ESPN College GameDay makes their Week 9 picks

Who do you have winning the biggest games of the weekend?

Although [autotag]ESPN College GameDay[/autotag] did not pick a winner between [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] and [autotag]Pittsburgh[/autotag], they still made many other picks for Week 9’s action.

The crew was missing [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag], but [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag] and [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag] along with guest picker [autotag]Steve Smith[/autotag], the former Utah and NFL star receiver was on hand in Salt Lake City, Utah to participate in the festivities. As always, GameDay was a fairly enjoyable watch, even if half of it was in the dark.

The four of them picked winners for the biggest games of the weekend, so find out below which teams they believe will come out victorious during today’s action.

David Pollack: Texas is ‘gonna get smoked’ against Alabama

David Pollack is not buying the Longhorns chances.

David Pollack is not buying the Longhorns chances. The former Georgia standout had the following to say about the matchup on ESPN’s College Gameday.

Listen, Texas loves barbecue. They love their brisket. They’re gonna get smoked today. Absolutely smoked. Alabama is the best team in the country for a reason. Texas, just try to hold on, try to stay healthy. Have a fun rest of the year, but you ain’t winning today.

If ever there was a big game where analysts could safely make bold predictions, this might be the one. Texas is a heavy double-digit home underdog against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.

There aren’t many matchups the Longhorns can exploit, if any. As Paul Wadlington of Inside Texas noted, Texas would need to attack the Alabama scheme to have success against the Tide.

The experts are predicting a rout. Texas will have to prove itself to win the game.

College GameDay picks Auburn vs Penn State

Do you agree with the experts?

Gameday has finally arrived.

Auburn will take on Penn State tonight at 6:30pm CT in Penn State’s annual white out game. The Nittany Lions are 8-8 all time in their white out games.

Lee Corso of College Gameday brought up during today’s broadcast that. Penn State has lost their last five games to SEC opponents. Auburn is no slouch, and according to Corso, the Tigers have a legitimate shot in this game.

College Gameday went through their picks for the marquee matchup between no. 22 Auburn and no. 10 Penn State. Let’s take a look at what the crew thinks about this game.

It’s game day in Iowa City as the Wisconsin Badgers get set to battle the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes in the final game of their regular season.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Paul Chryst’s team, with two straight blowout victories to start the season, three games being canceled due to COVID-19 protocols and two straight hard-fought losses against Northwestern and Indiana.

The season as a whole has been a challenge for everybody involved, but the team now gets a shot at defeating rival Iowa, facing Indiana during Big Ten Champions Week and entering Bowl Season with a 4-2 record.

Although ESPN College Gameday was on-site for the Army vs. Navy in West Point, New York, the Badgers’ matchup with the Hawkeyes as well as the Big Ten’s decision to waive the six-game requirement were significant topics.

It’s gameday in Madison, Wisconsin with the No. 18 Wisconsin Badgers getting set to face No. 10 Indiana as they look to build upon their 10-game win streak against the Hoosiers and improve to 3-1 on the season.

I highlighted this game during the offseason as a scary one for Paul Chryst and his team. That, obviously, was before Indiana jumped out to a 5-1 record, before the Badgers saw three of their first six games canceled due to COVID-19 and before Hoosier star quarterback Michael Penix Jr. tore his ACL.

Although ESPN College Gameday was at Coastal Carolina for their game against BYU, Wisconsin vs. Indiana and the current Big Ten landscape was still a highly-talked-about topic on the show.

Here is who the hosts picked to come away with a victory:

Kirk Herbstreit: Wisconsin

Lee Corso: Wisconsin

Desmond Howard: Wisconsin

David Pollack: Indiana

Masters winner Dustin Johnson: Wisconsin

The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST and be available on ABC and the ESPN app.

Tonight’s matchup between the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers and the 1-2 Michigan Wolverines is college football’s premier contest of the weekend. During a normal year, the game would host ESPN College Gameday and we would see a Lee Corso headgear pick. Gameday is at the Masters today, however, and no football-related headgear was put on.

They did still pick the game, though, and here is who the crew picked to win:

Desmond Howard: Wisconsin

Lee Corso: Wisconsin

Jack Nicklaus: Wisconsin

No big surprises here, as the Badgers are favored to win the game. Desmond is a Michigan alumn, though, and rarely picks against his Wolverines.

Michigan and Wisconsin will kick off at 6:30 p.m. central in front of an empty Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

We won’t know until then who will take the field at quarterback for the Badgers, who the team is missing and how Chryst’s squad looks after three idle weeks.
