The Cleveland Cavaliers (43-26) visit the Minnesota Timberwolves (47-22) on Friday night. Tip from Target Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Timberwolves odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 1-0 after 113-104 OT win at home on March 8

The Cavaliers lost 107-104 to the Miami Heat on Wednesday while failing to cover as 3-point home favorites. C Jarrett Allen had a double-double with a team-high 25 points and 20 rebounds while G Caris LeVert also had a double-double (16 points, 12 assists). Cleveland shot 46.7% from the field in the loss.

The Timberwolves had a 3-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with a 115-112 loss against the Denver Nuggets while covering as 7.5-point home underdogs. G Anthony Edwards scored a team-high 30 points as 5 T-wolves players scored in double figures. Minnesota shot 47.7% from the field.

Cavaliers at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 109, Cavaliers 104

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Minnesota (-300), who is 23-9 at home this season to beat Cleveland (+240) who has lost 4 of its last 6 overall.

Against the spread

BET CAVALIERS +7.5 (-115).

While Cleveland is dealing with an array of injuries, it has showed that other players are able to step up as demonstrated by Allen’s 20-20 game on Wednesday. Cleveland is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games as an underdog, including 3-0 ATS in its last 3, while Minnesota is 2-3 ATS in its last 5 games as a favorite and 1-3 ATS in its last 4 home games.

Over/Under

BET OVER 207.5 (-105).

While both teams are dealing with injuries, 207.5 is too low of a total to bet the Under. The Cavs have hit the Over in 4 of their last 6 including 2 of their last 3 while the T-wolves have hit the Over in 4 of their last 6 as well.

Cleveland has scored at least 103 points in 7 of its last 9 games while allowing 104 or more in 8 of its last 10. Minnesota has scored 109 or more points in each of its last 5 games and in 8 of its last 10 while allowing 104 or more in 7 of its last 10.

Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Miami Heat (37-31) wrap up a 4-game road trip on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers (43-25). Tip-off at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Heat vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1; Road team has won and covered each of the 1st 2 meetings, with the Cavaliers winning 111-99 in Miami in the most recent matchup Dec. 8 as a 1.5-point favorite as the Under (223.5) cashed

The Heat have won 2 of the 1st 3 games on the road trips, but it is just 1-2 against the spread (ATS), while going only 2-7 ATS in the past 9 games in  March. The Under has cashed in 7 in a row for Miami, while going 18-4 across the past 22 contests.

The Cavaliers topped the Indiana Pacers on the road 108-103 as a 7-point underdog on Monday. The Cavs have cashed in 3 of the past 4 outings, while the Under and Over have alternated in the past 4 contests.

While the win in Indiana was good news, Cleveland received more bad news. Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell suffered a broken nose in Saturday’s game in Houston. He took friendly fire from Tristan Thompson as the players were jockeying for a rebound. Mitchell had a procedure to realign the area, and he’ll be out until at least late March or early April, as he won’t even be re-evaluated for 1 week.

Heat at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Heat 102, Cavaliers 96

Moneyline

The HEAT (+108) are a strong play on the road as short ‘dogs, but be careful.

If Butler is cleared to play, go a little more aggressively. If Jimmy Buckets sits, still play Miami, but go a little lighter.

Remember, the road team has won both meetings so far this season, and whatever happens with Butler’s status, the Cavs are without their leading scorer and 2 other starters.

Against the spread

If you like the HEAT +2 (-110), they’re a better play on the moneyline, unless you totally believe the Cavaliers -2 (-110) are going to win, but only by 1 or 2 points.

If you like Miami, it’s a much better value on the moneyline.

Over/Under

UNDER 201.5 (-110) is a low number, but it’s a strong play.

Again, watch the status for Butler. If he is unable to go, then playing the Under a little more aggressively is a sound betting strategy. Either way, the Cavs will be without Mitchell, who leads the team with 27.4 PPG. The Under has been on fire for Miami lately, and the Under is 5-0 in the past 5 games the Cavs have played without Spida on the floor.

