits 49th in the nation in opponents’ yards per play at 5.3. It has allowed 20 or fewer points in all but 2 games and has double-digit wins in 4 of 6 games. The Cardinals have only played 1 true road game (2 were at neutral sites) and pushed that in a 13-10  favorite at NC State. The Cardinals have topped 30 points in 4 of 6 games.

Pitt sits 73rd in opponents’ 3rd-down conversation rate, so it may struggle to keep the Cardinals’ offense off the field. The Panthers are 0-2-1 ATS at home and lost 41-24 in its last home game against the No. 12 UNC Tar Heels. Expect a similar game and for the Cards to dominate on the road. Take LOUISVILLE -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 44.5 (-110).

The Panthers are 4-1 O/U this season as they have allowed 25-plus points in 3 of 5 games and have allowed 38 or more in 2 straight games. Pitt has scored 20-plus points in 4 of 5 games as well, so it should be able to get on the board often.

The Cardinals have a strong offense and should be able to abuse the Panthers’ weak defense. Louisville is 2-3-1 O/U this season and has scored 102 points over its last 3 games.

Take OVER 44.5 (-110).

Notre Dame at Louisville odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Notre Dame at Louisville odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 25 Louisville Cardinals (5-0) welcome the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-1) to L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Notre Dame vs. Louisville odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Fighting Irish went to Duke, where College Gameday was, and beat the Blue Devils 21-14 in Week 5, covering as 4.5-point favorites. Notre Dame suffered its lone loss the week prior to the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, covering as a 3.5-point home underdog. The Fighting Irish are 5-1 against the spread (ATS).

The Cardinals are 2-2-1 ATS and beat the NC State Wolfpack 13-10 on the road in Week 5, pushing as 3-point favorites. Louisville is 2-0 ATS at home this season. It is led by QB Jack Plummer, who has 11 touchdowns and 1,406 passing yards on the season.

Notre Dame is No. 11 and Louisville is No. 25  in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Notre Dame at Louisville picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 30, Louisville 17

Moneyline

PASS.

Notre Dame has far more talent, and it went on the road and beat a then-top-25 side last weekend.

It is 2-0 straight up on the road and should make that 3-0, but at -250, there’s no value on betting a road favorite in college football.

Against the spread

BET NOTRE DAME -6.5 (-110).

For starters, the Fighting Irish are 5-1 ATS this season and 2-0 ATS on the road. That is impressive. They also have a more competent quarterback in former Wake standout QB Sam Hartman, who has 14 touchdowns and 0 interceptions on the season.

Louisville hasn’t played anyone notable yet. It beat NC State by 3 in its last game and took down Boston College 56-28 the week prior. Neither of those teams is at the level of Notre Dame, and the Fighting Irish should be able to overpower Louisville.

Take NOTRE DAME -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 53.5 (-110).

The Fighting Irish have scored 35 points over the last 2 weeks. Their offense hasn’t fared well against competitive teams, which Louisville, being a top-25 side, is. Notre Dame has gone Under in 2 straight games.

Louisville is 1-2 O/U over its last 3 games and has scored 21 or fewer points in 2 of those 3, allowing 14 or fewer in 2 of the 3 as well. Neither team is driving with consistency now, and that may not change.

Back UNDER 53.5 (-110).

Louisville at NC State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Louisville at NC State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Louisville Cardinals (4-0, 2-0 ACC) and the NC State Wolfpack (3-1, 1-0) meet Friday night at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C., in an ACC battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Louisville vs. NC State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Louisville remains unranked in both of the major Top 25 polls despite an unblemished record through 4 games. The Cardinals doubled up Boston College 56-28 at home last weekend, winning their 2nd conference tilt of the season. It is also 2-0 against the spread (ATS) at home, but 0-2 ATS on the road or in neutral-site games. The Over is 2-0 in ACC play so far.

NC State narrowly escaped at Virginia last Friday in its conference opener. While the Wolfpack is 3-1 straight up (SU), it has failed to cover in all 4 games. The Under is 3-1 in 4 outings despite the fact the Pack has posted 24 or more points in each of its games so far.

