Two Notre Dame assistants meet with top-rated 2026 recruit in Indiana

Will the Irish ultimately land his services?

[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] came to Notre Dame with the promise of recruiting heavily within the state of Indiana. Recent recruiting activity by the Irish suggests they’re living up to that promise.

The top-rated Indiana recruit in the 2025 class, Jalen Haralson, will make his official visit to Notre Dame over the coming weekend. But even if the Irish don’t win his services, they have a backup plan.

Almost a year ago, the Irish made an offer to South Bend native Steven Reynolds III, who goes to Washington and is the top-rated Indiana recruit in the 2026 class according to 247Sports and On3. Perhaps because of the proximity, the Irish sent a pair of staffers to follow up with him Thursday:

Naturally, Reynolds has offers from multiple schools. Those include Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue and IUPUI. The Irish need to take every advantage they can in their effort to land him. Hopefully in the end, Reynolds’ South Bend roots will win out.

Top-rated 2025 Indiana recruit hypes official visit to Notre Dame

Will he pick the Irish?

Jalen Haralson is the top-rated 2025 recruit in the state of Indiana according to both 247Sports and On3. He played two years at Fishers before transferring to the prestigious La Lumiere. And he’s considering Notre Dame for his collegiate choice.

Haralson will make his official visit to Notre Dame on Saturday, the same day as the football team’s home opener against Northern Illinois. It will come exactly one weekend after he visited Indiana. Official visits to Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue and Kansas will follow.

Interestingly, all of Haralson’s official visits will come during home football games. It’s hard to tell how much, if at all, the football atmosphere will play a factor in his final decision.

In any case, Haralson is looking forward to visiting South Bend, and he indicated as much on social media:

There obviously is a long way to go before we know if Haralson picks the Irish. Until then, all we can is pray that he does.

Top-rated 2025 Michigan guard recruit schedules visit to Notre Dame

Will the Irish get him?

[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] is entering his second season as Notre Dame coach. He’s waiting for the one recruit that really could make an impact. If everything goes right, he might have just found his guy.

Trey McKenney is a four- or five-star recruit depending on which site you look at. According to 247Sports, the Michigan shooting guard is the state’s top-rated player in the 2025 recruiting class. While it’s been known for a while now that he would be visiting the Irish, he finally has set a date with them along with all the other schools he’s visiting:

The fact that McKenney is visiting the Irish last means they’ll have a chance to save the best presentation for last. As of right now, On3 has him most likely to pick Michigan State. A lot can happen over the next few months though, and Irish fans will be anxious to see if it works out for their team.

2025 four-star power forward recruit lists Notre Dame on final five

Hope he chooses to stay in-state.

Notre Dame does not yet have a commit for its 2025 recruiting class. However, one four-star power forward recruit from Indianapolis could change that. We’ll just have to see.

Brady Koehler, who attends Cathedral, has narrowed his choice to five schools, including the Irish. Also on the list are Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Iowa and Northwestern. He has visits lined up with each school. Notre Dame’s visit, the third chronically on his itinerary, happening from Sept. 6 through Sept. 8.

Koehler is listed as Indiana’s fourth-ranked recruit in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247Sports. That site also indicates that the Demon Deacons are the favorites to land him. However, Cathedral has also the Fighting Irish as its mascot along with the Blue and Gold as its colors, so maybe that’s an advantage for [autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] and his staff?

Koehler is coming off a season in which he averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks a game. That will catch the attention of any college program.

Notre Dame one of six finalists for five-star 2025 Kentucky guard

This would be a huge get.

Notre Dame is projected to have a big 2024-25 season, but the question is whether 2025-26 and beyond will be special. If the Irish have their way, one addition to their roster will make things a lot easier.

Zakiyah Johnson, a five-star guard from Kentucky, is projected by multiple sites as the best 2025 recruit in her state. She’s been named the Gatorade Kentucky Girls Basketball Player of the Year three years in a row. And she’s listed Notre Dame as one of the six programs to make her final cut:

When asked by On3 what she liked about each program, Johnson said this about the Irish:

“It’s all girl coaches – I like the way they run their program. I’m also really big on fashion, and I think they do a really good job with it. Coach [Niele] Ivey is very sweet, and Coach [Michaela] Mabrey is very sweet. I can kind of connect with them because they’re younger. It’s really just a vibe you have to be there to feel.”

Let’s hope the vibe is strong enough to lead her to South Bend.

Notre Dame one of five finalists for 2025 Indiana power forward

Hope the Irish get him!