Season series: Pacers lead 2-0

Cleveland fell 117-103 against the Houston Rockets Saturday while failing to cover as a 5-point road favorite. Cavaliers at Pacers picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 117, Cavaliers 108

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Pacers (-275) to beat an injury-riddled Cavs team that has lost 3 of its last 4.

Against the spread

BET PACERS -6.5 (-115).

Cleveland has failed to cover in 2 of its last 3 road games and is without its leading scorer in Mitchell, amongst other key players.

It faces a Pacers team that is 3-1 ATS in its last 4 and 4-2 ATS in its last 6. The Pacers are 36-29-3 ATS on the season, while the Cavs are 33-34 ATS. Look for G Tyrese Haliburton to stimulate the offense and take advantage of the beaten-up Cavs.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 225.5 (-105).

As it stands, this is the highest total in the Cavs’ last 10 games. They have scored 111 or fewer in 7 of their last 9 and allowed 112 or fewer in 6 of their last 9.

The Pacers have hit the Under in 7 of their last 10 overall and have held opponents to 113 or fewer in 4 of their last 5. Against a Cavs team that is struggling due to injury, expect Indiana to continue that trend Monday.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Houston Rockets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Cleveland Cavaliers at Houston Rockets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Cleveland Cavaliers (42-24) make the 2nd stop of a 3-game road trip against the Houston Rockets (31-35) Saturday at Toyota Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Rockets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 1-0; Cleveland won 135-130 in overtime, covering a 4-point spread, as the Over (215) cashed Dec. 18 in the first meeting

The Cavaliers welcomed leading-scorer G Donovan Mitchell (knee) back to the lineup Wednesday in New Orleans after a 7-game absence. It made a giant difference, as Cleveland won 116-95, its most points since Feb. 28, which was the last full game Mitchell played.

The Rockets have won 4 consecutive games, including a 135-119 win over the Washington Wizards Thursday. Houston has covered 7 of the past 8 games, while the Over has a slight 3-2 advantage in the previous 5 outings.

Cleveland has won 3 in a row, and 6 of the past 7, in this series. The Cavs are also 3-0 ATS in the win streak, and 6-1 ATS across the past 7 meetings. The Under has a 6-2 advantage in the past 8 battles.

Cavaliers at Rockets picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 111, Rockets 107

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-186) have come down from -220 overnight, but they’re a little too expensive considering they’re still down 2 starters. Yes, Spida was able to return in NOLA, and the Cavs looked good, but missing Mobley and Strus is still a big deal. Mitchell can’t do it all himself.

However, the recent injury to Sengun is a big deal to the Rockets (+156), as he was really coming into his own and becoming a star.

PASS.

Against the spread

The ROCKETS +4.5 (-108) are still worth a look as underdogs at home.

Houston has covered 7 of the past 8 games, and it is 7-0 ATS in the past 7 home games against Eastern Conference opponents.

While the Cavaliers -4.5 (-112) won handily against a good New Orleans team last time out, they’re still 5-10 ATS in the past 15 games dating back to Feb. 12.

Over/Under

OVER 214.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Over has cashed in 3 of the past 4 games for the Cavaliers, but the total went low in New Orleans to kick off the road trip, so be careful.

The Over has a slight 3-2 edge in the past 5 games for the Rockets, too, while the Over is 10-7-1 in the past 18 outings at Toyota Center.

Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Phoenix Suns (37-27) open a 4-game Eastern Conference road trip on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers (41-23) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Suns vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Cavaliers swept the 2 meetings in 2022-23, splitting against the spread (ATS) while the Under cashed in each outing

The Suns lost 117-107 against the Boston Celtics on Saturday, failing to cover as 5.5-point home underdogs. Phoenix has won just 4 times in the past 9 games, while going 1-5 ATS in the past 6 games, and 2-7 ATS in the previous 9 contests. The Under is on a 10-0 run since Feb. 14.

The Cavaliers were humbled 120-101 by the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, losing outright as a 6.5-point favorite as the Over (209) cashed. The Cavs offense has struggled lately, going for 105 or fewer points in 4 of the previous 5 outings.