  • Over/Under (O/U): 55.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Louisville at NC State picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 31, NC State 24

Moneyline

LOUISVILLE (-176) is a little on the pricey side, especially for a road conference game, but the Cardinals offense has been on fire through 4 games.

The Cards have rolled up 542.0 total yards of offense, and 237.3 rushing yards per game, and both marks are good for 5th overall in the nation. Louisville is also racking up 43.0 PPG, good for 9th in the land.

QB Jack Plummer has taken the reins of the offense from the departed QB Malik Cunningham, and the Cards haven’t skipped a beat. In fact, they might be a little more potent that in past seasons. He is completing 67.0% of his passes for 1,120 yards, 10 TDs and 4 INTs, while RB Jawhar Jordan is more than capable when the team runs the ball. He has 478 yards and 6 TD, gobbling up 9.6 yards per attempt.

Against the spread

LOUISVILLE -3.5 (-105) will cost you a little extra juice, but it will be worth it.

The Cardinals have been money in conference play, rolling up 42.5 PPG in a pair of wins. NC State +3.5 (-115) won last week in its league opener, but a 3-point win at Virginia suggest this team has a lot of work to do. The Cards just don’t seem to have as many holes, and they’re potent on offense.

Over/Under

OVER 55.5 (-115) is the lean, based on Louisville’s prolific numbers. It has scored 39 or more points in 3 of its 4 games overall this season.

The thing that makes me concerned about an Over play is NC State, and its moribund offense. While it topped UVA last week, it managed just 319 total yards against a winless Hoos team, and NC State was actually outgained in the game by 65 yards. If not for a plus-1 turnover ratio, the Wolfpack could easily have lost. The offense, led by QB Brennan Armstrong, just isn’t hitting on all cylinders, so be careful with the Over play.

Louisville at Georgia Tech odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Louisville at Georgia Tech odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets welcome the Louisville Cardinals to Mercedes-Benz Stadium Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Louisville vs. Georgia Tech odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Yellow Jackets went 5-7 overall last season and 4-4 in conference play, but that marked an improvement on 3 consecutive seasons with 3 wins. Georgia Tech enters 2023 the interim title removed from head coach Brent Key who took over midseason for Geoff Collins last year. QB Zach Pyron is expected to start under center; the freshman played in 3 games last season, throwing 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

The Cardinals ended last season with an 8-5 record and went 4-4 in conference play. Former head coach Scott Satterfield left in the offseason for Cincinnati after 4 years with the program and is replaced by Jeff Brohm who joins off 6 years with Purdue.

A familiar face for Brohm will be under center to start the year as senior transfer QB Jack Plummer will lead the way. Plummer spent 3 years at Purdue before transferring to California. He started for California in 2022 and threw 21 touchdowns with 9 interceptions in 12 games. Five transfers will start on the offensive for a revamped Cardinals roster.

Louisville at Georgia Tech picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 28, Georgia Tech 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The value to back the Cardinals (-300) just isn’t there as you would need to risk 3 times your potential return. However, the Yellow Jackets (+240) and Pyron are more inexperienced and likely won’t pull off the upset.

Against the spread

BET LOUISVILLE -7.5 (-110).

The difference is the quarterbacks and experience. Louisville added a quarterback with 3 years of experience in the Big Ten and also experience as a starter while bringing in 4 other transfer starters on its offense. That’s an impressive haul of new weapons.

Pyron wasn’t as impressive during his few appearances last season. Georgia Tech was just 6-6 ATS last season while Louisville was 8-5 ATS. The Cardinals have an improved roster and should dominate this game.

Back LOUISVILLE -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 49.5 (-110).

Georgia Tech and Louisville both have new coaches and quarterbacks who will be starting in their programs consistently for the first time. That could result in sloppy offense.

Last season, the Yellow Jackets went 4-7-1 O/U while Louisville was 4-9 O/U.