From the moment he became Notre Dame’s coach, [autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] has made recruiting within Indiana a priority. We likely will find out this fall if he’s been successful in landing one particular recruit.

Trent Sisley, a four-star power forward at Heritage Hills in Lincoln City and the sixth-ranked 2025 recruit in Indiana per 247Sports, has informed On3 cut his list down to five schools. Notre Dame is one of those schools alongside Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State and Iowa, the last of which is the only school he’s visited so far. He has scheduled his visit to Notre Dame for Sept. 28.

The 6-foot-7 Sisley, who will be a contender for Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2025, recently competed in the annual All-Stars series between the best players in Indiana and Kentucky. He impressed everyone there, successfully building on a season in which he averaged a double-double. He could be Shrewsberry’s biggest get yet if it all works out.

Four-star tight end picks Notre Dame

Nice get.

Notre Dame has developed a reputation in recent years as the landing spot for many quality tight ends. Our own Nick Shepkowski has taken to giving Notre Dame the moniker of “Tight End U.” Well, he’ll able to keep calling it that for the foreseeable future.

Many experts are high on [autotag]Nate Roberts[/autotag], and the 2025 four-star recruit from Washington, Oklahoma, picked the Irish during a live announcement on 247Sports’ YouTube channel:

Roberts, Oklahoma’s No. 2 recruit and the nation’s No. 3 tight end in the 2025 class, appropriately received his offer from the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and was getting offers as recently as June 6. [autotag]Gerad Parker[/autotag] and [autotag]Marty Biagi[/autotag] led the charge in recruiting him, and this definitely is a big win for them. He’s comparable in size to [autotag]Michael Mayer[/autotag] and could very well catch up in at least that department by the time his collegiate career begins. Maybe the Irish should start the process of trademarking “Tight End U”?

Notre Dame extends offer to 2025 Massachusetts small forward

Hope the Irish get him.

Even with the 2024-25 season months away from tipping off, Notre Dame remains focused on the distant future. After all, you need to have new players all the time in order for your program to have a future.

While there are no commits for the Irish’s 2025 recruiting class yet, they’re going to do everything they can to give themselves as many options as possible. One of them apparently is 6-foot-6 small forward recruit Ryder Frost of Beverly, Massachusetts since he posted the following on social media:

Frost, the fifth-ranked 2025 Massachusetts recruit according to 247Sports, already has offers from over a dozen other schools. In fact, Frost has been offered by many ACC programs in only the past couple of days: Syracuse, Wake Forest, NC State, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

So the Irish have their work cut out for them as far as landing Frost. With luck, that work will pay off.

Notre Dame communicating regularly with 2025 Florida shooting guard

Hope he ultimately picks the Irish.

So far, Notre Dame has not received any commitments for its 2025 recruiting class. Naturally, the only way to change that is to stay in constant contact with the recruits who might ultimately fill that list. One of those is four-star shooting guard recruit Dante Allen from Riviera Prep in Miami. At least that’s the case according to recruiting insider Jake Lieberman:

What makes this particular case interesting is that Notre Dame currently is not listed among the schools interested in him on 247Sports. In fairness though, the timeline on his profile hasn’t been updated since the late summer of 2022, so who knows how accurate that is?

Allen is the No. 10 2025 recruit in Florida according to 247Sports in a class that includes the twin sons of former NBA player Carlos Boozer. This past season, he averaged 21.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 steals a game.

A two-way guard would be a nice get for an Irish team still trying to build its culture. Of course, Allen has to say yes in the end. We’ll see how this goes.

Notre Dame adds five-star forward Leah Macy to 2025 recruiting class

The Irish just keep adding.

Notre Dame has had a couple of solid additions to its 2024-25 roster via the transfer portal. But [autotag]Niele Ivey[/autotag] also is looking to the future. To that end, five-star forward [autotag]Leah Macy[/autotag] of Bethlehem in Bardstown, Kentucky has been one of the players on her radar. That pursuit officially has paid off with Macy announcing her commitment to the Irish:

This past season, the 6-foot-2 Macy averaged 24.9 points and 13.9 rebounds a game. ESPN ranks her as the No. 14 recruit in her class, and she can play both forward positions as well as center.

Perhaps it’s not coincidental that Macy announced her decision during the same 24-hour span in which the Irish landed forwards [autotag]Liatu King[/autotag] and [autotag]Liza Karlen[/autotag] for this coming season. While she won’t be teammates with them, she could be part of a new core of bigs that includes incoming freshman [autotag]Kate Koval[/autotag]. Hopefully, Koval will save that seat for her until she arrives.