Cavs leading scorer Donovan Mitchell (knee) has missed the past 6 games due to a knee injury. The team is just 3-3 SU/ATS, while averaging just 104.7 points per game (PPG), which is well below the team’s season average of 113.8 PPG.

Celtics at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 115, Cavaliers 106

Moneyline

The Suns (-225) are too costly, as you would need to risk more than 2 times your potential return. As a straight up wager, that’s simply not enough value. However, if you were to toss Phoenix into a multi-team parlay, that isn’t nearly as bad.

PASS as a standalone wager.

Against the spread

The SUNS -5.5 (-110) are worth a look laying the points. The Cavaliers +5.5 (-110) have been a shell of themselves without Mitchell in the lineup, and really, they’re down 3 starters with Mobley and Strus also sidelined.

Cleveland is just 3-10 ATS in the past 13 games, as it has been struggling against the number even prior to all of the injuries.

Over/Under

UNDER 222.5 (-115) is a strong play in this battle in C-Town.

The Cavaliers have cashed the Under in 4 of the past 6 games, although the Over is 7-3 across the past 10 outings at home. The total has gone high in Cleveland’s past 3 tries against Western Conference teams.

The Suns have been on a serious Under roll, cashing in 10 consecutive contests. The Under is 9-3 in the past 12 road games, while going 7-2 in the past 9 outings against Eastern Conference squads.

Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

The Brooklyn Nets (25-39) and Cleveland Cavaliers (41-22) meet Sunday. Tip-off from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 3-0

The Nets, who were 6-point favorites, failed to cover for a 3rd straight road game with a 110-99 loss against the Charlotte Hornets Saturday as the Over (207.5) hit. Brooklyn is a league-worst 10-19 against the spread (ATS) in away games, according to Teamrankings.com.

The Cavaliers are coming off a cover as 1-point favorites in a 113-104 OT win vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday with the Over (206.5) cashing in Cleveland. They’ve alternated ATS wins and losses over the last 6 games.

Cleveland is 2-1 ATS vs. the Nets this season, and the Under has gone 2-1. The Cavaliers covered as 7.5-point favorites with a 118-95 victory at Brooklyn in the most recent meeting Feb. 8 as the Under (224) hit.

Nets at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 106, Nets 105

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-300) are slightly overpriced for a team that has struggled to string together good performances lately. However, I have no interest in taking the Nets to pull off the upset on the road.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

Cleveland has not covered in back-to-back outings since Feb. 8-10 and is 3-9 ATS since that short 2-game ATS win streak. The shorthanded Cavaliers struggle to string together good performances without their leading scorer in Mitchell (28 points per game) and may come out flat after an impressive OT win.

While the Nets have been the worst road bet ATS this season, this is actually the time to start taking them. The market is overreacting to recent losses at Charlotte and the Detroit Pistons and has created the opportunity for us to get some value on Brooklyn.

BET NETS +7.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in the last 4 Nets games, and this number is a bit too low at the moment. I understand that both of these teams are bottom 10 in offensive efficiency over the last 3 games, but Brooklyn’s offense should bounce back after scoring just 99 points against the 28th-ranked team in defensive efficiency in the Hornets.

BET OVER 207.5 (-110).

The Cleveland Cavaliers (40-22) welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves (44-19) to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Friday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Timberwolves vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Minnesota won both meetings last season

The Timberwolves beat the Indiana Pacers 113-111 on the road Thursday, covering as a 1-point underdog. They have won 2 straight and 5 of their last 8, but are just 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in that span, and 32-31 ATS on the season. G Anthony Edwards is averaging 26.4 points per game (PPG).

The Cavaliers lost to the Atlanta Hawks 112-101 Wednesday, failing to cover as a 3-point road underdog. Cleveland has traded off winning and losing over its last 6 and is 2-4 ATS in that span. It is 30-32 ATS on the season. The Cavaliers will be without leading scorer G Donovan Mitchell (28 PPG), but have 5 other players averaging 14 points or better.

