Seahawks could sport throwback uniforms twice next season

The exact games won’t be revealed until the schedule in May, but the Seattle Seahawks could be sporting their retro uniforms twice in 2023.

Seattle Seahawks fans got some great news in November when the team announced via its Twitter account that the throwback uniforms would be making a return.

Seahawks president Chuck Arnold joined KJR radio 93.3 FM on Monday to discuss the club’s “State of the Union” and was promptly asked about the return of the iconic uniforms.

“Yes, it’s happening,” Arnold told Dave Mahler and Dick Fain. “We’re excited, I think we’re just as excited as the fans are for the throwbacks. The game won’t be decided until the schedule comes out in early May, but we’ll get a chance.

“We’re not sure yet if it’ll be one time or two times, but we’re going to have a lot of fun with it as we launch it.”

Seattle sported the retro royal jersey and silver helmet and pants from the franchise start in 1976 until 2001. Now that the NFL has officially done away with the one-helmet rule, the look can return this season.

Seahawks ‘getting closer’ to wearing throwback uniforms, but it won’t happen in 2022

Team president Chuck Arnold said today that they’re “getting closer” but they won’t be wearing the throwbacks in the 2022 season.

The Seattle Seahawks had the cleanest look in pro football for a long time. That streak ended when they switched to the heavy blue uniforms in 2002. While the new look that started in 2012 is definitely an improvement, it’s still not in the same league as the vibrant blue, green and silver that they sported in the 80s.

A lot of Seattle fans want to see their club wearing their throwback uniforms as many other NFL teams have in recent years. Team president Chuck Arnold said today that they’re “getting closer” but they won’t be wearing the throwbacks in the 2022 season.

Much ado about nothing? Russell Wilson not mentioned in season ticket holder letter

The Seahawks sent a letter to their season ticket holders and quarterback Russell Wilson’s name was not mentioned. Much ado about nothing?

Rumors about a possible trade of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson continue to swirl around the internet leading to more and more conspiracy theories about his future (or lack thereof) in Seattle.

One of the latest stories circulating around social media involves a letter recently sent by the organization to season ticket holders. While the letter doesn’t mention every player on the team, one name has “mysteriously” been left out . . . that of the face of the franchise, Mr. Wilson himself.

The letter was penned by Seahawks’ president Chuck Arnold and contained a brief recap of recent team happenings, including some records set last season and some new hires this year. Only a handful of players were actually mentioned, including wide receivers Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

The lack of Wilson’s name in the letter is likely indicative of absolutely nothing, but for those looking for clues of a potential trade, the evidence could be stacking up.

Much ado about nothing???

Here’s a look at the letter in question – you decide for yourself.