Louisville at Kentucky odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Louisville at Kentucky odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Louisville Cardinals (2-11) battle the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats (8-4) at Rupp Arena Saturday. Tip is set for noon ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Louisville vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Wildcats lost 89-75 to the Missouri Tigers as 3-point road favorites Wednesday. Kentucky has failed to cover 6 games in a row with 3 of those coming as double-digit favorites. The Cats’ strength is shooting from deep — they rank 14th nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (39.5%).

The Cardinals lost 76-64 to NC State on Dec. 22, covering as 18-point road underdogs. Louisville is just 2-11 against the spread (ATS). However, it’s covered 2 of their last 4 games as books have started to realize how bad this team is. The Cardinals rank 347th in field goal percentage (40.1%) and 329th in opponents’ field goal percentage (46.4%).

  • Against the spread (ATS): Louisville +23.5 (-110) | Kentucky -23.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 137.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Louisville at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 76, Louisville 58

Moneyline

PASS.

Louisville is 2-11 this season and 0-2 in true road games. I expect the Cardinals to cover in this rivalry game, but I don’t think they will win outright. Kentucky (-5000) is certainly a pass as it is 1-2 straight up over its last 3 and you’d need to risk 50 times your potential return to bet it.

Against the spread

BET LOUISVILLE +23.5 (-110).

The Wildcats are 0-6 ATS over their last 6 and are just 4-8 ATS on the season. Kentucky is 0-3 ATS in its last 3 games it was favored by 15 or more points. Sharpshooter G CJ Fredrick is expected to be out with a dislocated finger which could hurt the Cats’ offense as well.

Louisville is 2-2 ATS over its last 4 after failing to cover its first 9 games. This rivalry should be different, and the energy from the Cards should help them keep this game within 23.5.

The last 3 meetings between these sides were all decided by 13 or fewer points. Back LOUISVILLE +23.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 137.5 (-110).

The Cards’ offense just is not good, and that will be a problem here. They are 2-10-1 O/U, and their efficiency on the offensive end where they are averaging just 61.4 points per game will be exposed by the presence of lengthy Kentucky defenders like F Jacob Toppin. The Cards have scored 62 or fewer points in 6 of their last 9 games.

The Cats are just 6-6 O/U and will likely be without a key shooter. They average 78.4 points per game but have topped 75 in just 1 of their last 6 outings.

Back the UNDER 137.5 (-110).

Fenway Bowl: Cincinnati vs. Louisville odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Cincinnati vs. Louisville odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bearcats (9-3) take on the Louisville Cardinals (7-5) in the Fenway Bowl on Saturday. Kickoff from Fenway Park in Boston is set for 11 a.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Cincinnati vs. Louisville odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bearcats lost to Tulane 27-24 in their final game of the season, failing to cover as 2-point favorites. The loss ended a 3-game winning streak for Cincinnati, which finished 3rd in the AAC and ended the season 3-8-1 against the spread (ATS) and failing to cover in 6 of their last 7 games. Since their final game, the Bearcats lost coach Luke Fickell, who accepted the top job at Wisconsin. Expect his absence to be felt throughout the team.

The Cardinals fell 26-13 to the Kentucky Wildcats in their season finale, failing to cover as 2.5-point underdogs. They finished 4th in the ACC with a 4-4 conference record and 7-5 ATS on the season. They covered 5 of their last 7 games. Louisville’s strength is its defense, ranking 19th in the country in points against (20.2).

Cincinnati vs. Louisville picks and predictions

Prediction

Cincinnati 17, Louisville 14

Moneyline

BET CINCINNATI (+105).

Louisville will be without QB Malik Cunningham, who made the decision to go pro instead of playing in the game.

Although UC is without QB Ben Bryant (injury), expect former Louisville  coach and new Cincinnati coach Scott Satterfield to start his tenure on a high note.

He will look to scheme against his former team that will certainly be looking for revenge. Evan Prater is the more capable QB and should be able to help his side come out on top.

Against the spread

LEAN CINCINNATI +2 (-111).