Timberwolves at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 109, Cavaliers 104

Moneyline

BET TIMBERWOLVES (-108).

Minnesota has won 2 straight games and has won 5 straight on the road, including wins over the LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.

The T-wolves are the best road team in the NBA, posting a 21-11 straight-up record. While Minnesota is without Towns, the Cavaliers are missing several key players, making Edwards the best player, by far, on the court. That should give Minnesota as edge.

Also, the Cavaliers have lost 3 of their last 5, and those losses have come to a short-handed New York Knicks team, the Hawks and the Chicago Bulls. Expect the Cavaliers to struggle against a team as deep as the T-wolves.

Take TIMBERWOLVES (-108).

Against the spread

PASS.

The better value on the T-wolves is on the moneyline, not spread, so look there for the play.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 209 (-110).

The Cavaliers have gone Under in 4 straight games, but they would have hit or gone Over this total in 5 of their last 6. They are 2-4 O/U in those 6, scoring at least 105 points in 4 of them.

The T-wolves are 3-2 O/U in their last 5 games and have scored at least 110 points in 4 of their last 5. They are 6-0 O/U in their last 6 games with a total of 218 or lower. That said, back OVER 209 (-110).

The Cleveland Cavaliers (40-21) travel to meet the Atlanta Hawks (27-34) Wednesday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 3-0; Cleveland won the most recent meeting 116-95 in Atlanta on Jan. 20, covering as a 2-point favorite as the Under (231.5) cashed.

The Cavaliers won an emotional 105-104 game Tuesday night against the No. 1 seed in the East, the Boston Celtics. Cleveland was playing without leading scorer G Donovan Mitchell, who will also miss this game, due to a sore left knee which required a platelet-rich plasma injection.

Cleveland has won and covered 2 of the past 3 games while cashing the Under in all 3 games without Mitchell. G Max Strus (knee) also missed Tuesday’s game, and C Evan Mobley (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter. The center was reportedly on crutches after the game, so his status for Atlanta in doubt.

The Hawks have won and covered 3 of the past 5 games, while going a respectable 7-3 straight up (SU) in the past 10 at home, including a 6-3 against the spread (ATS) run in the past 9 at State Farm Arena.

Cavaliers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 109, Hawks 106

Moneyline

The CAVALIERS (+114) are a risky play on the road, but worth a look. They were extremely risky in Cleveland Tuesday night, and beat the best team in the NBA down starters Mitchell and Strus. They also lost a 3rd started midway through the 3rd quarter with Mobley exiting. Still, Cleveland managed to overcome, showing its depth. Dean Wade came off the bench for 23 points and 8 boards in 21 minutes, hitting 6 triples in the process.

Cleveland has beaten the Hawks (-134) in all 3 meetings this season, and it is coming in with a lot of confidence after overcoming the Celtics.

Against the spread

The CAVALIERS +2.5 (-112) are the play if you’re a little more on the conservative side, or you feel the Hawks -2.5 (-108) are going to win by just 1 or 2 points.

Cleveland has covered 4 in a row in this series, and 5 of the past 6 meetings. But if you like the Cavs, they’re a better value on the moneyline.

Over/Under

UNDER 216 (-108) is the play with Mitchell, and his team-best 28.0 PPG on the shelf. In Cleveland’s big win against Boston, the Under cashed rather easily. The total has gone low in all 3 games for the Cavs without Spida in the lineup.

The Hawks hit the Over in the win at MSG against the Knicks on Tuesday, but the Under is 5-2 in the past 7 outings. Both of these teams played Tuesday night, and then hopped a plane for the ATL. We could see some tired legs, especially in the 1st half.

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Boston Celtics (48-12) open a 5-game road trip on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers (39-21) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Celtics vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Celtics lead 2-0; Boston has won both games played at TD Garden, with the teams going 1-1 against the spread (ATS) and the Over-Under

The Celtics hammered the visiting Golden State Warriors 140-88 on Sunday, coasting to a cover as an 8-point favorite as the Under (230) barely hung on. Boston has won 11 in a row, with each of the past 6 victories coming by 14 or more points. In fact, the average margin of victory in the team’s 11-game winning streak is 22.1 points per game (PPG), including 2 wins by 50+ points.

