Analyzing Sunday’s Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (25-39) and Cleveland Cavaliers (41-22) meet Sunday. Tip-off from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 3-0

The Nets, who were 6-point favorites, failed to cover for a 3rd straight road game with a 110-99 loss against the Charlotte Hornets Saturday as the Over (207.5) hit. Brooklyn is a league-worst 10-19 against the spread (ATS) in away games, according to Teamrankings.com.

The Cavaliers are coming off a cover as 1-point favorites in a 113-104 OT win vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday with the Over (206.5) cashing in Cleveland. They’ve alternated ATS wins and losses over the last 6 games.

Cleveland is 2-1 ATS vs. the Nets this season, and the Under has gone 2-1. The Cavaliers covered as 7.5-point favorites with a 118-95 victory at Brooklyn in the most recent meeting Feb. 8 as the Under (224) hit.

Nets at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 106, Nets 105

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-300) are slightly overpriced for a team that has struggled to string together good performances lately. However, I have no interest in taking the Nets to pull off the upset on the road.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

Cleveland has not covered in back-to-back outings since Feb. 8-10 and is 3-9 ATS since that short 2-game ATS win streak. The shorthanded Cavaliers struggle to string together good performances without their leading scorer in Mitchell (28 points per game) and may come out flat after an impressive OT win.

While the Nets have been the worst road bet ATS this season, this is actually the time to start taking them. The market is overreacting to recent losses at Charlotte and the Detroit Pistons and has created the opportunity for us to get some value on Brooklyn.

BET NETS +7.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in the last 4 Nets games, and this number is a bit too low at the moment. I understand that both of these teams are bottom 10 in offensive efficiency over the last 3 games, but Brooklyn’s offense should bounce back after scoring just 99 points against the 28th-ranked team in defensive efficiency in the Hornets.

BET OVER 207.5 (-110).

Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (12-5) travel to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Monday to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-8). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nets vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Brooklyn is coming into this game having won two straight following its absolute flat performance in a 117-99 home loss to the West Conference-leading Golden State Warriors Tuesday.

Led by former MVPs Kevin Durant and James Harden, the Nets were preseason title favorites. They’re 8-9 against the spread (ATS) and 7-10 on the Over/Under (O/U). Brooklyn is 6-2 on the road.

Cleveland is still without rookie phenom F Evan Mobley and top-scorer G Collin Sexton. Much will be expected of G Darius Garland and big Jarrett Allen Monday.

The Cavaliers lost 109-99 to the Nets in Brooklyn Wednesday and are on a 3-game losing skid. They’re 10-7 ATS and 5-12 O/U.

Nets at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 109, Cavaliers 103

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Cavaliers should be more competitive with Allen back in the lineup.

The Nets should still come out on top, so I wouldn’t back the Cavs quite yet, but the +260 is the only side worth considering as the Nets have been far too inconsistent to garner a look at -340.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the CAVALIERS +7.5 (-120).

The Nets bagged 95 points from just 4 players when these teams faced off last Wednesday. That’s not typically ideal for the sake of consistency, especially with the Cavs having brought back potential All-Star center Allen.

The Cavs have a defensive rating of 103 with Allen on the court which would be good for third-best in the NBA, although the defensive prowess of F Isaac Okoro still held Durant to just 23 points in their last meeting.

Forward Kevin Love is back as well which will add some scoring for Cleveland as they should be able to top 100 points for the first time in more than two weeks.

The glass is another reason why I’m backing Cleveland. The Cavs have the 12th-best offensive rebounding rate while the Nets have the 25th-best total rebounding rate. Cleveland should be able to attack the offensive glass successfully.

The Cavaliers 3-game skid is the largest in the Eastern Conference and they should come out on a mission in this one.

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 207.5 (-110) as Love’s presence should bode well for this total.

Having a combined five scoring titles between Durant and Harden is a major reason to back the Over. The Nets rank third in true shooting percentage and ninth in pace.

If they can get out early, they’ll control the speed of the game, much like last time when the Cavaliers needed a 13-point third quarter difference just to hang around.

This total would’ve hit last time around, and the return of a few key Cavaliers should only bode well for them offensively. The Cavs also shot under 40% from the field in the last meeting and they should be able to put some points on the board if they can get back to their mean.

Nets at Cavaliers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 123, Cavaliers 115

Money line (ML)

The Nets (-450) are favored to bounce back in a big way after losing an epic 147-135 double-overtime game against the Cavaliers (+350) Wednesday. But can you feel confident risking four-and-a-half times your potential return? Definitely not. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The CAVALIERS +9.5 (-110) won a classic against the Nets -9.5 (-110) to get back to .500 Wednesday night. They cannot be trusted to win outright for a third consecutive outing, but they should be able to keep this one within single digits after covering each of their past two. And Brooklyn’s defense, or lack thereof, will keep the Cavs in the game even.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 227.5 (-110) cashed easily in Wednesday’s battle with a total of 282 points. We’ll obviously see much fewer points here, but will we see 56 less? Doubtful. While Cleveland allows just 106.1 PPG to rank fourth in the NBA, Brooklyn is second in offense with 120.3 PPG, and they don’t play a great brand of defense, yielding 115.8 PPG to rank 25th in the league. Look for another Over, which is 10-0 run for the Nets.
