76ers at Cavaliers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 111, Cavaliers 103

Money line (ML)

The 76ers (-275) will cost you a pretty penny, and laying nearly three times your potential return, especially on a road team, is not a good long-term betting strategy.

PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

The 76ERs -6.5 (-110) are a decent play. Yes, like the Cavaliers +6.5 (-110), they played last night and had to travel to Cleveland for this game. But it was a short trip from New York for Philly. The Cavs also had a puddle jump over Lake Erie, but they might be a little more taxed after being taken to double overtime. Look for some tired legs on the home side.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 217.5 (-110) is worth a look, as Philly’s defense has been sharp through the first two games, allowing 107 in a win against Washington in the opener, and just 89 in New York. The 76ers have posted a pair of Under results to date. Cleveland has hit the Over in each of its games, but Philadelphia is easily the best team they have faced to date. They are averaging 124.5 PPG on offense during the early going, but won’t sniff that against the Sixers.

Cavaliers at Pistons: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cavaliers 111, Pistons 109

Money line (ML)

The CAVALIERS (+110) opened with an impressive home win over the Charlotte Hornets. Now they look to duplicate that success with a quick jump over Lake Erie for their first road game of the season. The Pistons (-135) were dumped by 10 in the opener Wednesday in Minnesota. They actually led 85-80 heading into the fourth quarter but were outscored 31-16. We’ll see if they have a problem finishing in this one, too.

Against the spread (ATS)

The CAVALIERS +2.5 (-115) are worth a play in their first road game of the season. Cleveland is 6-2 ATS in its past eight road games dating back to last season, and they’re 4-1 ATS in the previous five matchups with the Pistons. C Andre Drummond returns to his old stomping grounds, too, trying to get his new team to 2-0 on the young season. The big opened with his usual double-double, going for 14 points and 14 rebounds in just over 27 minutes.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 215.5 (-110) is a strong play. The Cavs cruised to an Over result in their 121-114 win over the Hornets, while the Pistons hit the Under in their opening game road loss. More importantly, look to the series trends, which each point to the Over. The Over is 4-1 in the past five meetings at LCA, and 7-0 in the previous seven meetings overall in this series.

Hornets at Cavaliers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hornets 111, Cavaliers 97

Money line (ML)

The Hornets (-145) are the play in this game, as the Cavaliers (+120) will be without Love and KPJ. In addition, Cleveland might also be without Nance and Sexton, which would be a huge chunk of its offense. Charlotte will win, but it’s slightly cheaper taking them laying 2.5 points. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

HORNETS -2.5 (-110) will cost you slightly less, but it’s a similar bet essentially as playing the money line. The Cavaliers +2.5 (-110) are a tempting play but only because they’re at home. Their injury report reads like a team in the middle of the season rather than heading into the opener. Charlotte is also 4-1 ATS in the past five trips to Cleveland, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 214.5 (-110) is the way to go with the Cavaliers already dealing with injury issues. And hey, the Under is 6-2 in the past eight meetings in this series, too.