The Cavaliers are coming off a 107-98 loss against the New York Knicks at home on Sunday. Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell (knee) missed that game, and he has sat for the previous 2 outings due to a sore left knee. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection Monday for a bone bruise, and he’ll miss at least 3 more games.

Cleveland has struggled lately, going just 4-5 straight up (SU) and 1-8 ATS in the past 9 outings, while cashing the Under in 4 of the past 6 contests. The Cavs have slipped a full game behind the Milwaukee Bucks in the Central Division, and for the No. 2 seed in the East behind the Celtics.

Celtics at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 115, Cavaliers 100

Moneyline

The Celtics (-320) will cost you more than 3 times your potential return, and that’s quite expensive for not enough reward. Risking $100 will net a profit of just $30.20, and there is no value in that. Even as part of a multi-team parlay, including Boston sucks all of the value out of your ticket.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The CELTICS -7.5 (-110) are worth a look, but it comes with a caution label. The Cavaliers +7.5 (-110) cannot be trusted because Mitchell, their leading scorer, is sidelined, as is Strus. However, the level of which you play the Celts hinges on the health of Brown.

If Brown is able to go, this is a slam-dunk play, and you should go rather aggressively, as well as Boston has been playing. If he cannot go, the Celtics are less attractive, but still worth playing lightly.

Over/Under

UNDER 218.5 (-110) is worth a look in this battle in C-Town, especially since the Cavs will be missing Mitchell, who leads the team with 28.0 PPG, nearly 10 points more than the next leading scorer, Darius Garland (18.4 PPG).

Like the spread, however, the level of your play depends upon the status for Brown. He averages 22.5 PPG, so if he is absent for Boston, go a little more aggressively on the Under. If he is able to play, it is still worth going low on the total, but proceed a little more cautiously.

New York Knicks at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Knicks at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Knicks (35-25) and Cleveland Cavaliers (39-20) meet at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Sunday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Knicks vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Knicks have failed to cover in 4 straight games. They’re coming off a 110-99 loss vs. the Golden State Warriors Thursday as the Under (223) hit. G Jalen Brunson had a team-high 27 points for New York, which failed to cover as a 3.5-point home underdog.

The Cavaliers covered as 7-point favorites with a 110-100 win over the Detroit Pistons Friday with the Under (219) cashing at Little Caesars Arena. The cover snapped a 7-game against-the-spread (ATS) skid for the Cavaliers, who have won 3 of their last 4 games straight up (SU).

Each team has covered once in 2 meetings this season, and the Under is 2-0. The road team has covered in both games, and the Cavaliers won SU as 5.5-point underdogs with a 95-89 upset in the most recent meeting Nov. 1.

Knicks at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 105, Knicks 104

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-250) should win at home, but I can’t recommend risking $250 to win $100 on a team that is 4-4 SU in its last 8 games, all as favorites.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

It’s tough to trust either of these teams to cover a spread right now. The Knicks are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games and the Cavaliers are 1-7 in their last 8.

New York trailed by as many as 17 last time out, but it was able to cut the lead to just 4 points with 6:35 remaining. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, led by just 7 with 1:22 remaining at Detroit after choking away the majority of a 26-point, 4th-quarter lead.

Cleveland’s poor 4th quarter last time out worries me more than the Knicks falling victim to a hot-shooting night from Warriors G Stephen Curry, who had 31 points on 8-of-18 shooting from 3.

LEAN KNICKS +6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Call me square, but the Under has hit in the last 7 meetings between these teams, and that is not a trend that I’m looking to fade.

The Under is also 7-1 in the last 8 Knicks games, and they keep finding ways to score as few points as possible while playing respectable defense. New York has scored under 100 points in back-to-back games and allowed 111 or fewer in 4 of its last 7.

BET UNDER 212.5 (-110).