Cincinnati’s total defense ranks 23rd in the country, giving up 328.5 yards of offense per game.

They will look to torment season-long backup QB Brock Dormann and force the Cardinals to run the ball. That combined with Cincinnati’s 46th-ranked scoring offense (31.1 ppg) is a recipe for Bearcats’ success.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 40 (-111).

These are 2 high-powered defenses which will certainly keep the game low scoring and means this a game that will be won in the trenches.

The weather in Boston on Saturday is predicted to be a high of 41 degrees with a chance of snow that will affect each offense’s ability to pass.

Betting trends point towards the under as well.

In Louisville’s last 4 games overall, the Under is 4-0, in its last 4 non-conference games, the Under is 4-0 and in their last 4 games against teams with winning records, the Under is 4-0.

Maryland at Louisville odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Maryland at Louisville odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 22 Maryland Terrapins (6-0) visit the Louisville Cardinals (0-6) as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge Tuesday. The opening tip at the KFC Yum! Center will be at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Maryland vs. Louisville odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Maryland has been a solid shooting team — especially in the 2-point game — and has been banging the boards and frequently getting to the charity stripe. The Terrapins last played Friday, defeating Coppin State, but failing to cover a 23.5-point spread in a 95-79 triumph. MU had previously been 5-0 against the number.

The Cardinals are off to their worst start in 82 years. Not since an 0-11 start in 1940-41 has Louisville scuffled like this at the beginning of a season. The Cards have shot just 39.5% from the field while committing an untenable 17.5 turnovers per contest. UL is 0-6 ATS.

Maryland at Louisville picks and predictions

Prediction

Maryland 75, Louisville 60

Moneyline

Not available.

Against the spread

This match-up features 1 of the more experienced teams in Div. I against 1 of the youngest. And the youthful, turnover-prone Cardinals — off a return from extensive travel — are in for more misery.

Think this UL stuff is just a November, 2022 issue? Louisville is 6-21-1 ATS in its last 28 games overall.

The veteran Terps will defend the perimeter well, cutting off any lifeline UL has for a single-digit loss. Louisville may have the nickname, but Maryland holds all the cards here.

TAKE THE TERRAPINS -12.5 (-105).

Over/Under

Too much Louisville-falls-off-a-cliff angle to this 1. PASS.

NC State at Louisville odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s NC State at Louisville odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 25 NC State Wolfpack (7-3, 3-3 ACC) meet the Louisville Cardinals (6-4, 3-4) Saturday at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN3). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the NC State vs. Louisville odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Wolfpack, who are still ranked in the coaches poll, fell out of the College Football Playoff rankings. NC State will be fighting mad after losing 21-20 last week at Carter-Finley Stadium against a bad Boston College team last Saturday. The Pack slipped to just 1-6 ATS across the past 7 games overall.

The Cardinals were dropped 31-16 at Clemson last Saturday, snapping a 4-game win and cover streak. The Under has cashed in 3 of their past 4 games, and they’ve allowed 17 or fewer points in 3 of the past 5 outings.

NC State at Louisville picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 25, NC State 22

Moneyline

LOUISVILLE (-180) is a little on the pricey side straight up, but it’s not a terrible play if you want action on this game and don’t want to fiddle around with the points in what should be a very, very close result.

However, this play advice comes with caution. QB Malik Cunningham is nursing a shoulder injury, and he is questionable to play. If Cunningham is ruled out, flip to NC State (+150) straight up.

Against the spread

NC STATE +3.5 (-108) is the side to take with the points, as long as this remains at three and a hook.

Playing the Wolfpack should come with a warning label, however, as it’s like playing with fire. NC State is just 1-6 ATS across the past 7 games overall while going just 8-20-1 ATS in the past 29 road games over the past few seasons.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 44 (-107) with a warning.

The Over has cashed in 2 of the past 3 games for NC State, and the Wolfpack have allowed 21 or more points in each of the past 4 outings.

There is some concern here, again, as Cunningham’s absence would change things. Backup QB Brock Domann isn’t nearly the same kind of offensive threat.
