Michigan State will end the season in the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Spartans moved up one spot in Sunday’s final batch of the College Football Playoff rankings to No. 10. Michigan State is the third highest-ranked Big Ten team behind only Ohio State (No. 6) and Michigan (No. 2).

Michigan State will play Pitt — who’s No. 12 in the final rankings — in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 30.

Oregon Ducks drop to No. 14 in final College Football Playoff rankings

In the final rankings of the season, the Oregon Ducks dropped to No. 14 after another blowout loss to Utah.

The final College Football Playoff rankings for the season came out on Sunday afternoon, and the Oregon Ducks dropped a total of 4 spots to No. 14.

After another blowout loss to the Utah Utes in the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday, this comes as no surprise, with the Ducks not showing much reason for being considered one of the top 10 teams in the nation.

Utah moved up to No. 11 in the rankings.

What’s left to figure out now is which bowl game the Ducks will go to at the end of the year. All signs point towards them being featured in the Valero Alamo Bowl, where they will likely face the No. 16 Oklahoma Sooners.

The Alamo Bowl is usually reserved for the second-ranked Pac-12 team vs. the second-ranked Big-12 team.

That game will be played on December 29th in San Antonio, Texas.

Alabama finishes at No. 1 in final College Football Playoff rankings

The College Football Playoffs are set!

We’ve made it. The end of another college football season. A relatively straightforward weekend of conference championship games cleared up the playoff picture, cementing Big Ten champ Michigan, SEC champ Alabama, AAC champ Cincinnati, and a Georgia team that dominated the regular season as the final four. But what order?

Alabama jumped to No. 1 with the win over the Dawgs, and Michigan held steady at No. 2, meaning they’ll play a Georgia team that slipped to No. 3. Cincinnati hung in for the No. 4 and final spot as the only undefeated team in the field.

Alabama and Cincinnati will square off in the Cotton Bowl, while Michigan and Georgia will head to Miami for the Orange Bowl. Both games are on December 31.

By getting the nod, Cincinnati becomes the first ever Group of 5 team to make the College Football Playoffs.

Notre Dame finished just outside looking in at No. 5, as did Ohio State at No. 6, leapfrogging Oklahoma State after the Cowboys fell literal inches short against Big 12 champ Baylor.

The full rankings will be updated when available.

Ohio State finishes No. 6 in College Football Playoff Rankings

Do you agree with where Ohio State landed in the final release of the CFP Rankings? #GoBucks

Ohio State football finished the season just outside the top four of the College Football Playoff Rankings at No. 6. This year was a bit different though in the fact that there wasn’t a lot of drama as in years past when there was a chance for the Buckeyes to vault into the top four.

Ahead of Ohio State was largely what we believed it would be with Alabama reclaiming No. 1, followed by Michigan (2), Georgia (3), Cincinnati (4), and Notre Dame (5). That means the Wolverines and Bearcats get into the College Football Playoff for the first time and the Irish join the Buckeyes in just missing out.

This of course means Ohio State will wait for its postseason fate later in the day, but you can almost lock it in that the Buckeyes will be headed to Pasadena to play in the Rose Bowl opposite of the Pac-12 champ Utah.

With the ranking reveal, Ohio State continues the trend of never finishing worse than No. 7 in the final rankings reveal prior to the College Football Playoff matchups.

Predicting the top ten of the final release of the College Football Playoff Rankings

One last look at what the top ten of the final release of the CFP Rankings will be.

All the dust has finally settled on the 2021 regular-season and conference championship games, and that means we are on the doorstep of the final College Football Rankings that will determine the four teams that will play for it all.

Those rankings are coming out Saturday, but we’re projecting the top ten based on what’s happened through the season and the championship games this past weekend.

For all the hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing, we feel pretty good about the four teams that are going to get it. That means the process and procedures dodged a big, controversial bullet once again, despite it not looking that way heading into the weekend. That will likely do little to accelerate the calls for an expanded playoff.

But that’s for another day. Here is our prediction of the top ten in the final College Football Playoff Rankings.

The College Football Playoff rankings come out Sunday with the final top 25. We give our best guess and prediction on what it’ll be.

Everything the CFP committee said about the fifth release of the CFP rankings

Here is everything the CFP committee said about why it ranked teams where it did in the latest CFP Rankings.

The latest College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night, and we’re now less than a week away from knowing which teams will take part in the final four teams to be a part of college football history. Ohio State dropped to No. 7, and it would take some pretty extraordinary things to get the Buckeyes back in the conversation for a spot in all the fun.

Things changed drastically among the teams contending after a drama-filled Rivalry Week and the CFP committee had to do its best to sort it all out. It’s a challenge for sure, but at least CFP Selection Committee Chair Gary Barta makes himself available to face the music and firing squad from the media that questions the way teams are rated.

Barta did the same on Tuesday evening and we like to bring it all to you. Here are all the questions and comments the CFP committee had for everyone through the mouthpiece of Barta.

College Football Playoff 2022: Updated odds after fifth rankings

Let’s take a look at how the odds look for the top six teams in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings.

With conference title games on the horizon, the College Football Playoff scenarios are dwindling. Rivalry week, and the coaching carousel nonsense that followed, lived up to the hype. Some teams (looking at you, Michigan) took care of business, while others (hello, Oklahoma) ended their playoff hopes with a loss.

As expected, Georgia still has the best odds of the bunch, but a couple teams have greatly improved in the eyes of the oddsmakers.

We will see some big matchups this coming weekend that will continue to shape the playoffs. All four teams currently in the playoffs will face another ranked team in their conference title games, so expect to see more changes before the final rankings.

Let’s take a look at where each team stands now. All odds courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook.
